Plan Summary
As the nation of Judah struggled with idolatry, foreign invaders, and their own misguided leaders, God called the prophet Isaiah to bring a message of repentance, redemption, and restoration. These prophecies revealed the raw truth about the destructiveness of sin and were brimming with urgent warnings about the consequences of rebelling against God. And yet, they also pointed to the God who relentlessly pursues His people. Isaiah relayed the promise of a servant King who would bring a new kind of kingdom—one built on justice and compassion—and make a way for all of God's people to come home to a beautifully restored creation with Him. In this seven-week Lenten study of the book of Isaiah, we will move from the prophesied Messiah to the fulfilled promises found in the resurrected Christ. We'll be reminded of God's perfect plan for His people and see that plan put into action at the cross. And we'll return to and rest in the God who declares over His people, “...you will be called Cared For, A City Not Deserted" (Isaiah 62:12).
