Judah on Trial

Open Your Bible

Isaiah 1:1-31, Isaiah 2:1-22, Deuteronomy 11:26-28

When our oldest started driving, we ran into a problem. With his new independence taking him places without his parents, he was frequently borrowing my credit card for covered expenses but oftentimes forgetting to return it or accidentally misplacing it. In a matter of six months, I had already replaced that card twice, and we needed a solution. Why not just get an additional card under his name on our account? It would certainly be convenient.

Well, convenient is a fantastic word to describe what happened. Not only was it convenient for our son to pay for his covered expenses with his own card, it was also surprisingly convenient to produce that card any time an expense popped up that he assumed should also be covered. This I did not see coming. Opening the next credit card statement, I was greeted by a large number of unexpected, additional charges with his initials next to them. I grabbed a highlighter and calculator, marking the charges and adding them up. This kid was in deep.

With approximately $17 to his name, my child had no way to pay me back. Of course, all I wanted was to forgive his debt and for him to learn a valuable lesson. But in order for him to truly learn, he needed to understand. So when he got home that night, I had the pages of the credit card statement on the kitchen counter with his charges highlighted in yellow. He was apologetic but also extremely overwhelmed by the reality of what he’d done and how it had all added up. I asked some important questions and clarified some important rules, and then sitting with my son at the kitchen counter that night, I had the honor of forgiving his debt. And he was grateful—more grateful than he would have been if he hadn’t understood the cost.

I wonder if, in a small way, this is what reading Isaiah for Lent does for us. The prophet took the time to show the people of Judah the destructiveness of their sin and its consequences. Line by line, he showed them the severity of their debt. But he also prophesied: someone is coming to forgive it all.

The season of Lent encourages us to look back before we look forward. It’s about holding our eyes open, looking fully at our sin, and then keeping them open wide to fully comprehend the hope of Jesus that is coming. In this season we’re invited to walk toward our hope, but we must remind ourselves of the beginning. We review our charges and repent of all we cannot begin to pay. And thus, we approach the cross with the gratitude of a sinner forgiven. No longer debtors, but by the grace of God, sons and daughters—coheirs of an eternal inheritance.

I’m so grateful to take this journey with you for another year, friends—to read the book of Isaiah and the Holy Week passages and acknowledge our mortality. We need Jesus. And as we approach the cross and the resurrection that will surely follow, we have this assurance: God will save His people.

Lord, it is uncomfortable to look at my sin. I am literally squirming when I take the time to truly look back. The ways that I have treated others, the immaturity of my choices and years I wasted in disobedience are overwhelming. I hate to admit my need. It is humbling. I do need your forgiveness Lord. You promise it to us, who can bring any charge against God’s elect it is God who justifies us, declaring us blameless and putting us in right relationship with Himself (Rom 8:33). Thank you Lord.

I just wanted to clarify about what she said on the podcast about Doc Holiday. He didn’t say “huckleberry” it’s very famously misquoted. He said “I’ll be your hucklebearer” but in his accent it came out muddled (he was from GA) Back then a “huckle” was what they called the handles on a coffin. So to be someone’s hucklebearer was to say they would be one of the ones carrying your coffin. It’s technically a death threat….just thought that information might be useful. Truth matters!

    1. Anne Atchison says:

Wow!!! That changes the quote completely!! Thanks for sharing.

I resonated with the example Rachel gave of clearly laying out debts for her son to see before wiping them away. I can still feel the pain of looking at all my financial debt 7 years ago and feeling overwhelmed and full of shame and regret but not knowing how to fix it. I love the idea of taking time during lent to do an intentional inventory of all my sin and offering it to God for forgiveness.

Isaiah has always been a fascinating book to me, so much contrasts between judgement and hope, with the promise of Jesus woven throughout so many hundreds of years before he came! I’m excited to walk through this book during lent, a time I hope to examine my own sin and reflect on the hope of Gods love spilled out on the cross through His son Jesus.

  52. Julie Waldvogel says:

So excited to dive into this study!

1:13- stop bringing useless offerings- what useless things do I say I’m offering up when God just wants my heart?

1:25 I will remove all your impurities- what a good prayer to pray that God would help us remove our impurities this Lenten season

2:11 the pride of mankind will be humbled and human loftiness will be made low- once again what things do I take pride in that maybe I shouldn’t be?

  58. Paula Mourin says:

  59. Isabel Jones says:

I love this personal story about your son so much. I worked at hooters as a 17 year old and my dad came in and brought that verse written down
Come now let us reason together
Though your sin be as scarlet I will make you white as snow
I didn’t want to hear it at the time, I didn’t want to be seen. Turning away from Gods goodness is such a painful move, the grace to come back to Him is one I’ve relied upon so many times in my life. Thank you for the coming journey. I wonder, can we eat from the tree of life in the garden He put us once again.. without focusing on the right and wrong good and evil? Just a theological question. We have to remember what Jesus did so we can be grateful and appreciate, just for the first time I wonder if that’s what He wants us to do … lament over sin –
my need for and love for Him is alive.

  63. Erin Contreras says:

There are days when I am so unsure of who I am and where I am headed. How will I get to the future I am hoping for while constantly thinking of my past and everything I have been through. At the end of the day God has forgiven me and my sins. It is up to me to take responsibility, wake up from my past and to keep putting one foot in front of the other. He will always draw me close and guide me. I look forward to what he will teach me today.

    1. L B says:

      Right there with you, Erin!

  64. Meagan Ceci says:

I’m going through a tremendously difficult season of life right now. I’m praying for God to show me His mercies this Lenten season, and that He will guide me closer to Him.

    1. Rhonda J. says:

I am so sorry you are going through a wilderness season Meagan! But that is when we can’t rely on ourselves and feel a stronger pull to call on Jesus to hold us, carry us, and strengthen us! His timing is perfect even though it is hard and seems like He is not there, He surely is. The study we just finished of His Promises might be helpful to look at as well! It will be a balm to your weary soul! Praying for you.

Where can I find the daily devotionals if I already had the book

    1. Searching says:

Welcome, Josian! You can find the devos on the app or website.

    2. Breanna Kay says:

I am wondering that as well! This is my first SRT study and I’m a little confused.

      1. Searching says:

Welcome! Study choices include physical or digital books, the app and the website. The books have more in them than website or app, just not the devo – those may be written closer to study dates.
I have a digital book subscription (includes app access) for study, and use the website for devo and commenting.

  70. Brandi Young says:

I can’t begin to tell you how this first day is such a confirmation that God is going to answer my prayer about what I want to look like at the end of this Lent season! Thank you, Lord!

    1. Rhonda J. says:

That’s awesome! I love how God gives us confirmation!!

  71. Brianna Little says:

willingness and obedience to God requires refusal and rebellion of sin. flipping the script of obedience meaning silence for myself. praying for God’s will to be done in your life and committing to obedience to His will requires a tireless approach to learning, pursuing, correcting, defending, and pleading all in the name of justice. grateful to be here, praying for hearts to be broken and fear to be removed.

  72. Anna Howard says:

This is my first Lent season with SRT and my first time reading Isaiah. I listened to the podcast today and loved it!!

  73. Sydney Herman says:

Are the devotions on the app free with a purchase of a devotional?

    1. Eliah Gervais says:

Yeah I’m wondering the same thing..I bought the digital version, and was kinda bummed to not see any devos included..

      1. Searching says:

        Welcome!
I have a digital subscription and app is included with the subscription. I don’t use app often – mainly do devo and comments on the website. The books do have more in them than website or app, just not the devo – those may be written closer to study dates.

    2. Rhonda J. says:

I have only ever used the free study/devotional/comments on the SRT website. If you get the books you get free access to the app, or you can purchase the app. But I”m not sure what you get different by purchasing the app.

    2. Rhonda J. says:

So Glad to have you with us Lisa!!

  86. Teresa Donley says:

“Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.”
This verse reminds me of a flannelgraph used in children’s church when I was a kid. Iy started with a valentine heart that was black, representing our hearts, which were full of sin. Then it was covered with a red heart – scarlet – which represented our black heart covered by the blood of Jesus This was then covered by a white heart, showing our hearts as white as snow after Jesus’ blood washed all our sins away. It’s amazing how some simple children’s lessons can still send such a powerful lesson sixty-some years later.

My prayers are that I can take the visual of all my sins listed out from today’s lesson with me through Lent, reminding me of what Jesus truly did for me on the cross. My debts are indeed paid. My sins, not in part, but the whole, are completely forgiven!! Praise God!!

    1. Cee Gee says:

      ❤ amen!

  87. Kris says:

I’m not wanting to be disrespectful, but sometimes we ask someone “ok, tell me how you really feel”. Isaiah 1 is really punching it at us!! “Stop doing evil!” there’s no wondering what God is thinking. I’ve had days like that with my own kids… just STOP!! ya know? As merciful and gracious as He is, He must be just fed up with a bunch of us

    1. Rhonda J. says:

Right? I think that often too, and He should be! :)

  90. Gwineth52 says:

Hello Shes on the First Day in Isaiah
    Chapter 1: 18 “Come, let’s settle this,”
    says the Lord…
Don’t you just love it when God gets down to business & speaks bluntly? You’re choosing the wrong fight, Judah & Jerusalem,
But next, the mood & message change…
    “Though your sins are scarlet,
    they will be as white as snow;
    though they are crimson red,
    they will be like wool.”
Our God, while harsh, is very willing to cleanse & to forgive, but first comes repentance & obedience.
This verse, in this translation, gets to me. I pray
I find myself, and not defend myself, as I move through the lessons in Isaiah. I want to pay closer attention to what I want & need from this all seeing & all knowing, but pointed & plain spoken God. I, the accused, don’t want to mess around. As the saying goes, “My arms are too short to box with God”!

Hi – first She Reads Truth study I’ve committed to doing. Excited!!
Can someone’s explain what “She’s” is that you guys keep commenting?

    1. Gwineth52 says:

Greetings Allura & A Warm Welcome
“She’s” is a shorthand name for the She Reads Truth (SRT) sisterhood. This platform (forum) is sacred space for community conversation. We call one another Shes out of a shared love of scripture & the belief in lifelong learning.
      Keep coming back!

      1. Allura Lynn says:

Oh thank you so much! Okay I hope to learn and participate and see more! Question – is there a way to get notified if someone replies to your thread? Tia

        1. Rhonda J. says:

Unfortunately no notification for a response! I like to start my day here, and end my day here! :) That way you can check back and read replies.

Knowing the cost. I love this so much.

  93. Lexi B says:

I love the visual that Rachael paints in her devotional. I think of all the debt I have and what a relief it would be to have someone come and take it all away; me owing nothing. What freedom that would bring! It’s amazing to realize that is what Jesus has done for me…all my sins covered by Him. Incredibly grateful for this gift; something I can never repay.

  94. Tami Cutler says:

Hi ladies, I am so excited to start this study! I have never read Isaiah and am looking forward to learning from all of you. As I was reading I thought of the title being “Tami on Trial”. Wow what would that look like? I don’t want to know. Thankfully because of Jesus I don’t have to. My brother is going home today with IV nutrition. He is excited after 3 weeks in the hospital. Today he is feeling good and has more energy than I have seen in a while – praise God! Thank you for your prayers. And thank you Searching for the prayer recap so I know how to be praying:)

    1. Teresa Donley says:

I’m glad to hear your brother is doing better, and going home. I’m continuing to pray.

    2. Teresa Donley says:

Interesting perspective – what would it look like if I were the one on trial. I shudder to think! I’m so thankful that Jesus has already paid my penalty.

    3. Cee Gee says:

    4. Rhonda J. says:

So glad Tami your brother was feeling well and able to go home. Still praying for his healing.

    .

    PEOPLE NEED THE LORD
    by Steve Green
    .
Every day they pass me by
I can see it in their eyes
    Empty people filled with care
    Headed who knows where?
On they go through private pain
    Living fear to fear
    Laughter hides their silent cries
    Only Jesus hears
    People need the Lord
    People need the Lord
At the end of broken dreams
    He’s the open door
    People need the Lord
    People need the Lord
    When will we realize
    People need the Lord?
We are called to take His light
To a world where wrong seems right
What could be too great a cost
For sharing life with one who’s lost?
Through His love our hearts can feel
    All the grief they bear
They must hear the words of life
    Only we can share
    People need the Lord
    People need the Lord
At the end of broken dreams
    He’s the open door
    People need the Lord
    People need the Lord
    When will we realize
That we must give our lives
    For people need the Lord
    People need the Lord
    Songwriters: Greg Nelson, Phill Mchugh.

  98. Jacque Young says:

Isaiah 1:13 “…I cannot stand iniquity with a festival.” I never thought of it this way and I laughed at the idea of almost throwing a party to address and “erase” their sins through meaningless sacrifice, only to continue in their rebellion. It’s transactional and not transformational.

    1. Rhonda J. says:

Yes, good thought. We cannot be transactional! Transformation was my word last year, and presence.

  99. Cheryl Blow says:

Thank you SHE’S for your wonderful insights! As I read our scripture for today, it did make me think of the United States and how far are we strayed from God!

I thought of this verse. “if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭7‬:‭14‬ ‭NIV‬‬
    https://bible.com/bible/111/2ch.7.14.NIV

But God is faithful as we search our hearts, humble ourselves & pray, He will hear from heaven.

I’m not even thinking politics but just how far our country has strayed from God.

God is faithful but also just. Yet throughout the Bible, we can see Him making a way for us to be reconciled to Him! Jesus did it once and for all! Praise God!

Rhonda, praying for healing from the flu and from deliverance from the respiratory issues. Get plenty of rest!

Praying for all! Thank you, Searching, for your prayer lists! Thanks for your prayers!

I’ll leave you with this verse – ““Ah, Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.”

  100. Jamie Swope says:

I love the “come” invitation in Isaiah 2 to go up the mountain and walk in the Lord’s light. May we invite others in our loves to go with us on this life’s journey. Shout out to our First and Calvary family who have accepted this invitation to “come” this Lenten season!

  101. Zulany VegaEspanol says:

  102. Jessica Atkinson says:

Though your sins are scarlet, they will be as white as snow – He Will Save Us!

  103. Lauren Savory says:

For me it’s easy to not take the time to reflect on my sins and shortcomings but rather just say, it is forgiven. Taking the time to meditate on what God has saved us from allows me to more greatly appreciate his forgiveness and salvation.❤️

    1. Allison Bentley says:

@Lauren Savory- I too confess this

  104. Wendy B says:

I think if my sins were listed and highlighted on a page (let’s be honest, endless pages!)it would just be crippling. The reality of my human nature and brokeness just staring back at me is a sobering thought. But, God although grieved by my sin and in no way deserving, makes a way not to leave me in the pit of brokeness, and lostness.

Thank you Lord, that you change everything. You forgive, your redeem, you restore, you save.❤️

    1. Donna Wolcott says:

      Amen!

  105. Sharon, Jersey Girl says:

“We need Jesus.” Do we ever!! People need the Lord and we need to carry the message of the gospel to them. Jesus did not die just for me – He died for all. He left His glorious home in heaven to come to this sin filled world to give us life and hope. Praise God!

Father God, as we move into this season of lent, please remind me to look back from where I was, and to look ahead to where you are taking me. Fill my heart, fill our hearts with the hope of Jesus that awaits us. May we walk in the light of the Lord. In Jesus name Amen.

Asking prayer for my brother-in-law, Joe. He recently had brain surgery, do to a debilitating disease that he suffers with. The surgery went well but he is having a tough time with recovery and seems to be giving up. He is not a believer. Prayers please that he will have the will to live and recover, that he will do well with physical therapy and that he will be encouraged. And most of all – that he will come to Christ.

This old hymn came to mind today…

    Ivory Palaces
    My Lord has garments so wondrous fine, and myrrh their texture fills;
its fragrance reached to this heart of mine, with joy my being thrills.
    .
    Refrain:
    Out of the ivory palaces
    into a world of woe,
    only his great eternal love
    made my Savior go.
    .
His life had also its sorrows sore,
for aloes had a part; and when I think of the cross he bore, my eyes with teardrops start. [Refrain]
    .
    His garments, too, were in cassia dipped, with healing in a touch;
each time my feet in some sin have slipped, he took me from its clutch. [Refrain]
    .
In garments glorious he will come,
to open wide the door; and I shall enter my heavenly home, to dwell forevermore. [Refrain]

Happy to be going through this Lenten study with you all! ❤️

  106. Samantha Hinderaker says:

“Put no more trust in a mere human, who has only the breath in his nostrils. What is he really worth?” Isaiah 2:22

I put too much trust into my own abilities as a result from growing up around trauma and the secular American culture. I know I cannot do anything apart from Jesus – please help me to glorify God through the work He asks of me and only through Him who strengthens me. Amen

  107. Jennifer Jackson says:

God is just, kind, loving, merciful, gracious. He is our Savior.

  108. Traci Gendron says:

Isaiah 2:5 House of Judah, (group of She’s), come and let’s walk in the Lord’s light.

I remember 30 years ago being in my sunroom on the floor in the fetal position crying out to God. I had started going to BSF and I was learning all about forgiveness. I wanted it. What a change that made in my life, learning that all I had to do was ask for forgiveness. And from there keep learning about our wonderful God. Have I stumbled over the years, yes. Has God forgiven me and pulled me closer to Him, Yes. Oh But God, what a wonderful Father we have in Him.

    1. Sharon, Jersey Girl says:

      Amen! ❤️

  109. Lauren Garza says:

We are not worthy of His love and forgiveness.

  110. Mari V says:

When I started to read Raechel’s intro introduction and then read about her son’s credit card, me, my personality would of freaked out! But as I read through the rest of her introduction/devotion and how she relates (and her patience) to how much our Jesus forgives us… WOW! Forgiven! Debt paid in full! God is good! Must let others know no matter how deep they/we are in sin JESUS paid their/my penalty!

    1. Gwineth52 says:

      Got that right, Mari V!

  111. Mallory Davis says:

We need Jesus. Just with everything that is going on in the world right now. Looking forward to seeing God move in this season.

  112. Rhonda J. says:

GM dear She’s, old and new! How did it get to Lent time again? One of my groups just studied Isaiah at the end of last year! It was a resounding wake up call that parallels today! Come back Americans…I gave you a land, and called for your honor, yet you have gone your own way and turned your back on me. You are proud and think you succeeded on your own, pompous and idols of things of your making. But I have called you to be my peoples, and to prosper not to harm you, yet you want to do it Your way.
It breaks my heart, a Father’s love, for his children…yet children always want and think they know a better way. But any way other than God’s perfect plan for us, is a foolish pipe dream. But He is not against us, He is for us- wanted to bless us.
I got to have a conversation about all this with a “young” lady yesterday. I pray the seeds were planted that will grow, and that as my son listened in he also felt the pull. Just like God with me, I want them to “get it.” To see that Jesus isn’t a story, or a feel good way to live, but living and breathing truth to follow.

Praying for the prayer requests, and still asking for prayers for my recovery from the flu. My lungs and rib cage are all very sore and hard to take deep breaths. I have never had respiratory issues like this before.

    1. Traci Gendron says:

Prayers Rhonda. I’ve heard it is pretty brutal.

    2. Sharon, Jersey Girl says:

Praying for a speedy recovery Rhonda. So many people I know have had the flu. Feel better soon! ❤️

    3. GramsieSue says:

      Praying Rhonda ❤️

    4. Cee Gee says:

Rhonda, I am glad you have this time with your son! If you aren’t much improved soon, you should be evaluated. My mom had what she called ‘breathing treatments’. As a young person I never asked her what that entailed. She got pneumonia several years in a row and also pleurisy. So don’t ignore those symptoms! Love you! ❤

      1. Carol J Mylin says:

♥️Agree with CeeGee, Dear Rhonda…My brother-in-law had a terrible cough for 14,days before he was evaluated… has Flu #1.

Praying for total healing and restoration, dear friend!!

    5. Dee Dee says:

Yes praying for complete healing! The flu has been bad this year! Sending extra love and prayers ❤️❤️

Praying for your speedy and full recovery, Rhonda

  113. Briana Jenkins says:

    Amen! Happy Monday

  114. Kelly Unger says:

    Amen! God is good!

  115. Taylor says:

The Lord woke me up before my alarm today so I could gather here with you all! Loved Isaiah 1:17 and 2:5. I am so grateful for this message and the reminder of how desperately we need Jesus. Lord, may I cling to you in this season.

Asking for prayers as I will be traveling to Guatemala on Thursday night with my best friend for a much needed vacation! Asking for prayers for safety in our travels, rest, and a renewed spirit to keep doing the work God has called me to. Thank you for your prayers and love and hugs to all <3

    4. Teresa Donley says:

Praying for all safe trip and God’s blessings on your work.

  116. Rachel in AL says:

20-21 On that Day men and women will take
    the sticks and stones
They’ve decked out in gold and silver
to look like gods and then worshiped,
    And they will dump them
    in any ditch or gully,
    Then run for rock caves
    and cliff hideouts
To hide from the terror of God,
    from his dazzling presence,
When he assumes his full stature on earth,
    towering and terrifying.
22 Quit scraping and fawning over mere humans,
so full of themselves, so full of hot air!
Can’t you see there’s nothing to them?

    1. Tami Cutler says:

    1. Grammie D says:

      Relentless love! ❤️

  119. Maria B says:

“We need Jesus.” This is the beautiful reality of our lives as followers— we need Him because He loves us. We need Him because He guides us. We need Him because the state of the world can feel crushing. We need Him because He is the only perfect and worthy One. We need Him because in Him we find unending love, infinite mercy, and amazing grace. But above all, we need Him simply because of who He is. We need you, Jesus.

    1. Karen Y says:

Yes we do. Thank you for this crucial reminder.

    2. GramsieSue says:

      Amen! ❤️

  120. Tara B says:

The credit card analogy was great! To see the total debt highlighted….if we could see all our sins listed and highlighted, how long would that list be? Oh, but the grace and mercy of our loving Father! To speak our iniquities out loud and humbly ask for forgiveness – they are wiped away! Praise God and Amen! Let’s do Lent together, She’s! Praying we all draw closer to our Saviour! Have a wonderful Monday.

    1. Allura Lynn says:

Didn’t think of the parallel of seeing our sins highlighted and listed out. How much more remorseful we would and should be! So grateful for Gods forgiveness.

    2. Gwineth52 says:

      Yes, Tara B
      Oh my, the red ink!

  121. Sarah Carmona says:

My SRT study bible says this about Isaiah 1-2 “Though our holy God cannot tolerate His children’s sin, His love compels Him to keep showing us the right path. Even His wrath is rooted in love”

    1. Tara B says:

      Love this!

  122. Chinelo Nweke says:

Oh ERB, so nice to “see” you!!

  125. Erica Chiarelli says:

The Lord did save His people, and I saw in Isaiah 2 that included us ..the other nations. ❤️ It was part of the plan all along to bring us in. We know that but when we stop to think it through…He didn’t have to ingraft us into the Kingdom, but I’m so thankful He did!

  126. McLean Murphy says:

    Amen, thank you!

  127. Libby K says:

I love the analogy that she used about the credit card. The adding it up so her son could see and then the forgiveness and the debt paid. A simplistic yet beautiful way to point to the forgiveness we have received.

    1. M E says:

      I thought the same thing❤️

  128. Aimee D-R says:

The LORD alone shall be exalted on that day

Powerful instructions pulled from today’s devos
HRT – look at what sin truly costs, and from both HRT & SRT – approach the cross with the gratitude of a sinner forgiven.
    .
Would we ever rise from our knees if we really looked at the cost, and approached with the immeasurable gratitude we should have?
    .
He wants our hearts, sisters –
    Joel 2:13
    So rend your heart, and not your garments;
Return to the Lord your God,

  131. Diana Davis says:

A Prayer Based on Isaiah 1-2

    Heavenly Father,
You are holy and just, full of mercy and truth. You have called us to walk in Your ways, yet we confess that we have often turned from You. Like the people of Judah, we have failed to love You with our whole hearts and to love our neighbors as ourselves. Forgive us, Lord, for the times we have trusted in outward religion while neglecting justice, mercy, and humility before You.

But You, O God, are rich in grace. You invite us to come and be cleansed, to have our sins washed white as snow. We thank You for the gift of Jesus Christ, who bore our guilt and gives us His righteousness. Strengthen our faith in Your promises, that we may trust not in our own works but in Your unending mercy.

Lord, as Isaiah saw the day when Your Word would go out to all nations, we rejoice that You have called us into Your kingdom through the Gospel. Fill us with Your Spirit, that we may walk in Your light, seek peace, and proclaim Christ’s love to the world.

We long for the day when swords will be beaten into plowshares, when all nations will bow before You in peace. Until that day, keep us steadfast in faith, hopeful in Your promises, and eager to do Your will.

In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Such beautiful and truth-filled words to a heart that needs to hear, read, feel and see them written out, probably in lights! But here, in the small print is just as powerful too..:)
    .
    BUT GOD..
    .
Looking forward to this study with you all, my dearest. Prayerful our hearts are truly open to receive each day, the Word of God, that points us absolutely and without a doubt to Whom we owe our debt of gratitude, of grace, of mercy, of hope and yet, BUT GOD, there is no debt, for it was freely given.
To borrow the words from the wonderful Christmas hymn, In the Bleak Mid Winter..
    .
What can I give Him, poor as I am, if I were a shepherd I would bring a lamb.
If I were a wise man, I would do my part.
Yet what I can, I give Him, give Him my heart..
    .
Indeed, I will give my heart, as open and as wide as His arms on the cross for me..(I pray) and I will listen, and read and carry the gift of Jesus as I go..
    .
    Amen.
    .
RACHAEL MYERS, when did your little person, now of driving age, arrive at ‘grown up’? Wow, I really must be getting older!.
    .
Happy Monday my loves. Be blessed and wrap up warm.. it is freezing here! Sending warming love covered in hugs..❤️
