Grace Day

Open Your Bible

1 Thessalonians 5:23-24

Take this day to catch up on your reading, pray, and rest in the presence of the Lord.

Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely. And may your whole spirit, soul, and body be kept sound and blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful; he will do it.
—1 Thessalonians 5:23–24

…HE will do it. YES He will because I sure can’t. I cannot and will not do ANYTHING without my JESUS! Thanking my JESUS this morning for good sleep (almost 8 hours), the sun is UP (though it’s 39 degrees), received a text from Rhonda J and here I am on Grace Day hanging out with you beautiful She’s! Happy Saturday sweeties! Ok….confession time…last couple days I had a stinky attitude with a few things at work, not the TK teachers just staff and other things going on at the workplace and have felt disappointed in their job performance that effects the rest of us. Taking a deep breath (or as we do in TK..”a bunny breath”). However I did apologize to our TK teachers as they “saw” my stinky attitude. Their response? GRACE! sigh….God is good!

  22. Carrie Gulliford says:

This verse perfectly reminds us that God is faithful in all seasons and trials. While we are unclean sinners, our hope is in Him.

One week ago tomorrow, my brother was in a horrific accident. He had severe bleeding on his brain and several broken bones. He is currently showing signs of movement and waking up, but I know he has a long road. I know our God can and will restore him. Could you join me in praying for him? His name is Sean, and he loves our sweet Jesus.

  26. Brandi Young says:

Loved this first week! Going to listen to the podcast as well since M E mentioned it! I think it would be the perfect background while I’m cleaning for Sabbath!

  27. M E says:

The srt podcast talking about “I don’t want your sacrifices, I want your obedience” Along with having spiritual amnesia. stuck out to me.

    1. Rhonda J. says:

Yes, that’s a good phrase Spiritual Amnesia! I always refer to us as Stiff-necked Israelites! We forget the miracles so quickly and go right back to grumbling and complaining and wanting what we want!

  28. Rhonda J. says:

    Efficiency vs. Effectiveness
    Busyness vs. Purposeful
    Attendance vs. Serving
    Loving vs. Investment
    Flourishing vs. Discipleship
    Self vs. Him
    Priorities vs. Kingdom

I have looked at my life, examined it, and know what is important. Family, love, laughter…relationships. But it is all summed up in Him. What does he want my life to look like? How do I surrender to His will over my will? How do I live like he is my center, my everything? Does my life show it? It’s not about making it known, my “religion,” yet if I have passion about something it is evident. I can’t but help it. My passion is Jesus, not my church, not my pastor, not my works. Although I believe strongly that we need to be in a good, Bible preaching, serving church, and in a small group where you can grow together in the word. Our closest relationships (spouse) and children need to be faith driven. We need to be in scripture, putting it in our heart and meditating on it and memorizing. We need to KNOW we are in a spiritual battle against darkness. We need to take time to FAST to draw closer to God in sacrifice and dependence. All these things will produce fruits and let the sanctification happen. It is a willing clay giving the Potter control.
Whatever is going on in your world today, God is in control, he sees you, he loves you, he will not let go. Cling tight.

Have you heard the new song Flowers? It is such a pretty little lyrical song about God planting seeds in the valley and being grateful. I am so grateful for the valleys where God watered and grew flowers in my life!! Praise God, he is for us, not against us!!

    1. Searching says:

      ❤️

    2. Cee Gee says:

Great song, Rhonda, and new to me. Thanks for sharing and for the encouragement! ❤
      Flowers by Samantha Ebert
      Chorus
“So I brought it up in a desperate prayer
Lord, why are you keeping me here?
Then He said to me, “Child, I’m planting seeds
I’m a good God and I have a good plan
So trust that I’m holding a watering can
And someday you’ll see that flowers grow in the valley”

      1. AZ Walker says:

Thank you dear Cee Gee, all I could find was an old song by Miley Cirus! Praying for so many here. Praying Danielle B’s surgery and recovery goes smoothly. Praying for those suffering with fears and anxiety. Praying for our friends and loved ones who don’t know Jesus.

    3. Danielle B says:

Amen He is in control. Everything in this last year prepared me for the news announced to me this week and I know I can trust God even though it wasn’t news I would have asked for in my life. God will use this too!

For those not on Facebook, on Wednesday a tumor was found in my right temporal lobe and has been there for some time. They suspect it is benign. They plan to remove it in the next week or two. I need trust God with the work I miss, which is not easy for me. I covet all prayers.

      1. Wendy B says:

Danielle, I am sorry you have received this news. May the Lord’s peace surround you, His presence bring strength and the surgery be the means of complete healing, in Jesus name, Amen✝️

      4. Tina says:

Danielle B, what a blow that must be, BUT GOD..
Keep Him in the forfront of everything. He is the great Physician, the keeper of promises to NEVER leave nor forsake. He has you in His sights and hands.. lifting you in prayers dear sister.. hopeful you will know peace as you wait for the surgery..
        Blessings Danielle..❤️❤️
