Scripture Reading: Isaiah 6:1-13, Isaiah 7:1-25, Isaiah 8:1-10, 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24
“I need a volunteer.”
If I said this when my kids were younger, hands would shoot up in the air; they would jump on their toes and shout “me, me, me” until I chose one of them to help. It’s not quite like that anymore. My kids are older, and they have learned that what I need a volunteer for is not always something they want to do. Nowadays when I say, “I need a volunteer,” most often the response back is, “for what?” They want to know if this is a “take out the trash, unload the dishwasher, take the dog out” kind of invitation or if it is something they’d actually enjoy. They want to know the nature of the work before they give their answer.
This passage is one of the most well-known in the whole book of Isaiah. The words, “Here I am. Send me,” have become precious to so many missionaries, ministers, and faithful Jesus followers who want to be used by God.
What struck me reading it this morning was the fact that Isaiah gave God his yes before he knew all that God was asking him to do. The message he was to take to God’s people was filled with hard words about God’s coming justice. Isaiah was told many would respond to his words with deaf ears and hardened hearts. But Isaiah didn’t wait to have all those pieces put together for him before he raised his hand to be God’s helper.
Why? Because he had just experienced the glory and grace of God. He saw the Lord in all His beauty. He heard the worship offered to a deserving God. He was humbled by the true weight of sin, and instead of being destroyed in the presence of God, he was purified.
He got caught up in the glory and grace of almighty God.
He was not sure about the nature of the work, but he was sure about the nature of His God.
I am humbled by this. Far too often my heart toward obeying God feels more like my kids’, “for what?” and less like Isaiah faithfully saying, “here I am.” I need the reminder of the glory and grace of God that I have also experienced. I know God to be holy and worthy of worship. I also know that my sin has been met with the grace of God through our Lord Jesus.
After reading our passage, I am praying that God will grow in me a greater love for His glory and a more intimate experience of His grace that I may obey with joy all that He has called me to.

I am a fixer, I want to sort situations and be proactive. Reading this has made me realise perhaps it’s not happening because its not God’s plan but mine. Today I pray for obedience and faith that all things will happen in God’s time, not mine!
Sometimes I read a “Day”, like today I’m reading Day 3, (I understood the part about “send me!) But what really helped me understand the whole lesson, was the
Reading this passage and Devo brought these lyrics to mind: “I give You my yes. You can have it.

I want to be the type of woman who tells the Lord that I will follow him, before I know all the details. I am such a planner and want to know what is going to happen. I pray that God will grow my faith in this area.
I couldn’t agree more, Jennifer. I found myself praying for the same thing after the reflection today. May God bless you.

Praising God for His Holiness and Mercy upon sinners like me, may I respond like Isaiah when he calls me. ❤️
I am a few days behind but I was struck by the interactions between Isaiah and Ahaz – God said ‘if you do not stand firm in your faith, then you will not stand at all’. From our study of Hebrews 11 we learned that Jesus is the author/pioneer of our faith. I pray that Jesus will give me faith to believe and to act as He wills no matter the trial or test that comes my way!!
Yes! My prayer is to be so overcome with who He is, that I would not second guess anything He might ask or call me to do.
❤️
Amen.
I pray that I will say “Yes, here I am, send me” when called. Amen! ❤✝️

Praying for your daughter Teresa.
Here I am. Send me. I have often prayed that I would consistently hear the lord clearly. In my heart of hearts I hope that if or when I do, this is my first response!
I am so lifted up by God’s Word, and all your reflections.
My daughter is having her fourth chemotherapy treatment today. It’s the last of the one she has every two weeks. In two weeks, she will start chemotherapy every week for 12 weeks. Please pray for few side effects and complete healing. And for strength and faith for her, her husband and kids. I have faith God will heal her and see us all through this. But sometimes, it all just feels so heavy.
I’m praying for all the requests.
Teresa, I will pray for you, your daughter, and family! May the treatments do their job with minimal impact to her well-being and the family’s. ❤
Continued prayers for your daughter and trust in our Healer!!

“In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord…” (Isaiah 6:1). Who has to die for us to personally see the Lord? Will we see the Lord on a bright sunny day? Or when a “king” we adored and looked up to so much like the way Isaiah did to King Uzziah, on a day of mourning. This is very deep. Who died for the Lord to appear in your life and my life? We can take a step further to ask ourselves on a bigger aspect, switching from who to what. What died when I saw the Lord? For me it has been my things, the death of certain relationships, big dreams and longings (perhaps to wrong goals and things- when those died, a part of me also died). It takes being stuck between a rock and a hard place. Oh the Rock (Jesus) and the hard place, always hand in hand. That sweet place, in which we see the Lord. May you see the Lord if your circumstance involves hardship…and may you have the first hand experience like Isaiah did, that you can look back and say, “In the year of 2025…something died, and I saw the Lord sitting on the throne”. Glory to Him. His words are so sweet. His wisdom for us is unsearchable.

I want to say thank you all for your prayers concerning my
husband’s stroke
He is now in rehab and has quite a ways to go but the medical
team is confident that he will make a full recovery! After 38 years of marriage with very few
separations it is hard to be
apart from him,but I am using the time to grow closer to the ONE who truly sees me and will use this situation for my good and his glory! Thankful for a
community where I can ask for and
recieve prayers in time of need
Praying for a full recovery for your husband, strength for your family.
Bless your heart, R! I would encourage you to also use the time to rest up for when your husband is released because he will still need you for a while. ❤
Oh R! That is good news that he will make a full recovery!! Halelu-JAH! Praise God!! How scary it all must have been. I’m so glad you are leaning on Jesus in this hard time!! The one who sees you and will comfort you!
This is encouraging news – praise the Lord and may improvements and healing continue. I can appreciate that being apart is difficult. Being a support and caregiving can be taxing and so use this time to fully rest and strengthen yourself in heart, mind and body and fully relying on Jesus so you have all you need for what is ahead.
Praying for you and your husband
Hello Shes
A scene from the 90s rom-com “Jerry Maguire” popped into my head. Where towards the end of the movie Dorothy says to Jerry, “You had me at ‘Hello’.”
At the voice of the Lord Isaiah was “all in” an unknown assignment. Before he knew how difficult, how demanding, He knew his God would secure him, strengthen him.
“He who calls you is faithful; He will do it”.
(1 Thessalonians 5:24).
We are not characters in a Hollywood movie, but we can be actors ready to appear in our given roles. The ones being planned & designed & orchestrated by the most Masterful Director.
I am studying Luke in the Land right now and the topic this week: saying yes to God when big risk is involved. We were asked to think of examples. There are so many! ❤
Help me to say yes
unconditionally!!!!!
Loved this! Such a great reminder, “Here I am. send me.”
Here I am. Send me. Takes on a different meaning. May I always have a heart and mind ready and willing to serve without question.
Oh, Jamin Roller, I am so much like your children. I was thinking that, and then you spelled it out.
.
Lord, help me to answer your call before I ever say, “For what?”
I love the phrase “obey with joy.” I tell my kids that, but I need a constant reminder myself to do the same when my Holy Father asks of me.
Oh I bet they love that, lol!! And yes, I would like to adopt that as my phrase! “Obey with Joy! Yes Lord!
“…the train of his robe filled the temple.” Isaiah 6:1 of course made me think of the song Behold Him Now, which is one of my favorites
https://youtu.be/lvZh9DxSIps?si=n0dcjq8KAjPrbsCs
So often, I think even though I say I am willing or say yes, my obedience really has a caveat of “I’ll do anything but maybe not ______(fill in the blank). Its the yes of, I do want to fully submit to doing something, but still hold onto the comforts, convenience or familiar and not venture to the unknown. I want all the info first, the whole picture and then I’ll decide but am reminded of the very common phrase of “He equips the called.” I just need to be willing, submissive and trust that the Lord is who He says He is, His way and His will for my life and how He desires for me to serve is not outside of the ways He can move and lead to equip me to fulfill His purposes. Knowing the nature of God needs to be sufficient for my obedience to all He has for me as I serve Him.
I would appreciate your prayers as I have scans today to monitor the cancer/tumor I have. We are continually praying for a miracle and know God is able. Best outcome would be that I am healed. Next best would be that there has been no change or growth and that it’s stable and I do not have to begin treatment. Thank you for praying❤️
Yes, perfectly said Wendy B!! Prayers for your scans to be positive- tumor gone!! Complete healing, thank you Jesus!! You are a healer, by your stripes we ARE healed!! We thank you ahead of time for your miracles and your love! Keep our precious Wendy strong, no matter what shall come, she is already a testament of your faithfulness! She strengthens us with her wisdom and total trust in YOU!! In Jesus name!! Amen!!
So beautifully said, Wendy B. Praying for miraculous and complete healing ❤️

Sisters, I just found this song on youtube: Bring Me Back |A Cry for Redemption and Peace/ English-Hebrew Messianic Worship Song
.
Based on Jeremiah 24:7, but so fitting for today’s read. Part of the song is in Hebrew with lyrics. Powerful, powerful to hear in Hebrew and read the English translation. I encourage you to listen. It is about 8 minutes long, but left me in worshipful tears.

The devotional written by the guest writer today is so good. I wrote down some other instances in Scripture where people are humbled in the presence of God. Matt 17:6, when Jesus is transfigured. Luke 5:8, when Peter is called (the scene from “The Chosen” is brought to mind… so powerful.)
❤️
I love how Isaiah said “Here I am. Send me”
And out his faith entirely in Gods Hands. No questions asked.
I’m the one that shies away from things. I don’t like to be the center of attention. Or take on a challenge I don’t feel capable of. When am I going to trust that God will bring me through it? That if He asks me to do something He will provide the strength and the way. I needed this reminder of God’s nature. He won’t make me go it alone.
Same, Traci! ❤ amen!
I am the same, BUT GOD, amazingly He is equipping me like I could never have imagined!! I had mentors that kept pushing me gently to keep trying even though I was awful!! lol! (at leading and praying!) And now it is something I LOVE SO much!!
Amen! ❤️

The podcast this week is so good. If you haven’t listened to it yet, you should! I learned so much. Praying for all the request and thanking God for SRT and all of you.
Isaiah 7:9
“Unless your faith is firm,
I cannot make you stand firm.”
.
This is sobering in 2 ways:
1) God will not (though He can do anything) circumvent our free will.
–
2) We often miss opportunities for refinement because we aren’t willing to say yes out of fear for our body or emotions.
.
Do we allow God to do that refining work in our lives – for His glory- or do we focus in the pain or inconvenience it causes us if we go all in? I am thankful for examples like Isaiah, a true testimony of one who is ‘all-in’.
.
Love, hugs, and prayers! ❤
Thank you for your thoughts.❤️
❤
Thanks for sharing, Cee Gee. ❤️ It makes me think about how, similarly, to experience the magnitude of God’s faithfulness and providence, we must be willing to step out in obedience and be faithful even when it’s uncomfortable or difficult.
Yes, Christy! ❤
So well said, Cee Gee. And sobering.
❤
That we would put our “yes” on the table before the Lord asks anything of us, always trusting that He knows best and not relying on our strength, but His. (easier said that done) Remind me of this everyday so that even in the little things, I can be used to give glory to God.
Amen ❤️
I’m caught up in Your presence
I just want to sit here at Your feet
I’m caught up in this holy moment
I never wanna leave
Nothing Else by Cody Carnes
This chorus keeps coming to mine today. I just want to be ready to say to the Lord I’m a woman of unclean lips and then have the Lord come send someone to come and touch my lips. Then I’ll be ready to say here. I am Lord. Send me.
I love everyone’s insights and I’m praying for all of you. Praying everyone has been safe from storms and floods and fires in just this world.
In the midst of everything going on, I know one thing for certain . Got his faithful, loving kind, and just you are all so amazing!
I don’t know that I know that song, thanks for sharing! Praying you are healing up fast Cheryl!
Cheryl, that song always blesses me so and I haven’t heard it in a while. Thank you for reminding me of it. I can’t sing it without tears, tho! ❤
.
RHONDA, I bet you know this song! ❤
♥️
When you think about what God could do if He wanted… the power He has to ruin lives, destroy whole cities, wipe out nations, cover the entire world with a flood… and yet He is also so powerful that He sends blessings, gives grace, extends loved to anyone who will receive it. To think that He could send me to an eternal lake of fire, but He loves so much, He chooses to love and care for and provide for and be here for any situation I’m in…. how can I not serve Him?
Amen Kris, it is over-whelming! How can I not honor and serve Him with all that I am?!
Isaiah is a difficult read and going to the Enduring Word for context did not help.
“Hear I Am Lord”, is a song sung with every mission trip. May I sing it each morning and as I move through my day! Lent begins today. Praying for all.
We just did a study on Isaiah by Warren Wiersbe, called “Be Hopeful!” I learned so much from that book, because the first time around on my own reading Isaiah was so confusing! Highly recommend! “CeeGee shares a lot of commentary from him as well!
It really is! I just re- listened to The Bible recap day 191 on utube. Tara Leigh Cobble provides a lot of details and context for Isaiah 5-8.
I will go look for that episode. Thank you!
Beautiful
We need to just say yes. He will supply the rest. If we love and trust Him we will obey His commands! He has good plans for us!
Yes, Reminds me of Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans you have for me, says the Lord, not to harm you, but to prosper, to give you a hope and a future!”
With Him, ALL things are possible! He will work out all the details, we just need to trust and obey!
Great Devo today in context of the Isaiah passages! Lord, send Me!! Am I willing? It has been hard to break free of my fleshly self, and I am still trying. I like to do what makes ME feel good. I like to go when I want to. But I can tell you I have been trying to move by the Holy Spirit more and more and be open to hear. My joy for the Lord overflows, finding his Majesty and Glory propels me to be a light in return! I WANT everyone to know and respond! When I serve and see what God can do by using us as his servants it inspires me even more!! When you are being a disciple for the Lord, you overflow with blessings and are a blessing to others.
God has a purpose and plan for all of His children, wouldn’t it be a shame to see all he had for us, yet we squandered it all away by being caught up in worldly desires? I love the stories of Ester and Ruth, and even the great Priestess Anna. God wants to use us in powerful and nightly ways, even if it doesn’t seem overwhelming to us. It could be a simple meal taking to a neighbor, mowing the yard for a single mom, going to jail to show them Jesus love for them, or serving the homeless a meal. SO many ways!! Praying for someone that had a hard day! I hope we will all yield each morning to lean in in prayer to ask God to use us. Provide an opening!
Faith and good deeds. Without deeds, is faith still alive? So sweet and so much to think about ♥️♥️♥️
“He was not sure about the nature of the work, but he was sure about the nature of his God”
How different would my mindset be each day if I lived this truth? I pray that God will guide my heart and mind to focus on His nature and goodness instead of my mortality!
Meagan, praying that today you and your start to see things falling into place and that your little one will adjust quickly to the temporary change.
Deuteronomy 31:8 –
Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.
.
Hugs, little sis! ❤
Amen….yes, need to adopt that mindset too.
God, give us special grace to joyfully obey in our toughest assignments. ❤️
I love a good passage that points us to the throne room, and I especially love this one hearing Isaiah’s sight of the robe filling the temple with glory. Our God is One to behold. And we are unworthy and yet justified and continually sanctified.
I pray that I too will obey with joy all God has for me. I praise and thank Him for the blood of Christ.
May I grow in my understanding of God by reading the book of Isaiah!
❤️
“He was not sure about the nature of the work, but he was sure about the nature of his God”
Wow.
I loved this statement as well!
❤️
One of my favorite hymns!

Wow, there’s a lot going on in these 3 chapters. The confession and forgiveness of Isaiah and his acceptance of God’s call on his life, the Lord revealing so much of His future plan, showing His knowledge of everything now and to come, His attention to detail …take your son to this exact place and meet with the king of Judah, he will be there.
Whether you are a believer or a denier, the Lord’s plan will continue to happen. Nothing, no one, can stop Almighty God and His eternal plans.
.
So, am I (1) going my own way and thinking I know something He doesn’t, or (2) believing Him, listening to Him, heeding His warnings and following His guidance?
Looks like a simple, straightforward choice but how many times (a day?!) do I get it wrong? Thankful for His forgiveness, and that He knows my true heart for Him.

Amen. Here I am Lord!
Holy and mighty God,
You are high and lifted up, and Your glory fills the earth. Like Isaiah, we stand before You, aware of our sinfulness, unworthy of Your presence. Yet in Your mercy, You cleanse and call us. Thank You for the forgiveness we receive through Christ, our Immanuel, who took on flesh to dwell among us.
Lord, in times of uncertainty, strengthen our faith. When we are tempted to trust in worldly solutions, remind us that You alone are our refuge and strength. Help us to stand firm in Your promises, knowing that no scheme of man can prevail against You.
As You sent Isaiah, send us. Give us boldness to proclaim Your truth, even when the world resists it. Let our lives reflect Your holiness, and may our words and actions bear witness to the hope we have in Christ.
In Jesus’ name we pray,
Amen.

I love how our devotion writer points out how Isaiah is overwhelmed by the glory and grace of God, seated on His throne, and hearing the worship offered, Isaiah is immediately aware and humbled by the weight of his sin and the sin of his people.
Father God, may the weight of my sin bring immediate repentance so that I may come humbly to You for purification!
I was thinking the same, Sally B. I pray I will be overwhelmed by the glory and grace of God as well. I pray I see my son as He does and quickly repent. I also appreciated the writer’s honesty. We fall short of anything we should be for God. May our hearts and lives be forever changed and desire to say “Yes, Lord. Send me.” Whether it is to the Church to serve, to another city or nation to witness. Or just to our own family. May our lips speak of Him and His glory and grace each and every day.
