Isaiah 43:1

Scripture is God breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry His Word with us wherever we go.

During this reading plan, we will memorize our key verse, Isaiah 43:1. We’ll memorize a portion of the verse each week and spend time committing the whole verse to memory at the end of Week 5. This week, we’ll start with the first line of the verse.

Now this is what the Lord says—
the one who created you, Jacob,
and the one who formed you, Israel—
“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by your name; you are mine.”
—Isaiah 43:1

Daylight Savings in California or at least this side of the U.S. So those of us over here lost an hour of sleep. I tried to go to bed early, it didn’t happen. BUT I feel great! OK…back to our devo. IF the Lord says it. I believe it! God is good! Even when things don’t go has “I” have planned, God is still good, as MY daddy knows best! Speaking of daddy, my earthly daddy. On Friday we have assembly at school and this past Friday we had awards for one student in-each class for exhibiting good character and other . It didn’t surprise me the student my teacher chose. Though I try not to have favorites, the student chosen is secretly my favorite, I have mentioned that to his parents before. It puts a smile on their faces. Stay with me….after the assembly his mom and grandparents who showed up for the awards, the grandma looked at me and said she remembered me from the doctors office I use to work at (many years ago when I was in my early 20’s) then she proceeded to tell me she also remembered me (I didn’t remember) when she took care of my daddy during dialysis. My heart…. she remembered my daddy, she must of remembered how sometimes I would go sit with my daddy during dialysis. Made my heart glad she took good care of my daddy. Sorry as I went off on a whole different subject, but it was nice to be remembered and especially that it involved my daddy. Happy Sunday sweeties!

  24. Rhonda J. says:

I have called you by name Rhonda, you are mine!!

Good Morning my beautiful sisters in Christ and precious friends I have grown to love and cherish!! Walking beside people that you don’t even know, but know!

We, sisters, are called by a special name, His beloved, his child, his chosen- loved and spotless in Jesus Christ! Our old life is gone, our sins forgotten and no longer, the old selfish ways- shown mercy and grace.

Some days it certainly doesn’t feel like it- I feel like the flesh Rhonda, letting my emotions get the best of me, my achy hurting body wear me down, my self-serving attitude rearing it’s head. Fear and trepidation scaring me. But, But…BUT GOD!! We forget HOW MIGHTY He is, the one that moves mountains, parts seas, walks on water, is there right beside us holding us tight through every day, no matter what comes. But we have to give up OUR want to “control” and “fix-it” ways and learn to surrender. Trust and obey, at every step. He gives us the lamp at our feet to light our path…think of that. It’s not a flashlight pointing to our goal, it is one step in trusting each step of our life. I know it talks of this through Paul that we wouldn’t even want what is ahead if we saw it all at once. He gives us little steps at a time to keep building our faith, endurance, strength, and trust. We think that loving Jesus and ministering and serving him that everything will come easily and wonderfully. But no disciple will have an easy path. It is challenging and hard, and persecution comes at all corners. Are we ready for that!? Do we want it ….YES, Send me Lord!! May I keep my eyes on you, and know that your plans for me are good and perfect!!

I missed first service!! Time to get ready before I miss second service!! Be blessed today!!

“Do Not Be Afraid” appears in the Bible 365 times which is one verse for each day of the year. Anxiety, depression, mental illness etc. consumes more people than we realize in this world today. It does not discriminate. But the Lord Jesus shows us that he is with us every moment of every day. Trust and believe in the Lord our God today to take your anxiety, depression and all other mental illnesses away as you give ALL of it over to him. HE sees YOU and calls YOU by name because YOU are HIS! AMEN

I heard a little different verse a long time ago as a young girl, but began the series The Chosen in November. The very first episode of the first series, this verse is played out multiple times by Mary Magdeline’s father and herself. I knew this verse was for me throughout the show but this verse hit me like a ton of bricks, from head to toe. Whole body radiated with warmth, goosebumps throughout and tears pouring out of my eyes like flood waters when Jesus shows up and says this verse to Mary.

Now this is what the Lord says—
the one who created you, Jacob,
and the one who formed you, Israel—
    “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by your name; you are mine.”
    —Isaiah 43:1

I knew right then and there, he was calling me by name and I am his! Thank you SRT for allowing me to be a part of this journey with you!

    Also in Chapter 43:
“‘…5’Do not be afraid, for I am with you.
I will gather you and your children from east and west.
6 I will say to the north and south,
‘Bring my sons and daughters back to Israel from the distant corners of the earth.
7 Bring all who claim me as their God,
for I have made them for my glory.
It was I who created them.’”

Thinking of Same God by Elevation and The Same Power by Jeremy Camp.
    .
    The Same Power
    I can see
    Waters raging at my feet
    I can feel
The breath of those surrounding me
    I can hear
The sound of nations rising up
    We will not be overtaken
    We will not be overcome

    I can walk
Down this dark and painful road
    I can face
    Every fear of the unknown
    I can hear
    All God’s children singing out
    We will not be overtaken
    We will not be overcome

The same power that rose Jesus from the grave
The same power that commands the dead to wake
Lives in us, lives in us
The same power that moves mountains when He speaks
The same power that can calm a raging sea
Lives in us, lives in us
He lives in us, lives in us

    We have hope
    That His promises are true
    In His strength
There is nothing we can’t do
    Yes, we know
There are greater things in store
    We will not be overtaken
    We will not be overcome

The same power that rose Jesus from the grave
The same power that commands the dead to wake
Lives in us, lives in us
The same power that moves mountains when He speaks
The same power that can calm a raging sea
Lives in us, lives in us
He lives in us, lives in us
Greater is He that is living in me
    He’s conquered our enemy
    No power of darkness
    No weapon prevails
    We stand here in victory

Greater is He that is living in me
    He’s conquered our enemy
    No power of darkness
    No weapon prevails
    We stand here in victory

    Oh, in victory

The same power that rose Jesus from the grave
The same power that commands the dead to wake
Lives in us, lives in us
The same power that moves mountains when He speaks
The same power that can calm a raging sea
Lives in us, lives in us
He lives in us, lives in us

    God, he lives in us.

I honestly struggle with this lately. It says that God calls us by name, but I am so shamefully embarrassed of my name. One of my favorite songs says “I healed your heart, I CHANGED your name” I pray that God doesn’t see me the way that the world sees me, where I am embarrassed of my name. Where I am ashamed every time I have to say my name out loud. I can’t help but to feel like, “please God, don’t call me by that name. That’s not who I am* I pray that He sees me as more. I pray that He sees me as better than what my name means in the world.

I pray God brings a new light to your eyes for for your name, and breaks every chain associated. Maybe God can use you to show young people the beauty in your name which means ‘pure’ and pure hearted!!

    Psalm 24

1 The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it.
The world and all its people belong to him.
2 For he laid the earth’s foundation on the seas
and built it on the ocean depths.

3 Who may climb the mountain of the Lord?
Who may stand in his holy place?
4 Only those whose hands and hearts are pure,
    who do not worship idols
    and never tell lies.
5 They will receive the Lord’s blessing
and have a right relationship with God their savior.
6 Such people may seek you
and worship in your presence, O God of Jacob.

    7 Open up, ancient gates!
    Open up, ancient doors,
and let the King of glory enter.
8 Who is the King of glory?
    The Lord, strong and mighty;
    the Lord, invincible in battle.
    9 Open up, ancient gates!
    Open up, ancient doors,
and let the King of glory enter.
10 Who is the King of glory?
    The Lord of Heaven’s Armies—
he is the King of glory.

and the one who formed you, Israel—
    “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by your name; you are mine”
    .
    .
I imagined these words were to me, today, the cowardly sinner, who often forgets who her God is..
Now this is what my Father God, Lord of my heart and lover of said heart says—
    .

..the One who created you, TINA
    .
and the One who formed you,
    .
    “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you, TINA;
I have called you by your name; your real and given name, CHRISTIANA, you are mine”
    .
This is so what I needed to hear this morning, and every day…
I shall write these on my heart and my mirrors so when I am forgetful of this gift of re-leasing and beautiful words, I need only look at myself in the mirror..
    .
Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you,
    I have set you free..,
I have un-chained you from all your bondage..
I have re-leased you from all that hold you captive..
    I have bought your freedom..
