Lamentations 3:22-23

Text: Lamentations 3:22-23

We believe memorizing scripture is one of the best ways to carry the Word of our God with us wherever we go—to have God-breathed truth, instruction and reproof in our hearts and minds as we live unto Him each day.

This week we’ve chosen a promise to keep close this Lenten season.

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.”
-Lamentations 3:22-23, ESV

Write this verse down—copy it twenty time if that helps! Post it on your mirror or at your desk, in your car or on the fridge—anywhere you’ll see it often. Save the image below as your phone’s lock screen so you can read these words of truth throughout the day.

We want to be a community that is intentional about scripture memorization. Will you join us?

    I purchased the workbook version of this study and it came with two of the beautiful prints of verses, including this one. I put it in a frame in our bathroom. It's been there since Ash Wednesday and may stay there forever! My husband and I are two months into the restoration our marriage after a long period of infidelity. This verse reminds us that God's love never left us and never will leave us. It is also the basis for one of my favorite hymns, "Great is Thy Faithfulness." Morning by morning new mercies I see. All I have needed, thy hand hath provided, Great is thy faithfulness, Lord unto me. I've learned so much about mercy in the restoration process. It is different than grace. Grace is a gift God give us although we don't deserve it. Mercy happens when God refrains (or we refrain) from punishing someone whom the world would say deserves to be punished. Showing mercy to a repentant spouse can be possible only through the steadfast love of God. Mercy allows each day to be a new beginning for our marriage.

      Thank you for sharing! As my marriage goes through a very hard time, and now unfortunately entering into separation, I was just thinking that I already read this today but I wanted to look and see if there were any new comments. Yours was the first that popped into my screen and although my situation may be different, it reminded me there is always hope in our Lord, regardless of what outer circumstances may be showing :)

    What amazing, incomparable love God has for us! Oh to be filled with such love! This description of God’s love gives a whole new meaning to the phrase “to love as God loves.” Would You, Father, teach my heart to love like You – steadfast and not dependent on what others do to me but motivated completely by what You’ve already done for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

    Definitely needed this reminder today. How beautiful and comforting to know that no matter what happened in the past, Gods love is consistent and each day brings a new chance to live faithfully.
