Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the good news of Jesus with us wherever we go.
This week we will finish our memorization of our key passage with the final section, which further highlights Jesus’s compassion for the people He ministered to.
Jesus continued going around to all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every sickness. When he saw the crowds, he felt compassion for them, because they were distressed and dejected, like sheep without a shepherd.
—Matthew 9:35–36

@LINDA praying for your daughter in this scary situation. I also pray for her husband who desperately needs help as well. My dad attempted to commit suicide in May so I know how helpless it can feel. Praying for her safety and her fur babies as well as they are family too. @KATHY STOUT so sorry to hear about the loss of your brother. It is truly heartbreak for everybody. @JENNI I know so many have given such great advice. The best way I learned I have found is through memorizing scripture. I also find The Bible Project on YouTube helpful as well.

Praying
Sorry Linda I read that wrong, your daughter and son-in-law!
Praying for your sister and brother in law Linda. I lost my brother to suicide in September. It’s heartbreaking all around. Praying to our God of miracles for a miracle here so no other family has to experience this loss! Oh Father come and heal this man. Heal his mind. We call down a mind of Christ be released into him. Father touch him in his sleep or his manic state. Give him a vision of life on earth as it is in Heaven that he’ll turn from listening to the wrong voice of evil and will dial into Your voice. We ask for all of Linda’s sister’s angels to be on assignment for her protection. May she hear Holy Spirit clearly directing her steps to safety including her animals safety. I ask this all in The Name of Jesus.
Jesus is my King

Jenni, I don’t have anything to add except that I have found reading different versions of Bible have helped me to understand it better. As someone else mentioned you can do that by clicking on the verses with the devotional.
I’m praying for all request. Mental illness is nothing to be taken lightly but there are resources out there to help — one in I highly recommend is NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) — they provide free courses.
Sisters, be blessed and we can always learn more about our God, Christ and the Holy Spirit.
Jesus is my Shepherd
Lord God Father of all humankind, thank You for being there for me when I need You. Christ Jesus Almighty Son of God thank You for being my shepherd in my times of confusion, helplessness, destitute, sorrow and despair. Holy Spirit of Almighty God thank You for remaining in me and being my strength, faith and fortitude in my hard and bad times. Lord God, Christ Jesus, Holy Spirit, I know I DO NOT say it often enough BUT THANK YOU for being there in the good times and allowing for the good times. In the name of my Almighty God, amen.
@Linda, sorry, I meant I’m praying for your daughter.
@Linda, while you are probably sleeping, I’m over here in Hong Kong praying for God’s protection, comfort and guidance over your sister. ❤️
@linda I am praying for your daughter’s safety. May God intervene!
Praying Linda! God protect Linda’s daughter in this scary situation, we pray that she is able to somehow separate from her husband in a safe way, and that you guide her decisions, and allow her to navigate correctly, trusting in you. We don’t know what’s ahead, but you do Lord, and we will rely on your protection for this daughter, and raise her up to YOU, thank your Father God, our protector and armor in every situation, NO request in too small or too big. Be with our sister Linda as a mom as she worries, give her peace that you love your children and that you hear us, In Jesus name, amen.
Happy Sunday Shes!
Jenni- so glad you have joined us!! Even growing up as a Christian, I found understanding the whole of the bible was so confusing; learning certain stories and bits and pieces of what churches wanted to preach about God! But it wasn’t until I started reading the bible myself, using a daily study bible, and SRT studies/podcasts that over time (years) that I started absorbing the whole beautiful story as God’s GREAT LOVE STORY of CREATING HIS PEOPLE, yet giving us our free will, and How Jesus came finally to bring His people to HIM once and for all! Each SRT study I’m drawn into the little details/picture of the BIG picture! So keep with it! You will desire more and more! It’s amazing also, the comments from the ladies here, that give different insights and wisdom and how it applies in their walk with the Lord!
At church today the message emphasized, as we tend to forget, that we are ALL born separated from God, and until we come to him, no matter how and where we are in our life, He wants us, as we are…to come to him. Only then, when we acknowledge Jesus sacrificed it all for each one of us, he is the only way to be right with God. There is nothing you can do to earn points, or to clean yourself up, it is only through Jesus Christ. Come to Him today….lay down your burdens. Confess and rest in his arms.
Sisters, in urgent need of intercessory prayer today. My daughter is in a very dangerous situation. Her husband is mentally ill and refuses to get help. He has numerous guns and recently has expressed thoughts of suicide. They have three dogs and a cat and she’s afraid if she leaves without the animals he’ll kill them. She is planning on filing for divorce and is contacting attorneys tomorrow. I’m so concerned for her safety. I’m praying but knowing that others will too would be a blessing. Thank you.
Amen
Praising Jesus for His compassion for us all today ❤️

Jenni, The Bible can be confusing! I made it a goal to read through the Bible and found the chronological Bible very helpful. I also use Enduring Word commentary to help with specific verses and studies. You can download the app and have it on your device. Keep reading and you’ll be amazed at how God reveals truths if Himself.
Jenni- if you have questions, that is a good thing! That means learning is going to take place. If you see harshness in the parables, I promise,
If you stick with it God’s mercy(loving kindness) will come through. If you see his teaching as a means of protection rather than a bunch of do and do not’s it will start to make sense.
Jen Wilkin is a Bible teacher and her book Women of the Word is a must have resource to teach you how to study rather than always relying on others. I actually became acquainted with her on SRT podcast.
Kristi McClellan is also another (Jesus and women) (pearls podcast) and Kelly Minter (cultivate podcast ) she also has studies.

Hi Jenni – I would suggest going to your local church, finding books written on the bible, finding podcasts on the bible and looking for more information from pastors who have studied the hebrew and greek languages. That’s helped me tremendously with understanding messages, and how eveything is conneected.

JENNI ALLEN, if you tap on the underlined Scriptures on this page, it will open the reading app (BIBLIA by Logos). You can choose a translation (default on SRT is CSB and on HRT it’s ESV). I read in a couple of translations and NET has excellent info on the original language/meaning, etc. You can follow prompts at the end of the Scripture. My Kindle shows “Go deeper,” my laptop shows “study passage,” and my husband’s laptop shows “learn more.” Easy to figure out, tho. Lots of resources there since they are promoting their Study Bible.
BIBLEGATEWAY is another excellent source for free information and for a small monthly fee you have access to lots more.
Have a blessed and renewing Sunday, ladies!
CHERYL BRAXTON – You put my thoughts down perfectly!

This community is a blessing to me n so many ways. My prayer for our community is that we grow , grow, and grow some more in HIM! SRT, thank God for the vision of this ministry and the entire teams hard work to sustain it!
Jenni… I am so thankful you are with us! I’m even more excited that you’re coming with your questions… This! this is exactly how we grow… Becoming vulnerable, and seeking help… we all need Jesus… and He gave us His Word, and others to help us learn to understand His Word and live in a way that brings us peace, strength and joy, and equips us to allow the Holy Spirit to flow through us to others… I got my husband Tony Evans’ Bible Commentary… it is very “down to earth”… easy to understand, just another tool for personal Bible study… we both appreciate it!
I also want to thank all my sisters here who are praying for my daughter in law as she is struggling with her faith and also beginning her breast cancer journey…I’m so grateful that I shared… your responses mean so much… there is power in God’s Word, and
in the prayers of His people!
Have Blessed Sunday, everyone! Love your ♥️s!!
@Jenni Allen – I use The Bible Recap book to help me understand the scriptures more. The book breaks down each chapter of the Bible. It is very helpful and enlightening.
Jenni – It is very helpful to know more about the original languages used,Hebrew and Greek. Often times those original words and idioms do not mean what we think they mean. I have learned much from a pastor who’s services I listen to on a podcast or Rumble. His name is Brandon Holthaus from Rock Harbor Church in Bakersfield CA. When he preaches he goes in depth as to what the original words meant. I learn so much from listening to him.
“1 I will exalt you, Lord,
because you have lifted me up
and have not allowed my enemies
to triumph over me.
2 Lord my God,
I cried to you for help, and you healed me.
3 Lord, you brought me up from Sheol;
you spared me from among those
going down to the Pit.
4 Sing to the Lord, you his faithful ones,
and praise his holy name.
5 For his anger lasts only a moment,
but his favor, a lifetime.
Weeping may stay overnight,
but there is joy in the morning.
10 Lord, listen and be gracious to me;
Lord, be my helper.”
11 You turned my lament into dancing;
you removed my sackcloth
and clothed me with gladness,
12 so that I can sing to you and not be silent.
Lord my God, I will praise you forever” Psalm 30:1-5, 10-12
@Jenni Allen Definitely in-person community in a church (microchurches, huddles, small groups, etc.), but in terms of resources to dive into on your own time: The Bible Project is a great resource. They have videos, podcasts, etc. that are very helpful. The podcasts that coincide with the SRT readings are also fantastic. A study Bible or using the Bible app to read the same Scripture but in different versions of the Bible has helped me see things differently. I also love the Love Thy Neighborhood podcast. It’s more of a storytelling format rather than an educational podcast, but I’ve gotten a ton from them. They’re doing great work. Hope this helps!
@Jenni Allen – investing in a good study Bible is one way to find reliable helps (personal favorite is ESV Study Bible) and in a solid single volume commentarty (like The Moody Bible Commentary)
Let me start with I love bring a part of SRT. I have done reading with this community for almost a year. It’s been fantastic. I was so excited for this study. Honestly, it’s been a struggle for me. I feel like I have more questions than ever and hear such harshness in the parables. I wish I understood more. How do y’all dig deeper in reliable information? I want to know Him more.
