Day 21

Weekly Truth

from the Deuteronomy reading plan

Deuteronomy 6:8-9

BY She Reads Truth

Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry His Word with us wherever we go.

This week, we will continue to memorize the Shema by adding verses 8 and 9. Revisit these verses daily and practice them out loud. Spend some time reviewing the entire passage (Dt 6:4–9) each day to seal these verses into your heart and mind.

4 Listen, Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. 5 Love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. 6 These words that I am giving you today are to be in your heart. 7 Repeat them to your children. Talk about them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 8 Bind them as a sign on your hand and let them be a symbol on your forehead. 9 Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your city gates.
—Deuteronomy 6:4-9

Sweet ERB, thank you for sharing that awesome testimony of blessing! Knowing you through SRT has certainly been a blessing to me so I would say that anointing covered your family as much as it covered your property. We, too, use Scripture art and I love to make and share it. I am praying God’s mercy on you today for your visit with your family! Happy Birthday to SIL! Hugs!!!

Today we are celebrating my SIL’s 30th Birthday!!! So BLESSINGS upon her and this new year and new decade of her’s!!! I am excited to see and my brother, but I need prayers for strength, wisdom and discernment. My body hasn’t & isn’t cooperating with me. I have been battling some pretty severe nausea the past few weeks… as well as brain fog, memory issues, exhaustion, and a few small seizures here & there… so once again I need your prayers!! Thank you sweet sisters!!!

MANDY FERRUGIA, we do the same here at our home!! We have scriptures in almost every room of our small house! They are such a comfort, they give us assurance & encouragement, and they always minister to people, whether they are believers or not!!
…I don’t know why, but I am feeling prompted to tell you a story about my Mum, and what God had her do, so here it goes… at a time when our family was in need, my Mum was prompted by God to take some olive oil (a precious commodity for us at the time) and “anoint the waters” with it (we live on a small lake). So, even though she felt silly & self conscious, that is exactly what she did!! She dumped the olive oil in the lake! And when she did this, it was like our entire property, home included, got anointed, inside and out!! She prayed that all who entered our property and our home, would be blessed, ministered to and touched by God, she also prayed for protection, declaring that nothing would enter here if it wasn’t from God. It was an AMAZING act of faith and trust on her part!! My Mum had no idea the depth of what God was doing, she just OBEYED Him. And ever since that day (years and years ago) God has deeply cleansed, protected, ministered to, and blessed every part of our property, our home and EVERY PERSON who has entered/come onto it. When people come here, they immediately notice a difference, and they ALWAYS ask what it is!! And when they do, my parents always say the same thing “this is God’s house, not ours” …and it is SO true!!! Our home is an active ministry. It is a place for God to do HIS thing!!! ….We never know who is going to enter or when they will come, but we DO know what a BLESSING it is, and has been, to see the faithfulness of God at work, through that one small act of obedience!!
May we always carry Him with us wherever we go and in whatever we do!! ❤️

His Word should be memorized, spoken about, ever before us. Now more then ever that is easy- we can create signs, we can buy Biblical signs to hang, but the heart is that His Word is supposed to be a constant in our heart, on our mouth, before our eyes.

Have loved this study of Deuteronomy with all of you and memorizing the Shema. Thank you, Jesus, for your word.

  7. Kelly says:

Lord, may Your Word be in my home, in my mind (head), and behind every thing I do (hand).

MARI V – may the LORD bless you with a quick recovery and with the patience to rest so that it heals properly.

GRAMSIESUE,JANE K, HANNAH B – praying for your loved ones with COVID.

Praying for all who are battling with anxiety and depression. As you lift up songs of praise today, the spirit of heaviness will flee.

    Blessings to you SHEs ❤

I don’t know if this is what this passage means exactly (I could be taking it too literally), but to me it’s a reminder to not just read my Bible every day but to also cover my home with His word. I love hanging meaningful verses around my apartment, whether its artwork, painted signs, or even just sticky notes on my fridge or around my desk. I love seeing those little reminders of God’s promises throughout my day, and they help me to dwell on His goodness and grace even in the midst of my busy schedule. I’m praying for all of the requests made over the past few days, and praying for a blessed Sunday for all of you sisters! xx
