Amos 5:24

Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry His Word with us wherever we go.

This week we will work to memorize our key verse for the book of Amos, God’s declaration for righteousness and justice to flow.

“But let justice flow like water, and righteousness, like an unfailing stream.”
—Amos 5:24

So sisters I decided to read a few verses prior to this — my version is NLV — here they are starting with verse 21:

21 “I hate all your show and pretense—
the hypocrisy of your religious festivals and solemn assemblies.
22 I will not accept your burnt offerings and grain offerings.
I won’t even notice all your choice peace offerings.
23 Away with your noisy hymns of praise!
I will not listen to the music of your harps.
24 Instead, I want to see a mighty flood of justice,
an endless river of righteous living

God was upset with the Israelites for straying, I wondering how many times I’ve strayed and He has gotten upset with me!????

Father God please forgive me for straying, worshipping other idols, thinking I know what is best for me and most of ALL NOT following your ways. Thank You for sending Your Son to die for my sins. And thank You for send Your Holy Spirit to dwell in me to help to stay on the proper path. Amen.

Good morning! I went back and read verses 21-24. The Israelites were just going through the motions because they thought it would appease God. They were giving good things to God but for all the wrong reasons. Their hearts were divided.
For justice to flow like water and righteousness like an unfailing stream, God has to first have my heart. Without a heart totally devoted to him everything else is just “going through the motions”. Too many times I get it backward and try to do what I think God wants and what will make Him happy; working my way back up to the source. I need to start with the source.
    Have a blessed Sunday!

Okay, it is too easy to hit “post” when trying to edit a comment on the phone. What I was asking is if anyone had seen Lock Screen pics for phones lately. I used to use the lock screens from the weekly memory verses, but haven’t seen any recently. I miss them! Hoping you all have a wonderful day!
