Ephesians 4:1-6

Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the good news of Jesus with us wherever we go.

This week we will add our final verses, 5 and 6, to our memorization of Paul’s encouragement about the unity that characterizes the body of Christ.

Therefore I, the prisoner in the Lord, urge you to walk worthy of the calling you have received, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, making every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to one hope at your calling—one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all.
—Ephesians 4:1–6

    Yes, Jennifer, amen!! Beautiful.

Today I praise God that He makes beauty of ashes, turns sorrow into joy, and responds to our prayers. He is a God of goodness, and a God of resurrection. I felt so defeated and lost about 20 years ago after my husband of 2.5 years said he didn’t want to be married anymore, despite also having a 2.5 year old son together and new house we had built. Talk about the air going out of my sail! But today I am celebrating our 12 year anniversary with my husband! We have had wonderful years together and now living out our dreams in sunny Florida! The devil was trying to intrude not to long ago and we seemed to be a little more irritable with each other that was starting to cause a real issue, and I asked for prayers from my She’s. I also did a study on the Armor of God which was really helpful and understanding the attacks. And since January we don’t seem to struggle as much with that. But also, I was hoping that my husband would be a little more engaged with finding a church and having a spirit devoted to God. And this morning as my husbands hands were raised in church it was such a beautiful, thankfullness to God of how good He is. I have a husband that is growing His spiritual walk and we are growing closer all the time because of that! What a blessing. I have two women in my small group going through trying divorces right now, and I was able to give them both (separately) some encouragement. It such a hard thing to go through so if you do know someone, try to be there for them in anyway you can rather than judging the situation. We just down’t know the whole story, and rather it was their choice or not, I know it is hard regardless and they need prayer and empathy.

Hope you all have a great ending to your Sunday!

I pray for the unity in our body of believers. It can be so hard to seek unity when we disagree, but with God all things are possible. ❤️

We are called to one hope: Jesus. Nothing and no one else can give us hope. All is fleeting. Indeed there is no hope at all without knowing and following Jesus. There is either heaven or hell in everyone’s future. We all deserve hell but Jesus exchanged that for heaven for those who believe in Him. Hallelujah for Hope!

  7. Jennifer Loves Jesus says:

“In one hope of your calling” (Ephesians 4:4). God speaks, and it is done. We have been called to one hope by His voice. Our purpose, spoken into existence, is made immediately clear once heard by our heart and soul. Invited. Accepted. The pining questions of our existence (why am I here? What is my purpose?), answered in Jesus. To call is to cause, by the Word of God. By His Word all things were created. By His Word we are called. By His grace we are saved from the kingdom of darkness and transferred to the Kingdom of Light in Christ. Jesus spoke and Lazarus lived, the leper was cleansed, the blind man saw. Sometimes He used physical tools like mud and water, but miracles happened always by His Word. The beauty of God’s power rushes and fills me. I am called to be His, and I am. From death to life, darkness to light, and as I walk the light gets brighter. I see more, I know more, I understand more. Even the mysteries are understood as some things will not be known on this side of the Kingdom Gates. We are reservoirs of grace, streams in the desert here, wells of the water of life springing up, flowing out with the testimony of life. One heart, one Lord, one body, one hope calling out, one Spirit of truth setting captives free. Sweet Jesus. Sweet peace. The better everything. The answer. The only answer to everything. Only this truth and hope will satisfy every question. Resting in Him. Selah. Maranatha. Amen.
