John 1:1-5

Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the good news of Jesus with us wherever we go.

This week we will continue memorizing John’s prologue. In John 1:3, John emphasizes Jesus’s divine nature by pointing to His active role in creation.

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 All things were created through him, and apart from him not one thing was created that has been created. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of men. 5 That light shines in the darkness, and yet the darkness did not overcome it.
—John 1:1–5

I feel you Nancy Singleton, I remember my son singing so loudly to Klove songs in the car, now he is in college (well, last semester!) and he doesn’t go to church on his own, but I pray those seeds will hold!! That can be such a hard thing to wait on, our children being the prodigal kids to come home to the Lord! And @ Kelly, oh how I love Shout To The Lord! Such a good worship song!!

It was a blessing to go to church today even though it was freezing and I wanted to stay under the blankets! (haha, yes I live in SWF where it was a cold 54!!) The message was of that of the Holy Spirit in us, in John, the chapters we are coming up on! I love the study of John, there is just SO much in it! Especially loved that it followed Acts and the study over the summer of each chapter of the old and new testaments. I have always thought of the Holy Spirit as an it that comes over us as a feeling in church or something until the last few years. I am so thankful that it is He that lives in us! “Better than having the physical among you,” that is crazy to digest. “Holy Spirit you are welcome here..” that is what will sanctify us, we are not able to do it in our own power. And only those who invite Him in us can benefit from this great truth. May you keep working in me Holy Spirit and make me more like you. Doing your will, changing my soul, and letting it flow to others. Amen

I would like to go see the movie that Maura, or Mari V said, Redeeming Love! I read the book, but would love to support Christian movies at the theater! I also listened to the SRT podcast she was on, it was really good. The episode of The Unfolding was really insightful and full of good points to remember. Happy Sunday SHE”S and many blessings to each of you.

All things were created by him and apart from him not one thing was created that has been created.
