John 1:1-5

Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the good news of Jesus with us wherever we go.

This week we will continue memorizing John’s prologue. In John 1:3, John emphasizes Jesus’s divine nature by pointing to His active role in creation.

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 All things were created through him, and apart from him not one thing was created that has been created. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of men. 5 That light shines in the darkness, and yet the darkness did not overcome it.

Feeling really grateful for this community this morning, ladies. Hoping that your day will be blanketed in Christ’s peace.

  2. Nancy Singleton says:

I close my eyes & see my granddaughters singing Shout to the Lord with joy & total abandon. Oh, how I pray that seeds planted in their early years blossom into full faith even now. It’s sometimes hard to tell.

  3. Patricia Stewart says:

In prayer in my daily walk with the dog in the forest. I can’t help but praise God for the air, the earth, the trees, the snow, me and all the living things. God created all things. Not one thing created is not his.

  4. Margaret W says:

When my son was a toddler, he always asked me to sing the “Nothing Compares” song. It took me a while to figure out that he meant this one. It still amazes me the important thing he gleaned from this beautiful song. His heart was so innocent, so pure. He has since been hurt by Christians he trusted as a small child, and has much anger in his heart about it (and is intellectually disabled, so he can’t process it well.) But Christian music still reaches his soul like nothin else does. ❤️

  5. Jackie Witter says:

And the WORD was with GOD! Imagine standing at a point and being able to see all that was before and then all that is to come…and bowing to the Father’s will. Oh my Jesus, how I love you; Psalm 27:4 One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple.

  6. Kelly (NEO) says:

“apart from him not one thing was created that has been created.”

Everything. E-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g! Seen and unseen. Sound. And He sustains it all.

    “My Jesus, my Saviour
Lord there is none like You
All of my days I want to praise
The wonders of Your mighty love

    My comfort, my shelter
    Tower of refuge and strength
Let every breath, all that I am
    Never cease to worship You

Shout to the Lord all the Earth, let us sing
Power and majesty, praise to the King
Mountains bow down and the seas will roar
At the sound of Your name
I sing for joy at the work of Your hands
Forever I’ll love You, forever I’ll stand
Nothing compares to the promise I have
    In You”

Worship Him as He deserves today!
