Day 35

Weekly Truth

from the This Is the New Testament reading plan

Acts 13:27-31

BY She Reads Truth

Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the good news of Jesus with us wherever we go.

Test your memory of Acts 13:27–31 by either writing out the full passage on paper or typing it as a note into your phone. Then recite it in full, reflecting on all you have learned in your study of the New Testament.

27 Since the residents of Jerusalem and their rulers did not recognize him or the sayings of the prophets that are read every Sabbath, they have fulfilled their words by condemning him. 28 Though they found no grounds for the death sentence, they asked Pilate to have him killed. 29 When they had carried out all that had been written about him, they took him down from the tree and put him in a tomb. 30 But God raised him from the dead, 31 and he appeared for many days to those who came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are now his witnesses to the people.

Thank you so much for the beautiful comments and encouragement and love after the passing of my husband last Friday. Viewing will be Monday from 5 to 7 and the celebration of life service on Tuesday at 2. I would very much appreciate your prayers for my adult children who will speak at the service and for our family. We are all in shock and heartbroken. He was 71 years old. Thank you so much dear friends. I cherish each one of you and your thoughtfulness. ❤️

Thank you Martha for checking in with us in this hard, sad time. To lose someone so close to you as a spouse is hard to fathom, and I hope you will come back and read with us to distract you and fill you with God’s love and hope, and our love for you.
I always feel such a connection when women in this group share their trials and hurdles and heartaches and ask for prayers (But God), then continue with us over the months and years, and we see how God has worked in their lives, growing and shaping, and carrying them through. Those are testimonies for all of us to share in and learn from. Thank you so much SRT staff and SRT sisters! What a special place.
