Day 35

Weekly Truth

from the This Is the New Testament reading plan

Acts 13:27-31

BY She Reads Truth

Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the good news of Jesus with us wherever we go.

Test your memory of Acts 13:27–31 by either writing out the full passage on paper or typing it as a note into your phone. Then recite it in full, reflecting on all you have learned in your study of the New Testament.

27 Since the residents of Jerusalem and their rulers did not recognize him or the sayings of the prophets that are read every Sabbath, they have fulfilled their words by condemning him. 28 Though they found no grounds for the death sentence, they asked Pilate to have him killed. 29 When they had carried out all that had been written about him, they took him down from the tree and put him in a tomb. 30 But God raised him from the dead, 31 and he appeared for many days to those who came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are now his witnesses to the people.

I guess that all I have learned from the New Testament is that God cares about people’s feelings and wants us to come to Him before we react. And that God loves us so, so much, that he promises us that he will take away all the pain the have when we get to Heaven

Pray for my son Hunter, he was saved as a child but got with the wrong crowd. He’s strayed so far from God and is not making good choices. I’m so worried about him. Please pray that he leaves the lifestyle he is in and turns back to God. Pray for God to soften his heart and lead him back to Him.

Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers after the unexpected death of my husband on Friday. Your messages are sustaining me and giving me peace and reassurance that God is present. My adult children who love Jesus are here from out of town. The shock and suddenness of his natural passing is such a loss and we are all grieving. He had just turned 71 a week earlier. Please continue to pray for us as we walked through the valley. Thank you so much. I read your words last night. I’m having trouble sleeping and they offered me some comfort. With love ❤️
