Day 7

Weekly Truth

Romans 8:28

BY She Reads Truth

Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the gospel with us wherever we go.

This week we’ll memorize Romans 8:28, a reminder that the same God who is sovereign over these stories in the Old Testament is sovereign over our stories as well.

We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.
—Romans 8:28

His plans are greater than our own!

Claimed as my life verse as a teen but didn’t realize how often I would need to be reminded of that truth. When my life’s plans have not lined up with what God has planned for me, I am reminded I often need more to just know and seek my God more than trying to worry and figure out the plans on my own. He WILL work out everything for my good to be transformed into his image.

Don’t stop at Romans 8:28. Read through vs.30. Know and feel the love of the Lord for us, His beloved children. These verses are for believers, those who love Him and realize that He has called them for a divine purpose: to become like His Son. It sounds like an impossible task, but He equips those He calls. We won’t reach perfection on this earth but we can represent Him well, to the best of our ability. He knows our frailties, our limitations, our baggage. He gives us His strength and His Holy Spirit that we would be overcomers. He calls us. He gives us right standing with Him: imagine! With God Himself! And He gives us His glory. It’s all too much to fathom but it is true! So great is the love of the Father. I’m praying we all are feeling the love today.

    God took:
the sin of Adam & Eve
    Abraham’s impatience
    Hagar’s brokenness
    Sarah’s mess
And turned it into a glorious story of redemption.
