Day 6

Grace Day

Philippians 1:6

BY She Reads Truth

Use this day to pray, rest, and reflect on this week’s reading, giving thanks for the grace that is ours in Christ.

I am sure of this, that he who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

A friend of mine suggested writing out a scripture verse daily and putting it in the bottom of my shoe as a constant reminder that I am standing on the word of God.

With such a fast over life and a world of instant gratification it can be hard to wait. Patience is a virtue! It’s a great reminder that God is still with us and He will finish that work. I have to remind myself that his timing is better than my own and His plans are greater than mine so I have to stay the course and wait for Him to complete what He started for His glory!

The promises of God are for eternity. God will complete his work in us according to his kingdom and perfect plan

I love this verse! It is such a great reminder that we are in the process of being made into the image of God. We aren’t there yet, but we are getting there.

About 16 years ago, I had a terrible burn accident where I was second and third degree burned on my upper thigh. (Holding a nasal steam inhaler and the water spilled out onto my leg). I’m reading today’s reading out on my beautiful back porch and i looked down and the only thing left of the terrible scarring that occurred is this tiny dot where the boiling water first fell on my leg. It was a reminder that He DOES finish what He starts! I remember worrying about this scar and how it would affect the way I looked. It was the scariest and most painful physical pain I had been through at the time. And now, I can look down and see that not only was there almost complete healing, but you would never know I went through this horrific accident. One day, all of my pain will be healed-emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual pain. He who began this work in me will finish it and I will rejoice with Him forever!
