Proverbs 18:10-11, Proverbs 20:29, Proverbs 24:1-12, Proverbs 25:26-28

The book of Proverbs is a guide for pursuing godly wisdom in our daily lives. In this four-week study, we will read a selection of topical proverbs covering different aspects of wisdom, from how to interact with our friends, families, and neighbors, to fearing God and keeping His commands. No matter the subject, these proverbs urge us to wrestle with and reflect on our own response to them. To help you better engage with the proverbs in this reading plan, we have provided you with a short introduction and reflection questions for each day.

As fallen people in a fallen world, we are susceptible to seduction, or being lured by false promises. But as followers of Jesus who have the Holy Spirit, the wisdom of God is available to us in every situation we face. Both of these truths call us to pay attention to the wisdom found in Scripture. These proverbs call us to examine how seduction and strength work in our lives.

Reflection Questions:

What is the most powerfully seductive voice speaking into your life right now? What is it promising that makes you want to follow?

What is the God-given longing of your heart that lies beneath the desire you just named?

What do you think Proverbs 25:28 means? Take time to remember and reflect on when this proverb has been true in your own life?

Distractions. We are Christians. We are to be in the world, and not of it. We need to call evil-evil. I’ve seen many churches that seem to have departed from God and the teachings of the Bible. Yes, we are to love one another, but we are not supposed to go along with the ways of the world. Have you forgotten- satan thrives in our secular world & what is not taught to us in the Bible is of the secular world.

I feel like the voice calling me is one of “just give in to the feeling of uncertainty”. Like it’s inviting me to just sit down and hope someone else picks up my torch and carries on in regards to the body of Christ. But that is honestly the opposite of my hearts true desire! There’s a flame burning in my heart for the church today to awaken and rise up… and I do not want to miss it. So there’s a conflict going on within me. I think struggling with my health right now is making me feel tired so it’s easy to entertain the tired/give up thoughts. But God….He is my strong tower and I will run to Him and take refuge!! I will seek wisdom and walk in it by the power of His Holy Spirit!!

The powerful seductive lying voice of the devil for me has been “you don’t have to do anything, God will still love you, he will still bless you Let others do God’s work”. I have been fighting hard and the Word of the Lord is truly a two-edged sword that will slash the lies of the devil, to break it down into pieces and to render the lies powerless. Thank you Lord. The verse we read today Proverbs 24:12 If we refrain from deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain, and we say, look we do not know, would God not render to every man according to his works? We are weighed by our works for His Kingdom, and yet the seductive voice is against it (sit still, don’t offend anyone, don’t speak up, don’t defend the Godly values). And in the book of Revelation 20:12 on the day of Judgement many books were opened, one of which was the Book of Life, and other books that described our works. God records our works for His Kingdom.

The God-given longing of my heart is to get out there, to search where there is a need of God to fulfil the mission. If it does not start with you and me, where would it start right? I pray the Lord will give me the boldness/ courage to forsake my own comfort and convenience to pursue the values of His works, to embrace hardships and sufferings and overcome the devices of the devil and that sweet lying seductive voice, to be reminded that I am a soldier of the Almighty and I will not be entangled with civilian affairs but my ONE and ONLY mission is the finish the Lord’s work according to His standards. May we have the grace, the strength, the clarity to go on our day, to have a vision and the joy to cheer along the way. Bless you sisters.

Thank you Truth Seeker for your boldness to speak truth. Amen. Praying for America and may the Lord raise up God-fearing leaders and protect them from media attacks and all other forms of persecution.

The most powerfully seductive voice in my life is complacency. The enemy promises a comfortable life where I don’t have to step outside my comfort zone. It’s okay to choose a book/tv/my phone/work over time in the Word. I don’t need to sacrifice to be complacent. But the longing in my heart is to be bold, to step OUT of my comfort zone and share Jesus with my neighbors. My coworkers. To have a true heart to heart with my dad and brother (not believers). To be in the Word more and more. To memorize scripture to combat these lies. To raise my son seeing me pray, in worship, in my Bible so he knows where my joy and boldness come from. I believe Psalm 25:28 is saying that a person with so self control is opening his heart and mind to more destruction from the enemy. Which is something I need to hear. I struggle with self control with eating and have for years. This allows the enemy to not only attack that part of my life, but other areas as well.
