Proverbs 18:10-11, Proverbs 20:29, Proverbs 24:1-12, Proverbs 25:26-28

The book of Proverbs is a guide for pursuing godly wisdom in our daily lives. In this four-week study, we will read a selection of topical proverbs covering different aspects of wisdom, from how to interact with our friends, families, and neighbors, to fearing God and keeping His commands. No matter the subject, these proverbs urge us to wrestle with and reflect on our own response to them. To help you better engage with the proverbs in this reading plan, we have provided you with a short introduction and reflection questions for each day.

As fallen people in a fallen world, we are susceptible to seduction, or being lured by false promises. But as followers of Jesus who have the Holy Spirit, the wisdom of God is available to us in every situation we face. Both of these truths call us to pay attention to the wisdom found in Scripture. These proverbs call us to examine how seduction and strength work in our lives.

Reflection Questions:

What is the most powerfully seductive voice speaking into your life right now? What is it promising that makes you want to follow?

What is the God-given longing of your heart that lies beneath the desire you just named?

What do you think Proverbs 25:28 means? Take time to remember and reflect on when this proverb has been true in your own life?

In the areas where I lack self control, the more relaxed I get about those behaviors, the more they become acceptable to me, and the more I do them. Self control is so important to stop the cycle!

Prayers for you Becca this is a truly relatable reflection!

The upcoming election is indeed one of the most important elections of the history of this nation.

We are not electing a man, we are electing values.

We need to go with the person who is more in line with our beliefs.

It breaks down to a vote for Gods way or a vote for satans way.

    God is for life.
He commanded us to go forth and multiply and to raise up our children to know God and love God and His ways and to follow Him and live righteously.

Satan is for everything AGAINST what God is for.
He is for death = abortion on demand, euthanasia, suicide.

God is for the sanctity of marriage between a man and a woman.
He made male and female. He made marriage a holy union between a man and a woman which results in biological children.

Satan is for LGBT transgendered etc.etc. etc.

If you are not for God then you are against God.
Luke 11:23 (ASV) He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth.

I pray that God will have mercy on this nation and that we as believers in Him will humble ourselves and follow this verse :
    2 Chronicles 7:14
    King James Version
14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Our land needs much healing therefore we MUST vote for the side which will uphold God’s way.

Blessings on SRT and all of you lovely SRT ladies who read TRUTH !

I so look forward to meeting all of you in heaven !

Ah, yes, the siren call and lure of shiny baubles and pretty things along with the desire to be pretty ourselves in order to be what the world expects us to be is the response to ALL of the TV commercials/social media posts/ etc.etc.etc. which is of the world.

God Himself promises to provide for our needs and to clothe us more beautifully than the lilies of the field :
    Matthew 6:26-34
    New King James Version
26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 Which of you by worrying can add one [a]cubit to his [b]stature?

28 “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not [c]arrayed like one of these. 30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble

God WILL provide. We need to please HIM not others. I read a prayer years ago by a woman who said ” I have my family, I have my home, I have food, I have enough. Thank You God for providing”

    It is all about God.

    It is not about you.

We do not NEED as much as the world says we do.

This is a lesson that took me decades to learn.

    NOW I have contentment.
    Now I have peace.
Now I have joy in the Lord.

I praise God for His many blessings !

I agree, and often experience this.

  6. Eryn Murray says:

Fear is my struggle. Working to walk forward in purpose even with the unclear details. Faithing it til I really make it!

  7. Sarah Heschl says:

This has been weighing heavily on me too. Its so sad and disheartening to see the amount of hate, judgement, and lies that are spread amongst social media and news media. There is zero tolerance for people whose opinions differ from yours. I am praying that this does not harden my heart or cause me to lose faith and hope in humanity. Its so easy to be discouraged!

  8. Jennifer Anapol says:

I have been searching for security and peace by having my house, my life and myself in perfect order. When any of those things are out of order, I find it hard to have peace. God is trying to teach me to have my security and peace be found in him.
