Grace Day

Open Your Bible

Revelation 21:4

Take this day to catch up on your reading, pray, and rest in the presence of the Lord.

He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; grief, crying, and pain will be no more, because the previous things have passed away.
—Revelation 21:4

All of this week’s readings have been so comforting. My Opa passed away on Monday, and continuously reading about how there will be no more pain and all of our tears will be wiped away has me so happy that he made it to Heaven.

  10. Annie says:

@Kelly (Neo)- thank you for asking. We are almost all better except my almost 4 month old baby girl is still super congested and now my dad has it. My dad already struggles with psoriatic arthritis and hasn’t been doing well lately so strep throat is even more unwelcome. Thank you for your prayers!

  11. Heather H says:

A friend of mine is grieving the death of her 18 month old son. It has been heavy on my mind and something that I wish I could explain or understand, but words will never suffice. As a mom of a 1 year old, I cannot fathom what they are going through and my heart breaks for them. Sitting down for prayer today, I started by offering today’s reflection for the parents of this child. I started crying seeing just how this passage responded to my prayers. A much needed reflection today, thank you ❤️

    1. Brielle Hebert says:

Praying for your friend, Heather. I have a 22 month old and cannot even imagine.

It must have been removed… Trying again… I posted a link for a podcast about caregiving for all my sweet caregiving sisters. Search for the latest episode of the Lutheran Ladies Lounge.

I love that we have eternity to look forward to that will be perfect! ❤️ I pray that I will witness to the people around me, so they may join me there

  18. Rhonda J. says:

Oh gosh, hope I can remember all I want to comment to-

@Maria- that is so awesome for you to step BOLDLY out in faith, yes, I did this same thing last year right before Easter, mainly to just “pray with the team for requests” so I thought, but they wanted us to be the alter team! I am actually STILL nervous as I am standing up there, BUT GOD, He is kind enough to bring me people with requests that I relate to and then the Spirit helps me! I always tell my hubby, pray for me to pray for them, lol, before going up. What really messes me up is when I am in-between other people saying beautiful flowing prayers for others, so I have learned to hang out at the edge, and step that way when people come to me—so maybe that would help!? (But as our pastors say, it is our duty as believers to pray for and with others…not just their job! So that made me feel better!)

@Mari V- Are you able to “reply” because you do it on the APP? Would also love to find you on IG! I am under FMB_dreamer to anyone that wants to connect, and Rhonda Johnson on FB in Fort Meyers, Florida

@Sarah D– Oh Sarah…(and Michelle, Taylor, and Kimberly Z) I feel like you are my younger sisters! I know how hard that wait was! But I was divorced(2x) at 32 with a toddler, and wanted nothing more than to have THAT husband I had dreamed of, and the wait seemed SO long…(as my toddler was growing into a 7 year old). I felt like, why God, I need someone in this picture with me…it’s too hard and lonely by myself. And in that haste I made lots of bad choices, (which so were my first two husbands, BECAUSE they were in “my choice, not God’s!”) So hold steadfast, let God lead and occupy yourself with other things He is calling you to do! It is a perfect time to do things you can’t do with marriage/children life! (I would have done more mission trips and such myself)

Sharon, Michelle, Laura- thank you for sharing, you and others always have such good advice and prayer.

    CeeGee, Searching, Tina—hearts

Good to see ALL, today and everyday! Always prayers for you Lynn, GrammsieSue, Martha, Donna, Aimee, and all She’s…

I can’t wait for every tear to be wiped away…But until then I am going to be Jesus Strong and put my warrior boots on!! Living BIG in my FAITH, because HE is BIGGER than ANYTHING this world, and has equipped US, ME and YOU as followers and believers!!

Second post – apologies! LYNNE FROM ALABAMA – So glad you checked in and share updates! Continued prayers, sweet sister!

I found the song I was looking for yesterday! Reference- Psalm 90:2 –
    Before the mountains were born,
before you gave birth to the earth and the world,
from beginning to end, you are God.

When the Stars Burn Down (Blessing and Honor)
    Phillips, Craig & Dean
When the stars burn down, and the Earth wears out
And we stand before the throne
With the witnesses who have gone before
We will rise and all applaud
Singing blessing and honor and glory and power
    Forever to our God
Singing blessing and honor and glory and power
    Forever to our God
When the hands of time wind fully down
And the Earth is rolled up like a scroll
The trumpets will call, and the world will fall
To its knees as we go home
Singing blessing and honor and glory and power
    Forever to our God
Singing blessing and honor and glory and power
    Forever to our God
Singing blessing and honor and glory and power
    Forever to our God
Singing blessing and honor and glory and power
    Forever to our God
Star of the morning, Light of salvation
    Majesty
God of all mysteries, Lord of the universe
    Righteous King
Star of the morning, Light of salvation
    Majesty
God of all mysteries, Lord of the universe
    Righteous King
There will come a day standing face to face
In a moment, we will be like Him
He will wipe our eyes dry, and take us up to His side
And forever, we will be His
Singing blessing and honor and glory and power
    Forever to our God
Singing blessing and honor and glory and power
    Forever to our God
Singing blessing and honor and glory and power
    Forever to our God
Singing blessing and honor and glory and power
    Forever to our God
Singing blessing and honor and glory and power
    Forever to our God
Singing blessing and honor and glory and power
Forever to, ever to our God
    Oh, oh-oh-oh …

Lynn from Alabama, prayers dear sister for continued strength on a very difficult journey. May the Lord carry you when needed, I think of the prayer “Footprints”. Hugs.

  23. Jen Mendelssohn says:

    Amen

  24. Mari V says:

I long for this day! No more tears. No more worries. No more death, mourning, crying, no more pain. No more! My friend, Gretchen, the one who introduced me to SRT, text me this morning and I emphasized about today’s verse. There is so much out there, confusing our children… Bombarding them… I know that I know that both my children love Jesus, however, there’s things out there in this world confusing them. Not necessarily their faith which I’m thankful for however, this mama’s heart longs for Jesus to come and take us all HOME. Thank you to all of you who wished my daughter happy birthday. It was very simple, just to way she wanted it. My son‘s cake (that he made for her) turned out beautiful! Sunday will be the extend family celebration but even that will be simple.

  25. Adrienne says:

I haven’t listened to this podcast yet, but thought of some sweet sisters in this season of caregiving…

  26. Michelle Patire says:

Sarah D- so good to see you here. ❤️ I am thankful for the comments here to encourage you. You are not alone. It is not easy waiting. If only we could see what’s ahead… ultimately, it is a true test of faith to trust God with our unknown future. He already sees the future. He could give us the end result, but how would we grow and become more like Him if He told us everything that is ahead? Faith is believing what we can’t see. I pray you see growth in your waiting and trust God with the timing and lean on Him, as you’ve said, to satisfy you. I am in it with you. I believe God for a good future, but I press into Him when I don’t understand the process. May God be your lover and your husband, ultimately, He is what we are made for… we are His bride. May you see God’s loving-kindness to you, always, now and in your good future. ❤️

Thank you, @Sharon, Jersey Girl. ❤️❤️❤️

  27. Sharon, Jersey Girl says:

@Lynne from Alabama – thank you for the updates, I was just thinking of you last night as we hadn’t “seen you” in a while. Much, much prayers for you as you continue to be a care giver to Jack 24/7. I will be praying for his upcoming visit on the 23rd. Also praying for Banks and his parents. I can not imagine how difficult this must be for them.

  28. Mari V says:

Praying right now for you, Leanne.

  29. Adrienne says:

Oh, God, thank you for that wonderful (and totally undeserved!) promise!

  30. Sharon, Jersey Girl says:

Oh what a day that will be when every tear is wiped away from our eyes!!

@Sarah D. – I have been following you on your faith journey for a long time. You are a part of my daily prayers. If I could share my story…I didn’t start dating until later than most, my first real relationship began when I was 24. Before that time I would have people ask me “when are you getting married?” – “When someone asks me”, was my reply. Every time I was asked it made me hurt more as I wasn’t even dating anyone. Then along came this guy. We dated for 3 years and I honestly thought we would get married and grow old together. He was going off to study for ministry and I thought that was perfect – we’ll be in ministry together. (mind you are 3 year relationship was a rocky one!) Well, he went off to Bible College and met someone else – he dumped me upon my accidentally finding out. I was crushed, heartbroken and 27! I didn’t think I’d ever be married with a family… Fast forward to Jeff, someone God providentially brought into my life when I least expected. Little did I know that after dating, saying “yes” and getting married, that 6 months in – God would call Jeff (and me) to prepare for ministry. Long, long story short – here we are 37 1/2 years later happily married, in ministry for 30 years, 3 adult kids and a grand-baby on the way! Don’t lose heart, God’s timing is always perfect! He has a plan and a purpose for your life. And it was God who said, “It’s not good for man to be alone”. He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we ask or think! (Ephesians 3:20)…praying that God will give you peace, allow you to be happy for your friend, and give you patience in waiting. ❤️

@Taylor and @Michelle Patire – I also pray for you regularly, that God will bring that special someone into your lives as well. ❤️

@Maria Baer – prayers for peace and calmness as you join in prayer with this prayer group…just remember – when you pray, it’s just like talking with your friend, no need to copy anyone else’s way of praying. Be natural and just have your conversation with God. The only difference is, we can’t see Him face to face when we talk with him. ☺️

Have a blessed Saturday my dear, sweet She sisters! Praying for each of your requests as I read them. ❤️

  31. leanne merryman says:

Needed this today. I opened this up as Im here crying. Praying for guidance from the Lord and may I remain patient and faithful knowing He always has a plan for me.

  32. Cheryl Blow says:

    So thankful for this promise!

  33. Lynne from Alabama says:

Good morning, precious SRT sisters! I haven’t commented much lately but I assure you that am here every morning and praying for each of you and your needs! Caregiving duties and household responsibilities keep me super busy and I kind of hate to start mentioning names unless I can mention everyone! I love and cherish this community so much! Your comments and song selections are awesome!

KELLY (NEO) asked about Banks and here’s the latest. He had a MRI yesterday and his tumor is shrinking. He still has fluid around his brain and will have surgery on Wednesday to drain it. He will be on chemo for two years and is on lots of therapy to help him develop normally. He is a seven month old baby. Please pray for his parents too as this is so hard. Banks has a twin sister and an older sister (4 yrs old). I ask for prayers for Jack as his two lymph nodes that are enlarged (his lymphoma) are growing and have become huge. He notices them and gets upset. He doesn’t realize he has lymphoma. We aren’t treating it because of his dementia. We are seeing his oncologist on January 23rd to see if there is anything that can be done. Please pray for me too as sometimes caregiving can be overwhelming. I feel all your prayers! ❤️. Have a blessed day! ❤️

  34. Cee Gee says:

    Warren Wiersbe said,
    “Heaven is more than a destination;
    it is a motivation.
Knowing that we will dwell in the heavenly city ought to make a difference in our lives here and now.”

Today I am thinking of the old hymn, Are You Washed in the Blood.

SEARCHING – ❤ more great songs; thanks!

    Heather D. Sieloff – ❤

MARIA BAER – Bless you! Your request reminded me of Rhonda J’s request when she did the same. ❤

LINDA IN NC – Good to see you and hear your update! Another great old sing! I have missed you, LYNN FROM ALABAMA, GRAMIESUE, and NANCY S, and pray for y’all often.

SARA D – Prayers against the anxiety this is causing, but it sounds like you have a true friend; one who is putting your feelings above her own. As the old saying goes: Let Go and Let God. ❤ Hugs, little sister; I will be thinking of your group tonight.

  35. Laura Dianne says:

SARAH D You are on my heart today after reading your comment. From what I can gather from your comments, your life parallels my oldest daughters in many ways. She, like you, longed for a relationship with a Godly man to do life with and prayed about it a lot. She continued to do life with her girlfriends, got involved in a good Bible-believing church, joined groups, etc. She had similar feelings when her roommates had relationships and was considerate when she was dating someone and her roommates weren’t. All that to say, she is now happily married and expecting her first baby. It happened very unexpectantly. The man she married is the one for her. God faithfully answered her prayers. And her mom’s. I wanted to encourage you today with that story. Sometimes we need to be reminded that even though it doesn’t seem like anything is happening, God is still working. But maybe not in the way that we think He is. Our job is to trust, and to keep walking in the direction that we believe He wants us to go. It sounds like you are doing that. So keep on, sister. I love reading about your life and your heart for the Lord. It makes me so happy when young people desire such a close relationship with the Lord. Be encouraged because you are special to all of us here at SRT.

  36. Jordan Shaw says:

How amazing! Prayers being sent your way

  37. Jordan Shaw says:

    Amen

  38. Maria Baer says:

Sisters, if I may ask for a sweet prayer for clarity and discernment from the Holy Spirit. I’m taking a bold step, for an introvert, at my church. I joined the Prayer Team, which is the group at the end of service which prays with other church members for their needs. I have never prayed in public, and while I’m so happy and excited to get to do this, also a little nervous. So your prayers would mean the world to me.

    1. Annelyn P says:

Praying for you, MARIA BAER. May God bless and encourage your heart and use you as you pray for others. What a privilege!

    2. Tara B says:

      Praying for you Maria Baer!

  39. Emily Stallings says:

    Amen.

  40. Maria Baer says:

Thankful for a God that is with us in good and bad times. He sees and cares for every tear.

  41. Rachel Collier says:

People have always complained that reading the Bible is hard. There are so many different translations and paraphrases available trying to make it easy to read. I’ve come to this conclusion and it has helped me. The Bible I is God’s Word. It is in a different language than what we speak. That we can understand any of it is a miracle of God! It is not supposed to be easy to read. The very Word of God ought to require some effort from me. Now we see through a glass darkly but then we shall see face to face!

  42. Danielle B says:

This study is so timely. Our world is hard to live in at times with all the turmoil, heartache, dissension, and negative news. This study is the reminder our world is temporary and I praise God it is temporary! Some days I long for the time when we have no more tears, no more suffering, no more pain and no more grief. Lord God in the waiting, please help me wait well, help me keep my eyes fixed on you, and help me be a witness to others!

Ladies, I so enjoy reading through your comments and seeing what you are also gleaning from this study. For some the She’s who have commented that the study is hard for them, when we did a similar style study in the past I found I could get more in reading what others were sharing and something would speak to me.

  43. Aimee D-R says:

    Come Lord Jesus, come. Amen.

  44. Sarah D. says:

Yes @Searching, God still loves us!!
Would love your prayers today…I live with my close friend and she has recently been seeing/dating a guy that she had a crush on. We both prayed together that our crushes would ask us out last month…hers did, and sadly mine didn’t. I so want to be a good friend to her, but it’s been so hard for me to be happy when she talks about him. I hate that I feel this way too, because she is such a good friend to me and I wish I didn’t react that way. She did say to let her know if she needs to stop talking about him so much, so she’s sensitive to how I feel. It’s so much harder when I’m in close proximity to her. I just have a lot of doubts in my head about what if the guy I like doesn’t like me, who else will there be if it isn’t him…Our young adults group is having another event tonight so I’ll see him there. I’ve been praying that the Lord will help me rejoice with my friend, and that I would keep trusting that he has a plan, even when I can’t see it. Thank you in advance for your prayers. Honestly my prayer for this year is that I would have a relationship. I’ve struggled with this, and I know Jesus is my ultimate satisfaction, but I so desire to have a godly man to do life with, and to raise children to know Christ. But it isn’t faith if I don’t have an opportunity to trust Him…give me the faith to trust, God. I need you every moment.

  45. ERB says:

I posted this in yesterday’s comments early this morning, then realized I probably should’ve posted in today’s comments so am posting it again here..

RICHLYN.. I actually highlighted and copied what you shared in my journal!!
“Tribulation is also translated as affliction, persecution, trouble and anguish. *not necessarily associated with a timeline of events*. Wipe away is also translated as anoint, obliterate (erase tears, figuratively, pardon sin):—blot out. So, not literally wiping them from faces, but blessing/cleansing their purpose, eliminating them, and erasing the need for them.”
Wow!! SO powerful and SO Good!! Thank you for sharing it!!!

    SEARCHING.. ❤️

ARLENE.. “You don’t put new wine into old wine skins. Holy Spirit, align my thinking with yours.” Yes!! And Amen!! Thank you for sharing!!

KIMN.. “May I be faithful to my King.” Yes!! And Amen!! Thank you for sharing!!

CHERYL BLOW.. “We will return to something better than Eden!” LOVE this!! Thank you for sharing!!

LESLIE GRAY.. loved that you referenced Philippians 1:6 such a GREAT reminder!!

KRYSTLE SCOTT.. loved that you referenced Isaiah 61:10 Love how scripture connects, confirms and weaves to together!! Such a gift!!!

K C.. Your insights blessed me so much!! You put into words the revelations my spirit has been getting/feeling!! Thank you so much!! God, you are beyond GOOD to us!!!

STEPHANIE WILSEY.. All with ONE unified voice!! Yes!! And Amen!!! PRAISES to His name!!

    ADA MCCLOUD.. Abundant worship!! Amen!!!

JENNIFER ZOULEK.. “our own living choices.” SO good!! Thank you for sharing this! Very aligning and encouraging!!

**I can’t find who it was that shared about being washed in red blood to be made pure and white. But that also stood out to me!! So thank you for sharing it!!

I’m a day late but here is what I took note of:

Revelation 19:4-10 *I get goosebumps reading this!! Especially the part about the bride, how she is prepared and the linen and what it represents!! It makes a connection about washing robes in the Lamb’s blood and having them come out clean and pure!! (Revelation 7:14) Again, goosebumps!! Another goosebump moment is the description of the voices!! I can almost hear and feel them!! Deep within… Wow!!!

Revelation 7:14 *such a powerful analogy and statement about the blood of the Lamb!! Wow!!!

Have a BLESSED a weekend dear sisters!! To God be all the glory, honor and PRAISE!!! Xoxo

  46. Linda in NC says:

When I read this familiar verse first thing this morning an old song written in the 1950s popped into my mind “What a Day That Will Be”. I had to look up the lyrics because I couldn’t remember all the words. We used to sing this quite often at our church in the 1970s. What a reminder from the Lord! E. V. Hill, a pastor from CA used to say ” This ain’t it!” One day all will be made new.

2024 has begun in a reasonably quiet way with less stress and a heart full of gratitude! Blessed weekend sweet sisters.❤ Praying for each need as I see them and celebrating each answer and victory.

  47. Rita W says:

  48. Searching says:

In reading through the comments this week and especially yesterday (TINA, CEE GEE, K C, LISA Z, KRYSTAL LORENZO, SARAH SCHEAF, LIBBY K & many others), I realized we all know the Why of all that God does in protecting and providing … even if, God still; even after, God still; even when, God still…He LOVES us! Even if we turn our backs and run away from Him, even after we’ve sinned on purpose time and again, even when we’ve done the unthinkable or unimaginable, God still provides, protects, welcomes, redeems, He Loves us!
