Lent is a season where we reflect on the depth of our sin and embrace the hope and strength found only in the cross of Christ. We seek unhurried moments of quiet to read Scripture, pray, confess, and repent. Take some time today to catch up on your reading, make space for prayer, and rest in God’s presence.
He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree; so that, having died to sins, we might live for righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.
—1 Peter 2:24
Amen ♥️
Jesus suffered with a quietness and gentle spirit. When He could have smite, He saved. God absorbed the wrath we deserve upon Himself. In the chaos and loudness of shouts accusing Him in His innocence, He silently bore witness for our sakes. He was crushed to bear the healing balm of salvation for His people. For me. For you. I can bear my own suffering and let the work of God have His way to bring goodness. I know He will because He already has.
1 Peter 2:24 “…By His wounds you have been healed.” (Isaiah 53:5)
He was pierced
Because of our wrongs
He made all things right
For Him my soul longs
For healing He suffered
For my heart He came
In the light of this truth
I will never be the same
While I was in sin
He made a way out
His commitment to love
Fills me with praises and shouts!
I LOVE YOU JESUS!!!
Happy Grace Day She’s, love to you all! May God bless You with His peace today.
Dear Churchmouse, this is exactly what I needed to hear this morning.
It saddens me that so many don’t know about this wonderfully magnificent gift from Jesus. Reading today’s verse slowly and a few times, it really speaks of so much love that He bore our sins. He hung on a cross for us.
❤️
So grateful for our redeeming father!
Churchmouse, this is such a fabulous commentary! Thank you for sharing, it’s a reminder I needed ❤️
