It is good to understand both the gravity of our sin and the greatness of our God in forgiving our sin. I was counseled once to keep a short list of my sins. To dwell too long on past sins already confessed is not healthy nor Biblical. Repent and fully accept God’s forgiveness. To Him, those sins no longer exist. My evening prayers are a review of my day, asking the Lord to reveal to me any sin I may have committed by omission or commission. He is faithful to remind me to make amends. I accept His forgiveness and I go to sleep. When I awake, it’s a new day with a clean slate. Satan tries to discourage and dishearten my by resurrecting my past failures but he is most definitely not in the resurrecting business. Only God does that. My sins are forgiven and are as far away as the east is from the west. I rest in the Truth.
