John 21:25. Oh John, would that you had written more, dictated longer, that we might know the “many other things which Jesus did.” Our God is an over the top God, an abundant life God. The more I know of Him, the more I want to know. Our God has done great things and greater yet to come. Praise His holy name!

20 Then Samuel said to the people, “Do not fear. You have done all this wickedness; yet do not turn aside from following the Lord, but serve the Lord with all your heart. 21 And do not turn aside; for then you would go after empty things which cannot profit or deliver, for they are nothing.Empty things – what are the ones in my life? And how many have I sought, chased after, obtained at great cost (money, integrity, time, relationships)? I can say one thing – it was wasted effort every time.
Lord, I pray that I serve You and not turn away from You, that I will trust You and Your love for me, Your plans for me. I pray that each person, family, neighborhood, community, town, county, state and country would focus on You, serve You and not turn away to go after all the empty things in our world today. For sure and certain, they are nothing.
