God provides something better. I love how the stories of those in the Old Testament start out with, by faith. I also love that God included Sarah and Rahab as being women who lived by faith.

I absolutely loved the verses from Hebrews today! So many examples of how having faith and trust in God pays off in the end. While I might not see that reward now, I know it is waiting for me in heaven!

Yes ladies! Good thoughts for me too! What struck me today was time. 1) Ezekiel has been writing “in the tenth year, eleventh, twelfth… “. It struck me how looong God’s plan takes to roll out!-and how many years of discomfort. What does 12 years look like in my life? 2) 6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.– there was a time i was very angry with God because i didn’t believe He was faithful to this verse. I wanted to SEE the answer to my prayers- in MY time. These 2 readings remind me again- Time is very different to God- he has eternity in mind. And i have to believe for the answers even if they come on earth after i am gone to heaven…

I️ wonder if we each put our names in a sentence as if Hebrews 11 continued into our day & age, looking back on our lives, what we would say (or what legacy would be left for someone to say about us)…?
For me I️t would start something like this:
-By faith, I️ went to medical school, knowing my struggles in academics, but also knowing God was the one who called and would be faithful to complete what He started. (And He did!).There are still things I’m believing for that I’ve not yet received—I’m not alone here—but it’s good to remember God’s goodness & faithfulness when we can’t see the others coming to be quite yet.

I think Hebrews 11:1 hit the nail right on the head – “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see”. I love that this passage defines faith using hope. That we can’t have faith without hope, and that the confidence we have in the fulfillment of our “hopes” is what our faith is made of. Glory to God for His continued, everlasting, tried-and-true faithfulness that give us no reason to have anything but a confident hope when we fix our eyes and hearts on Him, and not our light and momentary troubles. Thankful for this platform to encourage one another in the Lord and His word.

Contrasted with the saints of God who may not have earthly riches or power but have faith and know the truth that makes them free; over and over we are shown the mercy and the richness of our God. He builds up and He tears down. All the while performing His glorious plan
