Sometimes I forget how powerful my faith in god is & can be. Hebrews 11 reminds me how the faith of believers in the Bible conquered kingdoms, shut the mouths of lions, escaped the sword, & were made strong out of weakness.

Faith is what we do not see!
-
1Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

What a great cloud of witnesses expounded upon in Hebrews! By faith, let us follow their lead!

I love the verse “we can have faith because we consider him faithful who has made the promise.” We know we are not receiving empty promises- we serve an all mighty god who does not go back on his word.

As much as this reading plan has been helpful to me, it is often beneficial to read chapters in connection with one another since they are man made divisions. When you read Hebrews 10-12 together, you receive encouragement after encouragement to go through the suffering and trial of earth awaiting the promised Kingdom to come. You are told that you are of those who have faith that obeys, faith that is assured in hope, faith that believes God and pleases him, faith that does not fear and looks forward to the promise even in the face of death. You are disciplined by a Heavenly Father who loves you and seeks your good and your holiness as the promised unshakable kingdom of God is coming. Consider the cloud of witnesses, consider Christ’s example. Remember the heavenly Jerusalem which we have entered into, and is coming soon.

3By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.
