“We are a people belonging to God, aliens and strangers in the world.” Definitely feels like that most of the time! It makes me think of the CS Lewis quote “if you find a desire within you which nothing in this world can fulfill, the most probably explanation is that it is found in a different world.”

2Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, 3now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.
We have all tasted His goodness. Vivid metaphor to crave reading God’s Word like a newborn with a 7-month old at home!

25For you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

7So the honor is for you who believe, but for those who do not believe,
“The stone that the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone,”8and
“A stone of stumbling,
and a rock of offense.”They stumble because they disobey the word, as they were destined to do.

So true! And so many points of guidance all throughout the bible

9But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. 20For what credit is it if, when you sin and are beaten for it, you endure? But if when you do good and suffer for it you endure, this is a gracious thing in the sight of God. 21For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps. 23When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but continued entrusting himself to him who judges justly.”
Jesus is ever our example and leads us forward in our walk with Him! -
26I will deliver them into the hand of those who seek their life, into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and his officers. Afterward Egypt shall be inhabited as in the days of old, declares the Lord.
27“But fear not, O Jacob my servant,
nor be dismayed, O Israel,
for behold, I will save you from far away,
and your offspring from the land of their captivity.
Jacob shall return and have quiet and ease,
and none shall make him afraid.”
The Father is so gracious and full of mercy. Even in the midst of their just punishment, He plans to restore Israel and Judah to peace and prosperity!
