Jeremiah 48-49, 1 Peter 3
4but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious.
39“But in the latter days I will restore the fortunes of Elam, declares the Lord.”
Amidst it all God still has restoration on His ❤️ heart!
19Behold, like a lion coming up from the jungle of the Jordan against a perennial pasture, I will suddenly make him run away from her. And I will appoint over her whomever I choose. For who is like me? Who will summon me? What shepherd can stand before me?
This passage was very helpful to highlight God’s divine prerogative as sovereign over the universe to judge as he sees fit. God is the gracious and merciful shepherd who is Holy. The nations receive what is right, as revelation notes “his judgments are good.” May we see the goodness of God’s justice, and the goodness also of the great mercy we have received.
