wrapping up 1 + 2 peter & what’s next

Slide1

Hello ladies!
We sure hope that you were blessed by 1 + 2 Peter. It was our joy to walk through those books with you.
We have a lot of fun and exciting things coming up this summer that we want to tell you about!

1. Upcoming Schedule:
Today + Saturday & Sunday 6/28 + 6/29: Let’s take some grace days. We’ll be quiet over here on the site and we’ll give you time to catch up on any plans you might be finishing, read something in God’s Word you’ve felt drawn to, and just taking a general rest as a community.
Monday 7/1 – Friday 7/5: Rhythms of the Word. We’re going to do a quick plan where we read through a shortish chunk of scripture each day and get back to the roots of how we process scripture. We’ll point out some rhythms for reading the Word, but there won’t be any commentary. Also, this short plan will only be available on our website – not on YouVersion. This should be really refreshing for everyone!
Saturday & Sunday 7/6 + 7/7: Two more grace days!
Monday 7/8: We’re going to start our new, big, summer-long plan that we’re very excited to share, which is….

2. We’ve been hard at work with our team of writers and a handful of guest writers preparing our new plan! The SheReadsTruth “Women of the Bible” series comes in four 2-week parts. We will not only study the popular heroines of scripture, but also the lesser known women God uses in His great story of redemption. Throughout the 4-part study we will see God’s sovereign handiwork in small matters and in the broader story of The Redeemer, including many of the women in the lineage of Christ. These plans WILL be available on YouVersion.

3. Some other exciting news? The SheReadsTruth site is about to put on her big girl panties… er… get a facelift! We have an all-new site design in the works that we hope to roll out next month. The devotional content itself won’t change a bit, but we hope the format will be super intuitive and fun for y’all. (And whatever learning curve it requires, we hope to make that seamless as well!)

Also, we’ll be adding a separate blog section to our site, which we hope will serve to better communicate with y’all, and even to share other relevant-yet-non-devotional things that we think you’ll enjoy (including Sarah + Raechel’s trip to Guatemala with Food for the Hungry August 4-9!).

4. Lastly, our writing team is going to be hosting a fun class via The Influence Network. On July 17th, we’ll host a free + fun online class that we can have about 75 gals sit in on. This will be hopefully be a fun and carefree night where you can “meet” our writers, ask questions, and hear a little bit about our vision for SheReadsTruth and our heart behind reading God’s Word together. The class is free and easy to sign up for, but the spaces are first come, first served! You can find more info here!

Again, sweet friends, we hope you know it’s our joy to do this with you.
Draw near to the Lord today and read some Truth, we’re praying for you.

LaurenC_ what you are feeling and going through is normal. I experienced similar emotions when having to make decisions about my mom. I say similiar because we all process differently.

You have experienced a what is considered a traumatic episode in your life. I know many think if murder, tornados, floods, etc. as traumatic – and they are – but your situation is also.

Please make sure you are being vocal, eating properly, and getting the much needed rest your body needs during this time. I pray that during this season – and yes it is a season – in your life that you WILL draw close to God. I pray that He will comfort you and give you peace that surpasses all comprehension. Allow the Father to embrace you as only He can. I pray for wisdom and opportunities to have times of solace where you can clearly hear His voice. May you allow Him to lead and guide you in the directions that He would have you to go. Amen.

I’ve enjoyed reading these devotions. It truly helps me stay on track for a few minutes with God daily. I’ve been using past plans for these grace day…reading a few days here and there…maybe one day I will have been blessed by all the plans on you version. Thanks for this ministry. May God bless you and keep you and may his face be upon you and give you peace.

Thank you for this Tina. We are so blessed to have women like you in our community and to encourage us in what the Lord is doing through us, human as we are.

Thanks for the grace days. A much needed break with such in depth studies, but so excited to get back into the “rhythm” and can’t wait to experience Women of the Bible. Can’t wait to see the new developments for the site and the blog section. The class sounds awesome. Thank you all who make SRT possible. I hope the journals will be available again soon. Praising God for guiding me to this community.

Boy, did I ever bomb the 2 Peter plan. Got started a day late due to the You Version glitch and it went downhill from there. I'm still trying to process everything that has happened with mom in the last two weeks and I just haven't been able to get focused… on anything! Read a whole week's worth today but I didn't take in the Word like I should have. Ugh. I would really appreciate your prayers, sisters, that I can get back on track! I NEED to. I've felt rather numb lately and it bothers me.

Looking forward to the updates and new additions to SRT!

I know what you mean! Sometimes life just gets…overwhelming and considering what you are dealing with its understandable. One thing that has helped me with the youversion glitches is I go to the web and use the she reads truth website. Then I can keep on track a little better. I hope this helps you. I have lifted you up to our father this morning! Let the numbness remind you that God's faithfulness does not depend on your "feelings"! He is for you and will be with you through this!

      I'll pray right now, Lauren.

And, hoping these grace days and the different pace in the Rhythms of the Word week will be just what you need to regroup and draw back into closeness and quiet with Him.

    3. Stacy says:

Praying for you right now, Lauren.

I am so excited for this next study! I think that as women, we don't hear enough about the Biblical heroines- the women who God directly used and redeemed to play an important part in His message of grace and mercy. I finished a study on Esther last year and it was such a blessing to dive deep into her story and actually study it for an extended period of time!

I am so excited!! I love reading the Word of God with you ladies! It challenges, convicts, and upiifts me all at the same time. I will be continually praying for our community and for the Holy Spirit to move through us not only in this website but out in the world. :)
