Are y’all ready for this week’s memory verse? I know I am.
I also know for many of us? This is the very first time we’ve put His truth to memory. Isn’t it incredible? Having a truth that you can call upon in those times of need? I always think about how many other words fill up my head: words to songs, quotes from movies, memes and other one-liners.
I want to fill my head with His Truth! I want them to play on repeat throughout the day.
We love how y’all have been encouraging, challenging + sharing your tips and tricks for memorizing scripture! Y’all make up this community, and let me tell you: y’all are incredible.
So here at SheReadsTruth, each Tuesday, you’ll see a post with the week’s memory verse! Ready for this week’s?
Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.Ephesians 4:29 NIV
In addition to the scripture verse, we will have a phone lockscreen image! We’re using technology as a way to help us memorize scripture! YEOW! So each time you need to check the time? Read that verse + set it to memory! Repetition is key!
A few of you have asked how to place the above image as your lock screen, so I thought it would be helpful to write out the steps to do so!
[Disclaimer: I am an iPhone user! So these steps for an iPhone, if anyone would like to email directions for an android/other phone, we’ll have them to distribute to users with questions!]
Saving the Weekly Truth Graphic Directly to your Phone
1. Pull up SheReadsTruth.com on your iPhone.
2. Center the image as shown below – this was our memory verse a few weeks back.
3. Take a screen shot by pressing your Power button and Home button at the same time.
4. Now open your Photos app and open the screen shot you just saved.
5. Click the button in the bottom left corner to bring up the screen below.
6. Choose “Assign to Wallpaper”
7. Using the Move and Scale, zoom in on the image so that the words fit within your lock screen.
8. Click Set.
9. Go check out your lock screen!
Please email us if you are still having problems!
Ready for this week’s lock screen?
We also want to provide a desktop background for y’all! I know having my lockscreen set with my Bible verse has not only helped me memorize the scripture, but has been a great conversation starter! We’d love to hear if you’ve had opportunities to tell people about His Truth because of these graphics, too!
Click here to open the graphic for your computer desktop. Right click, save.
[We are trying to make this graphic a generic size, so it may not fit your screen perfectly. Thanks!]
We cannot wait to hear how your lives are changing! As Raechel asked yesterday:
How is the Gospel fleshing out in your daily relationships?
Head on over to yesterday’s post + join the discussion! Don’t forget: we are doing this together!
xoxo Kacia

I really love the memory verse! I would suggest putting a "pin it" button under the graphics or on each blog page for pinterest! :-)
Thanks so much for these beautiful lock screens. They are really going to help me remember what my mind should be on.
Also, on a side note, I'd totally buy a she reads truth journal. So cool!
I am so thrilled to see y'all encouraging scripture memory. It is so important! We never know when our right to read the WORD will be yanked away from us and we need to have HIS WORD in our hearts!
I am currently memorizing the book of James and I have memorized chapters 1,2,3,and 4. I am on verse 5-7 of James chapter 5. It has been the most rewarding thing I have ever done. It has made the book of James just come alive to me and really pressed that word down into my spirit!
Thank y'all for this awesome work for the Lord that you are doing together!
I just copied the style and made a KJV version. Thanks for the great resource and idea!
So, with a bit of jiggery pokery, I managed to save it as my phone wallpaper. I have a basic (non-smart) phone, although I do have very basic internet (that refused to load this site) and email access. Here's what I did:
– Saved image from this post to my computer
– Cropped image to fit my phone screen (trial and error)
– Emailed image to myself (from computer)
– Received email on my phone
– Saved attached image to My Pictures on my phone
– Set as wallpaper
I'm sure there's an easier way to do that, but I was just trying to find something that worked.
I would love the android step-by-step. Ive tried saving and setting as wallpaper but it doesnt fit. I even resized it and no such luck.
I just found your blog from (in)courage website. This is a great idea! I have since downloaded it on my iPad. Love it! I am also looking forward to focusing on memorizing a verse each week. This is something that I have done with kids at our church but haven't focused on it yet myself. Perfect timing!
Thank you for that tip Kim. I love this blog and the site. It is a real answer to prayer for me and I am sure…a lot of other ladies.
What a GREAT idea!! LOVE this verse, it's one that totally convicts me. Someone once told me an easy way to stop from gossiping is to remind yourself that, "It's not my story to tell" everytime you're tempted to talk about someone else. That has really helped me as I find myself automatically thinking that before talking about someone else. The other thing that helps me is when I ask myself if that is something I would say if that person was standing there. I so LOVE this blog & am totally growing in my walk!
Thank you so much for all the work that all of you wonderful ladies put into creating this site, making the awesome graphics, encouraging this community, and coordinating plans. I'm excited to be a part of it. :)
I just wanted to share another way to save the picture to an iPhone:
-Open the website in Safari. I just go to shereadstruth.com and click through to the post or page with the graphic.
-"Click" on the graphic, and it will load in the same window.
-Hold your finger down on the picture for a couple seconds, and a menu will pop up from the bottom of the screen with "Save Image," "Copy," and "Cancel."
-Hit "Save Image" and it will save right to your Camera Roll without any borders or the bars at the top and bottom.
Then from your Photos app, you can obviously follow the same steps for making it your wallpaper. Hope this is helpful! :)
GREAT to know, thanks Jessica!!
This verse is such a powerful reminder to speak encouragement! I love having the constant perspective when I open my phone :) Thanks :)
I know that, unfortunately, I need this reminder. Thank you, ladies!
Thanks so much! What a powerful reminder!!
Love it! GOD BLESS & THANK YOU!
This is perfect! You girls are doing wonderful things for the body of believers, kudos!
I love this! This verse is so beautiful to me because I'm reminded that Christianity is not just a call AWAY from something but TO something. So often it feels like life is a big bunch of don'ts–don't curse. Don't lie. Don't yell. Don't gossip. And these are all good and true. But Jesus calls us to more–not only are we not to gossip, we are to speak things that helpful and build people up. So when I'm tempted to gossip, not only should I stop, I should pray for life-speaking words instead. I am called FROM unwholesome words TO lifespeaking words. We are not called to be neutral, we are called to be proactive! This is hard for me sometimes to remember, and I need to be praying for his grace (and energy from Him!) in this area.
Thanks for the beautiful graphic! & what a beautiful verse to choose. Sometimes women get such a bad reputation for gossiping & talking badly about others- this is such a good reminder to not engage in that type of talk & to be a true woman of God. Sometimes it may not make you “popular,” but in the long run, it’s all about how YOU feel about yourself & your relationship with Christ.
Again, thank you!
