Psalm 116:1-19

Scripture is God breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry His Word with us wherever we go.

Each Sunday during this plan, we are reading a different hallel psalm and memorizing one of its verses.

This week, memorize Psalm 116:13 as you meditate on the psalm as a whole.

Love the image of this morning’s verse! That’s exactly how it looks like here this morning. I “almost” put on my running shoes to go outside and enjoy the sun, BUT decided to open the windows, let the sun in, and enjoy a “relaxed” morning here. Caleb (my son) is serving in church this morning and managed to make me a VERY good pour-over coffee, wish you could smell how “good” it smelled and tasted! This morning as I read our memory verse: I will take the cup of salvation and call on the name of the Lord.” A sweet friend of my came to mind, and I am asking for prayer for her as her husband is very ill and in ICU and unconscious and things are looking slim for her husband. They’ve been married for many years.

Good morning Shes, vs. 5 “Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; our God is merciful.” I love reading the attributes of God in the Psalms. My church is cancelled this morning because of a blizzard! But I’m thankful for streaming of the sermon and for a warm, cozy home. Praying for Sue and Steve as the Lord brings them to my thoughts often.

  6. Lindsey Bradley says:

“I will lift up the cup of salvation, and call on the name of the Lord.”

  7. Tricia C says:

“I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make its boast in the Lord; The humble shall hear of it and be glad. Oh, magnify the Lord with me, And let us exalt His name together.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭34‬:‭1‬-‭3‬ ‭

Oh my word! I read the comments I didn’t get to yesterday and it was a beautiful thing seeing all these older songs that everybody shared. God is so good! Even, like in the psalms, when we don’t always see it, we can know that we can rejoice because God is good! Praise be to His Holy Name!
    Blessed Sunday, dear Sisters!

  9. Wendy B says:

I immediately think of Here’s my cup, Lord, fill it up Lord.

Thank you Lord that you are the one that satisfies, that you are the one that truly fills when we are empty and that nothing else we desire can compare to you. Amen

Praying for the many requests shared as I’ve read them, SRT sisters. GrammieSue ❤️

  11. Rhonda J. says:

    GM She’s!
Rejoice, and be glad in the day the Lord hath made!
For He is good, rich in Mercy, Grace abundantly for all who call upon Him!
I’m so thankful for His abundant love and that He calls me daughter. I will take the cup of salvation—WITH JOY and Thanksgiving! And call on the Name of the Lord, all the days of my life!

Can I ask for prayers for Stacey?! She gets released (Praise God no Prison Time!) in the morning. She has no plans in place since it is unexpected, no place to live. All her things are gone, she basically has nothing. It will be very challenging and hard to get going…again. Unfortunately she is in a different city that is quite a distance away from me or I would be able to help her. As I am writing this the picture flips on my digital photo frame and shows when she got baptized at our church (by me and my leader at the time!) a couple of years ago when she got out of jail. I am so thankful that when we fail, God is still there for us, he doesn’t turn us away, he brings us in close. Reminds me of The Chosen episode that had me crying where Mary goes off to the bar, to drink. Someone goes and gets her and brings her back to the camp and to Jesus, she is embarrassed and remorseful, but then, Jesus looks in her eyes, fully sees her, and embraces her…(OMG…!!)

We have baptism Sunday today! Love seeing people showing their outward sign of embracing Jesus as their Savior! May we be people that get on FIRE for Jesus, and say YES to what He has for us!! So many opportunities to love people and tell them of Jesus!! He is life-changing, why are we so void of Joy?! LORD, I am HERE for the FUN and Joyful opportunities you have for us!! Happy Sunday!

GrammsieSue–You are being thought about often and prayed for.

Praying for Stacy and plans to recovery and wellbeing. We had 6 last baptisms last Sunday! Our new pastor sprinkles babies but also encourages the full dunks outside and it was beautiful!

    2. Mari V says:

Praying for this beautiful butterfly. God is good! He will make a way!

  12. Christy Lapshina says:

I love the Lord because he hath heard my voice and my supplications.
Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live. Psalm 116:1-2

  13. Cee Gee says:

17 I will offer you a thanksgiving sacrifice
and call on the name of the Lord.
18 I will fulfill my vows to the Lord
in the presence of all his people,…

This is a thanksgiving psalm so my mind went to a great call to worship:
    SONG SHARE:
    Come Ye Thankful People, Come
    v.4

4 Even so, Lord, quickly come,
    Bring Thy final harvest home;
    Gather Thou Thy people in,
Free from sorrow, free from sin.
    There, forever purified,
    In Thy presence to abide;
Come, with all Thine angels, come,
    Raise the glorious harvest home.

Sisters, may you be blessed and may you bless Him as you worship today!
    Love, hugs, and prayers! ❤

  15. Kelly (NEO) says:

    Verse 12
“How can I repay the Lord
for all the good he has done for me?”
    .
Lord, I have nothing to give You that You have not provided. Well except for my sin and Jesus has taken that and replaced it with forgiveness and His righteousness.
    .
CRISSY HUNTER – praying this psalm brings some light into your dark places.
    .
KATRINA MCMILLAN – praying that the results of your ultrasound shows the abnormalities are nothing to be worried about.
    .
KATHRYN ZELL – praying for your heart to be comforted by God’s love and peace. And praying for courage and wisdom for the future of your marriage.

    1. Sally B. says:

      Amen Kelly!
And maybe the psalmist gets that because his response turns to a sacrifice of thanksgiving and telling of the Lord’s works in the presence of all the people…
Father, helps us to be ready always to extol Your goodness, righteousness and compassion to any and all available to hear!

      1. Cee Gee says:
