Weekly Truth

Open Your Bible

Acts 2:37-39

Scripture is God breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the good news of Jesus with us wherever we go.

As we read Acts together, we are memorizing a portion of Peter’s sermon in Acts 2. This week, memorize all of verse 37.

37 When they heard this, they were pierced to the heart and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what should we do?” 38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is for you and for your children, and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”
—Acts 2:37–39

Hi Shes, I want to ask for prayer coverage for the youth that I serve, specifically those on the worship team. We had a retreat ending the year and had an incredible time of worship and unity. This generation is eager to worship and connect to God. Satan is threatened and attacking our worship leaders. The leaders were updating the teams for new members that want to be trained up and there was so much confusion and distrust sown in merely a few days. Please pray for the Lord of Hosts to protect our youth and for unity and trust among us. They all have innocent hearts and hearts following after God, but the enemy is confusing them. I strongly think the enemy hates how eager they are to rise up to worship and to lead their peers to worship which is why they’re being attacked. One of them was baptized a month ago. Thank you for your prayers!

We’re going to meet with as many involved as we can today to talk it out together. I don’t know if all of them will be present, so we will need more prayer to get those not present on the same page. I haven’t seen an attack like this on this group before.

    1. Maria J says:

Praying for your youth worship teams, the leaders and all who are involved.

    2. Tami says:

      Praying Tiff C

    3. Searching says:

Praying for these youth, Tiff. The enemy is swarming around young people everywhere – praying for protection and clarity of truth for all.

    4. Mari V says:

Praying. Ironically this weekend, a year ago, I was at a Youth Winter retreat. We had gone with another youth group from another town. We combined worship teams with the other youth group and it was amazing! Our sweet worship leader lead worship until she didn’t…won’t get into details other than she was poorly treated. As her small group leaders our hearts were broken for her. The mama bear in us wanted them to see what we see. A Jesus girl! A girl who LOVES Jesus! Sigh…. TODAY, that beautiful young lady is serving JESUS oversees with little ones. She chose to forgive and move on. God is good! Praying Tiff that you and the team can talk things through and come to a solution.

      1. Rhonda J. says:

That’s good to share Mari, to show Tiff and others going through these things of how the Devils angels do a LOT to stir up Chaos and mistrust, and jealousy and more among those coming to God and serving him…he doesn’t want things to go good!! We need to tell them this. New Christians want to follow but aren’t as privy to the walk as we that have been following the Lord! But we know WITH Jesus we have the warrior on OUR side!! amen!

    5. Cee Gee says:

Praying God answers these needs in an undeniable way revealing where the TRUE POWER comes from! ❤

    6. Mercy says:

Praying. Oh my goodness. The devil is a liar and a manipulator. Leave the children alone in the Name of Jesus.

    7. Wendy B says:

Praying….may the Lord work and move in lives of all those involved in this church community, the lies of the enemies be silenced and continue to raise up and eqip a generation of young people that long to seek and serve Jesus.

Sisters, for those interested, I notice a video on Youtube last night:
Focus on the Family with Mary DeMuth
In this powerful conversation, author Mary DeMuth discusses how parents can respond with love, wisdom, and faith—even when their hearts are breaking. Mary shares deeply personal stories, biblical insight, and practical guidance from her book Love, Pray, Listen, helping parents release control, grieve unmet expectations, and trust God’s work in their children’s lives. This episode addresses deconstruction, boundaries, finances, estrangement, sexuality, prayer fatigue, and the importance of unconditional love rooted in Christ.

What you’ll learn in this video:
Why parenting formulas don’t guarantee faithful adult children
How to love your adult child without compromising your convictions
The difference between healthy support and enabling
How to trust God’s sovereignty when your adult child walks away
How to pray with endurance when God’s answers seem delayed

    1. Cee Gee says:

I did not have time to listen to all of this, but thought I’d share. I have read some of Mary’s books and followed her on FB.

      1. Heather O'Malley says:

Thank you for this, Cee Gee. I’ll check it out.

    7. Mercy says:

Thank you Cee Gee. I need to check it out. All good vulnerable points of families. Worth knowing and reinforcing.

  15. Cee Gee says:

    Luke 24:47
47 It was also written that this message would be proclaimed in the authority of his name to all the nations,[a] beginning in Jerusalem: ‘There is forgiveness of sins for all who repent.

“From Enduring Word Study Bible (Luke 24:46-47)
Jesus wanted them to understand that the cross was not an unfortunate obstacle that had to be overcome. It was a necessary part of God’s redemptive plan for humanity. Repentance and remission of sins were brought to the world in the name of a crucified and risen Savior.”

May we worship our crucified and risen Savior with our who!e hearts.

SONG SHARE (Ilive singing this at church!):
Trust in God by Elevation Worship
    Love, hugs, and prayers! ❤
    Lyrics:
    Blessed assurance
    Jesus is mine
He’s been my fourth man in the fire
    Time after time

    Born of His Spirit
    Washed in His blood
And what He did for me on Calvary
    Is more than enough

    I trust in God
    My Savior
The One who will never fail
    He will never fail

    Perfect submission
    All is at rest
I know the Author of tomorrow
    Has ordered my steps

    So this is my story
    And this is my song
Praising my risen King and Savior
    All the day long

I sought the Lord and He heard and He answered
I sought the Lord and He heard and He answered
I sought the Lord and He heard and He answered
    That’s why I trust Him
    That’s why I trust Him

  16. Rhonda J. says:

Repent. It took me a long time to realize that I was a sinner. Sounds funny, but let me explain. When you grow up in church you come to just place yourself in the “Jesus club” or church club and separate yourself from the unchurched. Seeing them as the lost and yourself as the found. It wasn’t until I found my life out of my own control and that I needed Jesus in a “new” way. But then my life before suddenly became clear, that I too, was not the “son that was home with the father as I had been” at some point I had become the younger son that HAD gone off into the world. And I WAS dirty in that pig pen and didn’t even realize it! I needed to come home to my Father. And I cried and saw my fifth. And it was shameful. That was a good turning point. But the sneaky little devil knew he could still get me with my flesh. He knows your weaknesses. But God- He can and does help us with every weakness and makes us strong! He gives forgiveness when we recognize our sin, we have the Holy Spirit in us, but we must give him space and reliance on Him, not our flesh. We must take every thought captive. We must not conform to this world…but test everything through God! I am running out of time….
Gotta to get ready!! I am helping with baptism Sunday today!!! So I was going to get to that!! But such a fun day!! Love to ya’ll—

    1. Cee Gee says:

    .
    Psalm 33:1-5 NLT
“Let the godly sing for joy to the Lord; it is fitting for the pure to praise him.
Praise the Lord with melodies on the lyre; make music for him on the ten-stringed harp.
Sing a new song of praise to him; play skillfully on the harp, and sing with joy.
For the word of the Lord holds true, and we can trust everything he does.
He loves whatever is just and good; the unfailing love of the Lord fills the earth.”
    .
May you gather with the saints in your local church in praise to our Awesome God today.
