Psalm 73:28

Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the good news of Jesus with us wherever we go.

This week, we will work on memorizing the next portion of Psalm 73:28. Make a practice of repeating it to yourself as you go about your week, saying it out loud or thinking about it throughout the day.

But as for me, God’s presence is my good.
I have made the Lord GOD my refuge,
so I can tell about all you do.
—Psalm 73:28

“The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold” (Psalm 18:1).

Thank You Lord for all the ways You surround me with Your strength and stability so that I may rest and be at peace.

The Lord GOD is my refuge in the storms that this life will bring.

This reminded me of Mark 4:35-41. Jesus was sleeping, in the middle of a storm. I wrote down in the margin of my Bible: “Jesus is resting. And if the captain of my life is resting and not worried about it, why should I?” (A comment from Claudia Elise Routson, from Day 25 of the Job reading plan — had to look that up, lol)

And again, from today’s verse in YouVersion, 1 John 4:4
    — “You are from God, little children, and you have conquered them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” (CBS)
    — “But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.” (NLT)

The Lord GOD is our refuge because the victory of the battle is His.
The Lord GOD is our refuge because He is in control.
The Lord GOD is our refuge because we are His.

    Dear Father,

Thank you for being our Refuge, our Saviour.

    Remind us that:
You are greater than the doubts that clutter our mind.
You are greater than the enemies that frustrate our plans.
You are greater than the heart-wrenching and soul-crushing situation that’s currently consuming our thoughts.

We can navigate the storms and fight the battles because You have conquered death.
May we turn to You and make You our refuge.

    AMEN.

I Looked up refuge… just to be clear.

REFUGE: the state of being safe or sheltered from pursuit, danger, or difficulty.

In this life, the Lord God has given me, there for sure are moments when I need to feel safe.. moments when I need to be sheltered from the storms of life.. moments when danger is near, … moments when in difficulty, I can stand..

    I can stand..

    Because..

I HAVE MADE THE LORD GOD MY REFUGE.

    In Him, I/we are safe.

In Him there is always shelter from the storms of life, whatever they look like.

In Him, though the dangers are there, He is near to bring me/us through.

In Him, when things get tough, difficult.. He lightens our load..

    BUT GOD..

I HAVE MADE THE LORD GOD MY REFUGE.

    AMEN.

Happy Sunday dear hearts covered in much prayer, love and hugs from across the pond..❤️
