Weekly Truth

Open Your Bible

Judges 2:11-12

Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry His Word with us wherever we go.

This week we’ll continue to memorize Judges 2:11–12a. We’ll memorize the rest of verse 11 and part of verse 12, a reminder of how God’s people continued to abandon Him for other gods.

11 The Israelites did what was evil in the Lord’s sight. They worshiped the Baals 12 and abandoned the Lord, the God of their ancestors, who had brought them out of Egypt.
—Judges 2:11–12a

Our sermon at church today was SO good! Awake to individualism. He touched on some hot topics in the secular world today. The main idea is that our culture proclaims that we can find identity and peace within ourselves, yet we can only find our true identity in Christ. He talked about how such empty promises have devastating effects, loneliness, exhaustion, weakening of institutional trust. The gospel gives us hope. We belong to God!

MARTHA HIX – I’m so sorry to hear about your flooding…ugh

    Happy Sunday She’s!

  2. MARTHA HIX says:

Thank you @Kelly (Neo) for asking about my moving to Waco.
On July 15, my powder room toilet overflowed apparently all night, and flooded 3/4 of my house. Insurance has taken much longer than expected. I am now on my third adjuster. This week on Thursday, the pack out company will be moving my furniture and personal items back into my house that were removed to do repairs. Bookcases and closet items that were packed up I’m going to leave in boxes. Praying for wisdom and direction. Thank you so much for continuing to remember and praying for me. ❤️

Happy Sunday! From Paul’s letter to the Christians in Rome, “Therefore, brothers and sisters, in view of the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your true worship. Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God” (12:1-2).
