Text: Lamentations 3:22-23
We believe memorizing scripture is one of the best ways to carry the Word of our God with us wherever we go—to have God-breathed truth, instruction and reproof in our hearts and minds as we live unto Him each day.
This week we’ve chosen a promise to keep close this Lenten season.
“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.”
-Lamentations 3:22-23, ESV
Write this verse down—copy it twenty time if that helps! Post it on your mirror or at your desk, in your car or on the fridge—anywhere you’ll see it often. Save the image below as your phone’s lock screen so you can read these words of truth throughout the day.
We want to be a community that is intentional about scripture memorization. Will you join us?

So hopeful to have this verse!
Not only are these words so encouraging. But even more so the context out of which they are spoken! We areBlessed today to bless.
Can someone interpret this for me I’m not sure on the meaning
God never gives up on us even though we fail him time and time again. His grace is always enough for us.
This is SO exciting! I've been following along since Summer 2012 and am continuing to love this tool. Thanks ladies!
Love this verse! One of my favorites!! Although my faithfulness is not great, I know my Savior’s is! He will never leave me not for sake me! Grace upon grace upon grace does God have for his children!
Love love love this verse. Such a hopeful promise to remember
I love this new lockscreen… thank you so much for the beautiful reminder…
I purchased the workbook version of this study and it came with two of the beautiful prints of verses, including this one. I put it in a frame in our bathroom. It's been there since Ash Wednesday and may stay there forever! My husband and I are two months into the restoration our marriage after a long period of infidelity. This verse reminds us that God's love never left us and never will leave us. It is also the basis for one of my favorite hymns, "Great is Thy Faithfulness." Morning by morning new mercies I see. All I have needed, thy hand hath provided, Great is thy faithfulness, Lord unto me. I've learned so much about mercy in the restoration process. It is different than grace. Grace is a gift God give us although we don't deserve it. Mercy happens when God refrains (or we refrain) from punishing someone whom the world would say deserves to be punished. Showing mercy to a repentant spouse can be possible only through the steadfast love of God. Mercy allows each day to be a new beginning for our marriage.
Wow love this explanation of mercy and grace. Thanks for sharing. Have always loved this verse!
Thank you for sharing! As my marriage goes through a very hard time, and now unfortunately entering into separation, I was just thinking that I already read this today but I wanted to look and see if there were any new comments. Yours was the first that popped into my screen and although my situation may be different, it reminded me there is always hope in our Lord, regardless of what outer circumstances may be showing :)
Thank you for sharing. I’m going through this in my marriage now. Believing in God’s faithfulness and trying to stay strong.
What amazing, incomparable love God has for us! Oh to be filled with such love! This description of God’s love gives a whole new meaning to the phrase “to love as God loves.” Would You, Father, teach my heart to love like You – steadfast and not dependent on what others do to me but motivated completely by what You’ve already done for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Because of The Lords GREAT LOVE! I will never know a love like His from anyone or anything on this earth lord thank you so much for loving me the way ONLY YOU can love me and teach me to love EVERYBODY( nice, mean, kind, unkind, people who have done good to me an people who have done bad to me) teach me how to love like you love. Amen
Definitely needed this reminder today. How beautiful and comforting to know that no matter what happened in the past, Gods love is consistent and each day brings a new chance to live faithfully.
I love how the NIV translation begins:
22 Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.
I am not consumed! My circumstances will not overwhelm me because of His great love. This brings so much hope and peace. And a comforting reminder of how mighty our God is. Grateful His compassions for me, for us never fail.
Please pray for Meghan. She is a drug addict. She is going to end up dead. I gave this verse to her yesterday. Pray with me that she goes to teen challenge and God grips her life. Thankyou SRT for sharing truth. We all need his word over us.
Praying
I can’t seem to save this week’s print image. This could quite possibly due to my older phone, but didn’t know if I was alone in this. This week’s is extra beautiful.
I’m having problems saving the image too.
I can’t save the scripture memory verse either! And I have a new iPhone so that’s not the problem. Dang.
I held down my finger for many seconds to select the image on my phone. Then it gave me the option to save it. It worked! Beautiful truth!
My favorite Scripture!
Each day is a new beginning…..the opportunity to live my life for Christ. Yesterday I did not start my day with my SRT study, however, for the first time since last fall I laced up my running shoes for an outdoor run. For the first time in what seems like forever we have double digits ABOVE zero. The road was icy and snow covered (we live on a long dirt road), but oh the joy. Praising my savior for the sunshine, the promise of Spring….that time alone….just me and Him…..no distractions. Man have I missed that time…..I don't get that same feeling of oneness on the treadmill or doing circuit training….stride by stride I drew in closer to Him……ahhhhhhh….what a renewal of Spirit……..Great is thy faithfulness!
A love that NEVER ends. Mercy that NEVER ends. Every sunrise is a reflection of His faithfulness. And with EVERY sunrise comes new mercies and second chances. A new chance to love and be loved by a kind and faithful Father. How great the Father’s love for us! This morning my heart is full beyond words!
I had a rough yesterday…one angry gal..Yep angry!! A few days ago I had been thinking how my earthly daddy protected me…as the days went on I remembered that on March 5 he died. It's been over 15 years but the thought, situations arising that stirred up protection, surrounded me. Then yesterday that lack of protection from another slayed me. But today I read and smile. For I know His mercies will overwhelm me today. As I read, my heart opened.
Pour your Love and Mercy every morning into my heart and life Lord, how I need it!
What translation is the main verse in the print from? I can’t seem to find it in my bible app
ESV….English Standard Version
Favorite verse. No matter how many times this S-A-H mama screws up, I can start fresh every am! Thank you, Jesus, for Your grace, Your love, and Your faithfulness. I am not deserving, but I am oh, so grateful.
Love this beautiful reminder of mercy and faithfulness in the midst of the mourning of Lamentations. And the print is gorgeous.
Thankful that no matter how many times I mess up, God still loves me and gives me a fresh start.
Thankful for the reminder that each day is new.
May the Lord continue to sustain me. While I may not understand His reasoning and timing, I pray I remain faithful to his promises and unending love.
Love this verse, and this beautiful print!
