Matthew 11:28

Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the good news of Jesus with us wherever we go.

This week we will memorize Matthew 11:28, the key verse for this reading plan. These words are an invitation from Jesus to discover the true rest that is only possible with Him.

 “Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
—Matthew 11:28

    Why is it so hard to surrender? Upon surrendering, repenting, being washed clean, why is it so easy to pick up the burdens, to do what you don’t want to do? Every hour, every moment, I need you, Jesus!

    How wonderfully restful Sundays are. Time to linger long in the Word. Time to lift hands high and bow low in worship. To gratefully obey His command to keep His day holy.

    I know. I know. Not every Sunday is restful.

    I know me. I know how easily I’m distracted. I’m well aware of my to-do list. I absolutely have to be intentional to observe Sunday His way and not mine.

    And when I do.. I rest. I really rest. Because I’m spending the day with my Father, my good good Father. Who unburdens me by taking them to Himself.

    Good, Happy Lord’s day!

    We had a wonderful morning serving and praising at church! We are greeters, but really I roam all around and talk to so many people while my hubby stays at the door!! God is bringing SO many new people to our church, and the Spirit is there!! What a blessing!! I love that my heart is on fire for the Lord!! He wants us to empty ourselves, and let the Spirit fill us with his LOVE!! “Then Christ Came” plays right now, which perfectly captures what I am trying to say!! Mercyme with Phil Wickham…give it a listen right now on youtube!! Then Christ came…changing everything. Jesus, you gave me purpose! Jesus, you are the one I’m made for! Every song I will sing for HIM……..!!
    Hallelujah!
    Singing with JOY today!!

    Love you all!!

    Thank you Lord for your rest ❤️ I haven’t commented in awhile, so I thought I should give you guys an update. My husband got the car part in but didn’t fix it. It ended up being something that he wasn’t comfortable fixing, so we took it to a shop. They can’t get us in until the end of February/early March. We only have one vehicle and that’s the vehicle. I’m praying they have an opening early so we can get our car fixed. Paying for the repairs is going to be a different story. We have some credit card debt because we were young and didn’t know much about credit cards. So now we’re trying to get that paid off. It’s been a struggle but I know the Lord has got us ❤️ and He will provide for us. I saw someone say before “Gods will Gods bill” and that has stuck with me. He doesn’t give you anything without providing. He’s not gonna let us get stuck in a situation we can’t handle. Thank you for all of the prayers. Praying for all of you ❤️ I hope everyone has a blessed Sunday!!

    TINA – Loved “Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.” Thanks!

    Praise the Lord for His rest.
    “Rejoice in the Lord, you righteous ones;
    praise from the upright is beautiful.
    2 Praise the Lord with the lyre;
    make music to him with a ten-stringed harp.
    3 Sing a new song to him;
    play skillfully on the strings, with a joyful shout.
    4 For the word of the Lord is right,
    and all his work is trustworthy.
    5 He loves righteousness and justice;
    the earth is full of the Lord’s unfailing love.

    20 We wait for the Lord;
    he is our help and shield.
    21 For our hearts rejoice in him
    because we trust in his holy name.
    22 May your faithful love rest on us, Lord,
    for we put our hope in you.” Psalm 33: 1-5, 20-22.

    Lord, I am willing…
    To take off my burdens of worries, indecision and pressures from worldly expectations
    and put on…
    Submission to You, trusting that You know what’s best for me.
    For You are good and Your ways are perfect.
    What peace in knowing that I am Yours ❤️

    And every time I try to replace His yoke with my burdens, may I have that reminder that His leading is so much lighter!

    Have a blessed Sunday everyone xx

    This is from the Message Bible.. a little bit more my language, and understanding I guess.

    “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”
    Matthew 11:28‭-‬30 MSG

    Coming Lord. Coming.

    BUT GOD.

    Amen.

    Happy Sunday dear ones.. wrapped in love, hugs and prayers..❤
