Matthew 7:7-11

Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the good news of Jesus with us wherever we go.

This week we will continue memorizing our key passage, Matthew 7:7–11. Last week we started with verses 7–8, and this week we encourage you to keep going! Try adding verses 9–11, where Jesus reminds us that God delights to answer our prayers.

“Ask, and it will be given to you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. Who among you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him.”
—Matthew 7:7–11

I usually read from “The New Living Translation” when I read, this is how verse 11 is stated: “So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask Him.” This verse reminds me it doesn’t matter if I’m good or bad as long as I ask God and Christ for what I need and am a child of His, He will EVENTUALLY give it to me.
Father God, my One and Only Heavenly Father, I ask now that You be with me and all my sisters and brothers as we journey through the coming week. You and ONLY You know what is in store for us. Be at our side in the form of the Holy Spirit. Remind us You NEVER, EVER turn Your back on us even if we turn our backs on You. In Christ’s name, amen.
Sisters be blessed and know you can ask the Lord for your needs.

“If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him.” Father God, we are asking for good things. Please heal @ Morgan Benner’s dad. Please let her enjoy years of knowing her dad as a believer. Please God, spare his life so he will know his grand-daughter and she will know him. You are gracious, loving and kind, merciful and compassionate. Your will be done.

@Morgan Benner – I will continue to pray for your dad, please keep us all updated.

Friday evening I was in a very bad way mentally. And I felt so defeated, like Satan had won…But God! Praise to His name – on Saturday I woke up feeling better and set my mind to thinking on things good and lovely. (Philippians 4:8) My husband was next door at the church putting the finishing touches on Sunday’s sermon and my son was out. I was all alone in my kitchen baking and cooking for a house warming we were going to that afternoon — and I was having my own private worship service! Two songs I played repeatedly as my heart was filled with God’s presence and love – Gratitude by Brandon Lake and God Really Loves Us by Dante Bowe and David Crowder. Raising my hands to God in worship and singing my heart out, what a joy! And I thought – if my neighbors look in and see me they will think “what in the world is going on over there!” But what joy I had! God lifted my spirits through the presence and power of His Holy Spirit. So thankful that God is my Father, Jesus is my Savior and the Holy Spirit is my Comforter!!

Have a blessed Sunday all my She sisters. May you find peace and blessing in worship today as you gather with your church community. ❤️
