Hebrews 12:1-2

Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the good news of Jesus with us wherever we go.

For this reading plan, we’ve worked on memorizing Hebrews 12:1–2. Test your memory by reciting the passage out loud several times. As you recite, reflect on the encouragement to endure in faith as Christ has endured on our behalf.

Therefore, since we also have such a large cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us lay aside every hindrance and the sin that so easily ensnares us. Let us run with endurance the race that lies before us, keeping our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith. For the joy that lay before him, he endured the cross, despising the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
—Hebrews 12:1–2

KAT D, I love what you added and had the same thought of Jesus running along side and waiting for me at the finish line!

  4. Kat D says:

“I am responsible for staying in my lane and keeping my focus on Jesus.”. Thank you for these words Cee Gee.

If you are a spectator, remember it is not your race. Make sure your words cheer and encourage others. Show them Gods love, grace, and mercy. Remember that Jesus is their coach and ours.

@Angie Mills just wanted to let you know I loved your post yesterday to Taylor about being single. As I’ve mentioned before I am uncomfortably single 31 year old right now and I hate the feeling of potentially being alone forever. I appreciate your take on it and pray that I can find that contentment in being single. You are a light to others!

Thank you Rhonda J. and Searching for your sweet encouragement, love you sisters. Mari, I would love some California weather, we got 10 inches of snow this weekend, below zero here, -12 celcius (10F), but by God’s grace no wind chills. May you all enjoy the Lord’s Day with increasing thankfulness and continuing hope. Be blessed dear sisters.

I’ve fallen off track with some of my habits lately but I am determined to get back on track, not in my own strength alone but with God’s help <3

Happy Sunday beautiful SRT sisters! It’s cloudy ☁️ here in sunny California, but thankfully it’s not too cold, only 55°. As I been reading in the comments I’m going to say it as well: Happy (belated) Birthday Traci!
I hope you had a wonderful day young lady. God is so good! I love, love being part of this beautiful wonderful group of ladies. I was at the beginning stages of a slight cold yesterday and today I woke up worse. Please pray for me because I really need to work. I’m going to do church online today. And I feel sad because I really like to go with my kids in person. But I need to get well.

  14. Laurel says:

Thank you Kat and Heidi for sharing; both comments are insightful and relevant to the study of Hebrews…

  15. Heidi V says:

Thought I would go ahead and share the benediction to our study for those of you that don’t have the study book. Leviticus 26:11–13 “I will place my residence among you, and I will not reject you. I will walk among you and be your God, and you will be my people. I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, so that you would no longer be their slaves. I broke the bars of your yoke and enabled you to live in freedom.“

Happy birthday Traci Gendron and happy birthday Taylor. I’ve been catching up on the reading comments as I fell behind when my son got sick 2 weeks ago with his first cold/ ear infection combo. Jen brewer praying that your littles recover soon, I had no idea how exhausting and scary it could be !

“Let us run with endurance the race that lies before us…”
This reminded me that in today’s competitive track events, each athlete is given an identity and a lane in which to run. I am not to try to run someone else’s race (a different lane), but I am responsible for staying in my lane and keeping my focus on Jesus. This study has been so encouraging. Thank you, SRT!

  22. Kat D says:

From my study bible: “Our responsibility to him as his children is to study his character so that we will know, without a doubt, that whatever way he deals with our circumstances in life, it’s the right way. Even when things don’t work out the way we planned or desired, he is all-knowing, all-loving, the beginning and the ending…his hope will not disappoint.”

  23. Rhonda J. says:

Isn’t that a GLORIOUS verse?! Happy Sunday She’s!

To KNOW that Jesus endured the agony…the suffering, the shame….because JOY WAS AHEAD! I guess we women can relate that most easily to childbirth! (With no epidural!)

Beauty from ashes, I am seeing that around my yard from hurricane Ian. The trees are turning green again, the bougainvillea on my deck that I’m sitting on is fully green and now starting to get its amazing magenta blooms, and a cardinal just landed there.

Have a fabulous Sunday sisters and again, Happy Birthday dear Traci! Love ya!

  24. Kelly (NEO) says:

Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of my faith, lead me this day to be a light for You. May I reflect Your mercy and peace to those around me.

    TRACIE G-happy birthday

DOROTHY – praying all goes smoothly with the move

  25. TIna says:
