Hebrews 12:1-2

Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the good news of Jesus with us wherever we go.

This week we will continue memorizing our key passage by adding verse 2. It reminds us of the way Jesus endured the ultimate suffering and shame on the cross so that we could be reconciled to God.

Therefore, since we also have such a large cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us lay aside every hindrance and the sin that so easily ensnares us. Let us run with endurance the race that lies before us, keeping our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith. For the joy that lay before him, he endured the cross, despising the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
—Hebrews 12:1–2

How awesome that todays scripture is the same as what is being illuminated by my service this morning.

@Carol M– I found SRT through a friend in California. I met her through someone from my church who moved to California and they were working together. I think she still is on here, just never comments! Lol

Thank you Vanessa, if you are reading this <3 this community has blessed me. I hope you are well!

I am also in Pennsylvania, Carol. I live in the Poconos. There's a few other wonderful women who live the state too- in our community ;)

Let us lay aside every weight, letting go of all that hinders us from running to Jesus. I fix my eyes on Him, laying down my pride. Letting go of shame and guilt. Following Him. Obedience in my thoughts, words, and actions. He has washed all of the sins away. Expectations laid down. Doubt laid down. Regrets laid down. Bitterness laid down. Anxiety laid down. Longings laid down. Sickness laid down. Sadness laid down. Exhaustion laid down. Uncertainty laid down. Frustration laid down. Pride laid down. Hard things, all laid down at the feet of Jesus. I lift my eyes to Him. I lift my spirit in gratitude and awe of the faithful ones who surround me in the clouds, in the heavenly Kingdom. Praise and prayers lift me and I enter the holy place with Christ in eternal union with Him. He is here. He is with me. So I can stand, walk, and run with endurance the race set before me. Amen. (From Hebrews 12).

Laura, I will pray for your daughter too! I have lived a similar situation with my son and I know the ache your heart is feeling. We have to give it to God every single day and trust that He will draw our children back to Himself. Praying for peace for your heart as well.

  5. Susan says:

Laura, I will join you in praying for your daughter. Lord, just as You breathed new life into my son many years ago, when he was dead dry bones, breathe Your new life into Laura’s daughter. Nothing is impossible with You! May the seeds that were planted in her life as a child, sprout and grow….watered with our prayers and Your Holy Spirit. Father surround her with people who will speak Your truth into her life. Father open her eyes to see and her ears to hear. Our hope is in You! In Jesus mighty name, Amen.

Thank you, KELLY (NEO), for remembering my daughter in prayer. It’s been awhile since I have posted, but prayers are still needed for her. We have not seen her since March and facing the holidays and our other daughter’s wedding without her is really weighing on me. Please continue to pray for her salvation. She is so lost and just grasping at things to bring meaning to her life, all the while rejecting the faith she was raised in. By rejecting God, she is rejecting her family. My heart hurts every day and I am clinging to HOPE that God will pursue her, that He will turn her heart towards Him and that she will one day return to us. I selfishly pray that it will be soon!

I have a few areas of my life where my focus has got to remain on the end prize and the joy that awaits me there… so many races we are all running today. I am having to learn which ones are GOOD but that I need to let go of in order to maintain my continued focus toward the Main Calling. Praying for the Lord to restore my focus and encourage my steps, especially in areas the enemy is working so hard to trip me up. Happy Sunday friends :)

  8. Heidi says:

KELLY (NEO)- loved that last line-
The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me.
    Lord, your faithful love endures forever;
do not abandon the work of your hands.

And I think goes well with the scripture today- let us keep running, eyes up, intention-minded, enduring what brokenness we will encounter for the sake of fulfilling the purpose of carrying His name into all parts of the world. :) :)
