Leviticus 20:26

Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry His Word with us wherever we go.

For this reading plan, we will memorize our key verse, Leviticus 20:26, where God commands Israel to live as His holy people. We will start by memorizing the first portion this week.

“You are to be holy to me because I, the LORD, am holy, and I have set you apart from the nations to be mine.”
—Leviticus 20:26

    Good morning She’s!! I have Internet finally on my phone since last night! Wow, what a ride that hurricane was here in south Fort Myers! We still dont have power, but we are fortunate enough to have a generator! So we have food and water, and all that we need! Our particular neighborhood got flood damage and debris, and lost our cars, mine included, but my husbands worked being higher, so another blessing. I went with my church to volunteer yesterday for cleanup and we came right back to my area because so many had flooding of 7 to 8 feet in their homes! So many miraculous stories. It is such a blessing for us to help others and definitely a blessing for them to have help in such a devastating time! We were able to pray with all of them, and let them know we have a God bigger than Ian, which really shows great power! He is our source of peace, guidance, and blessings, even when we feel all but lost.
    Thank you my sisters and friends for all the prayers! I was able to keep reading my Bible but really missed the commentary and all the help in understanding Leviticus better! I will have to go back and read!
    Hope you all have a great Sunday and wherever you are in your journey keep yours eyes up, your heart with our Lord, and your ligh shining and hands and feet moving! He is bigger than all our worries, trials, and problems!

    “You shall be holy for me, because I, Yahweh, am holy, and I have singled you out from the nations to be mine” (Leviticus 20:26). Be Mine. I am thinking of the heart-shaped candy with these words stamped upon it. A message of love. The desire to be wanted is fulfilled in these two words. God calls us out of the bitter darkness into His sweet love and light. He calls us to be holy, for Him. Because He is. And because He wants us to be near Him. So He can love us. And He loved the world so much that He gave His own life for ours. His Son reached across the wilderness to make a way for us to come home. He made the holiness code simple for us. Jesus came to give us healing and holiness through Himself. I am not worthy, but I am holy, I am clean, I am set apart for God. I am His, and He is mine. My forever valentine. And He is making all things new. My love grows for Him day by day. Father God, I come to You with all that I have, all that I am, all my questions and imperfections. I lay them at Your altar. Let Your holy fire refine me. Take the bitter and make it sweet. Take the darkness and shine Your light in its place. Burn away my pride, my doubt, my fear, and let Your love reveal Your glory in my salvation. Help me reflect Your pure goodness no matter where I am or what I go through. Help me be holy because You are holy, and I want to be near You. “Trust Him at all times, pour out before Him your heart. God is a refuge for us. Selah” (Psalm 62:8). Maranatha. Amen.

    As you gather to worship today, let us sing with the psalist,
    “Oh sing to the Lord a new song;
    sing to the Lord, all the earth!

    Sing to the Lord, bless his name;
    tell of his salvation from day to day.

    Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples!

    For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; he is to be feared above all gods.

    For all the gods of the peoples are worthless idols, but the Lord made the heavens.

    Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.

    Ascribe to the Lord, O families of the peoples, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength!

    Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; bring an offering, and come into his courts!

    Worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness; tremble before him, all the earth!

    Say among the nations, “The Lord reigns! Yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved; he will judge the peoples with equity.”

    Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; let the sea roar, and all that fills it;

    Let the field exult, and everything in it! Then shall all the trees of the forest sing for joy

    Before the Lord, for he comes, for he comes to judge the earth.
    He will judge the world in righteousness,and the peoples in his faithfulness.”
    (Psalm 96)
