John 3:16-17

Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the good news of Jesus with us wherever we go.

For this reading plan, we have memorized our key passage, John 3:16–17. Test your memorization of the verses by repeating them out loud several times.

“For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”
––John 3:16–17

I am sorry for your loss Rebecca. And glad you are recovering quickly! And let me add how cool it is that you are in Israel on a dig!!! That is really neat. I hope that as you go home for the funeral you will be able to celebrate your MIL’s life and everyone will know the depth and truth that we are all going to be there one day, and we better be ready! And while we are here we can live in a better way knowing Jesus! Have a safe trip back.

What is my name? What does my name convey to myself, and what does it represent to others?

What will my friends and family remember about me when I’m gone?

We want our name to represent so much in this day of social media! How am I presenting myself, what am I posting? How many people follow me, how many “like” my posts? Do they know I’m a Christian by my page? Do they know I love the Lord. Do I show patience and love to others when I comment? Do I stand for my values and convictions?

We have such a different way to interact and be social then we did some years ago. Have you ever seen someone post something and it change your whole opionion of them? We judge as we scroll. We see who believes what, and we see the exterior shell of some, and the heart of others. It’s suuch a juxtopostion.

But God…He renames us when we are born again! We are to shine for Him. It is not about us anymore. We are a child of God, to go and make disciples and share the good news everywhere! Everywhere! I don’t want to be known as a good, sweet person. I do, but more so, I want everyone to know how much I loved Jesus. Do you know the song by Casting Crowns “Only Jesus?!” That will be my legacy I pray….that I know where I’m going, I KNOW I have a heavenly home, and will forever be in His glory! I have a precious, precious video of my mother (in heaven now) surrounded by her grandchildren saying she wants all of us to believe in Jesus and be in heaven together one day. What a gift. We never know when our last breath will come so don’t wait.

Loved, LOVED, LOVED!!!! this study, greatly helped me to know what to tell others what the Gospel is. Can’t wait for the study on “This Is The Church”. The next study brings to mind the song “Sunday Sermons” by Anne Wilson.
God’s, Jesus’, and the Holy Spirit’s love stretches SO FAR AND SO WIDE that we may never know it FULLY UNTIL we meet with God and Christ face-to-face.
Be blessed and remember you are LOVED UNCONDITIONALLY sisters.

  4. Jennifer Loves Jesus says:

God sent His Son to save us from the darkness. Truth sets us free. Truth is being attacked in America and beyond because it shines light on the things of darkness. I watched a documentary called “What is a Woman?” last night. Light can seem a terrible thing when you face the truth of what evil looks like. Children and women are being attacked in the name of a twisted thing called love. I am praying fervently for the shroud of deceit to be lifted from the eyes and hearts blinded by lies. Jesus, come soon. And in the meantime help us as Your followers to do our part in snatching the innocent from the domain of darkness and transfer them to Your Kingdom. Help us hold firm to the truth sealed in us by Your Holy Spirit. May our SRT community continue to be an encouraging and strengthening place to come and be reminded that abiding in the Word is what it takes to stay in the fight. Reading further to John 8…

31 Then Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you continue in my word, you really are my disciples. 32 You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” 33 “We are descendants of Abraham,” they answered him, “and we have never been enslaved to anyone. How can you say, ‘You will become free’? ” 34 Jesus responded, “Truly I tell you, everyone who commits sin is a slave of sin. 35 A slave does not remain in the household forever, but a son does remain forever. 36 So if the Son sets you free, you really will be free. 37 I know you are descendants of Abraham, but you are trying to kill me because my word has no place among you. 38 I speak what I have seen in the presence of the Father; so then, you do what you have heard from your father.” 39 “Our father is Abraham,” they replied.“If you were Abraham’s children,” Jesus told them, “you would do what Abraham did. 40 But now you are trying to kill me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God. Abraham did not do this. 41 You’re doing what your father does.”

“We weren’t born of sexual immorality,” they said. “We have one Father — God.” 42 Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, because I came from God and I am here. For I didn’t come on my own, but he sent me. 43 Why don’t you understand what I say? Because you cannot listen to my word. 44 You are of your father the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he tells a lie, he speaks from his own nature, because he is a liar and the father of lies. 45 Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me. 46 Who among you can convict me of sin? If I am telling the truth, why don’t you believe me? 47 The one who is from God listens to God’s words. This is why you don’t listen, because you are not from God.” – John 8:31-47

  5. Traci Gendron says:

Oh Rachel, I’m so sorry that you couldn’t make it back to your MIL before she passed. But we as believers know where our loved ones are. It gives us so much peace.

  6. Marilyn Jones says:

I have been reading with you all for 10 studies now. This study I feel I have learned more from. I believe the more I’m in the word, the easier it gets for me to understand God’s word.

  7. Mari V says:

As much as I try to sleep in, my body wakes up automatically as if i’m going to work. I made myself stay in bed until least 6 AM. But I long to be here with all of you in God’s Word. And even though I’m still sad inside I’m so glad to be here with all of you. Please continue to pray for all the unknowns at my workplace. I don’t like that feeling of dreading going to work. I’m thankful I have a job year around but sometimes I wish I could take the Summer off like the teachers do. Thanking God that He does not condemn me. I am saved! I belong to HIM. I am a child of the most High King!

  8. Searching says:

MARTHA HIX – so good to see your post yesterday
RACHEL – praying for your health and for family’s sadness over your MIL’s homegoing. Sometimes hard to remember the sadness is only here, lots of rejoicing in heaven!
MARI V – praying for God’s wisdom, guidance and provision
DOROTHY – ouch! I don’t think about how hard heads are until I unexpected encounter one, as you did. Praying for you and also Kaylee’s health.
LEHUA – praying for wisdom and guidance in your health decisions
