Acts 13:17-23

Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry His Word with us wherever we go.

Test your memory by saying Acts 13:17–23 from memory aloud, reflecting on all you have learned in your study of the Old Testament.

17 The God of this people Israel chose our ancestors, made the people prosper during their stay in the land of Egypt, and led them out of it with a mighty arm. 18 And for about forty years he put up with them in the wilderness; 19 and after destroying seven nations in the land of Canaan, he gave them their land as an inheritance. 20 This all took about 450 years. After this, he gave them judges until Samuel the prophet. 21 Then they asked for a king, and God gave them Saul the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for forty years. 22 After removing him, he raised up David as their king and testified about him, “I have found David the son of Jesse to be a man after my own heart, who will carry out all my will.”

23 From this man’s descendants, as he promised, God brought to Israel the Savior, Jesus.

I’ve been blessed by this study and doing it alongside all of you! It’s been foundational for my understanding of the OT- I definitely still have much to learn! It’s sad, I used to approach the OT so fearful and intimated by all of it. But this study has really opened my eyes to the richness of it, so thankful for that!

Sarah Rose, me too! I’m glad we could do this study together and learn about God’s love for us His people.

Also Mari V. my sons and niece loved church camp. My oldest son had made a decision after going to church camp to become a minister (this is the one that died). My niece had anxiety problems also but everything turned out okay and she went for five years straight. I will be praying for her.

Rhonda J and all who watch “The Chosen”, there’s a podcast called “The Unfolding” in which I heard the director of “The Chosen” has told his story.
Jenn who’s the author or where have you found these books about the different books and people of the Bible?
One last thing, the couple I work for were watching “NCIS” and at the end of the show the head of the department read a poem that really struck me since I have lost my niece recently and my son about 18 years ago. The name of the poem is “Epitaph” it is by Merrit Malloy. Anyone who has had a recent lose might want to look it up and read it.
Peace and love of Christ to all of you my sisters.

I read the other night from Beth Moore’s devotional book I’m reading — “Portraits of Devotion” — “God wants to be found. He does not will for any to miss Him, and He is so gracious to show up right where we are looking — so He can take us beyond anything we’ve ever seen.” We have been talking about how we need to carry on the Word of God and I thought this so appropriate.
Have a blessed and wonderful Sunday sisters.

LAUREN- that’s amazing! I did a book study of the book of Noah called Flooded earlier this year and it caused me to want more. After Noah, I did one on Numbers called With Us in the Wilderness and now I am currently doing one on Hebrews called Better and I have one on Joshua on deck and also one on Exodus that comes out in October. These studies really break down each book verse by verse giving a better understanding of each one and I just can’t get enough.

Good morning SRT sisters! Happy Sunday to you all. TODAY has come to quickly. Prayers are appreciated for my daughter who leaves for Christian Camp here soon. For an entire week!! This will be the very first time that we will be apart for this many days and there will be no communication. They will give up their phones and focus on Jesus. Please pray for her safety and the safety of all the other students, staff, counselors and everyone involved. Please pray that her relationship with Jesus would be strengthened. She has had some anxiety so the fact that she’s even going for a week is a miracle in itself. I’m also praying that she would have an amazing fun time while drawing closer to Jesus.

Happy Sunday! What an amazing study with an amazing group of women! Continued prayer for a healthy pregnancy are much appreciated, I have my first ultrasound in about 2 weeks and the enemy is trying to steal my joy by reminding me of our last “first ultrasound” which is when we discovered the miscarriage.

    1. Victoria E says:

But I am determined to lean on God like never before and ask Him to carry me through the next 36 weeks! Thank you all for praying

    2. Mari V says:

That’s exactly how I’ve been praying for you Victoria. A healthy pregnancy. Enjoy your Sunday sweet girl.

      1. Victoria E says:

Thank you Mari V!! I’m praying for you and your daughter as well.

Was afraid I wouldn’t make it through the whole OT study. (I also, Beverly was so behind… I replied to your comment the other day.) I felt so far behind, it was, like, there is NO WAY I can catch up now. But I did, and not just racing through to “check it off”, you know? I don’t have as much wisdom as some of you girls do sometimes, but I’m leaning on you, sisters, to spell things out for me, when I don’t “see”. Jon’s back is a little better today. (See last nite’s late post.) Keep praying… when he has a steroid injection tomorrow, it should really help!
