Weekly Truth

Open Your Bible

2 Timothy 3:16-17

Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the good news of Jesus with us wherever we go.

Let’s commit Paul’s words on the value of Scripture to memory. Read these two verses out loud a few times. What part of this passage stands out most to you after spending these last several days opening your Bibles together?

All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
—2 Timothy 3:16–17

You may have a different capacity for memorizing, but that does not make you any less of a servant than those around you.

I have such a hard time memorizing scripture. Due to last trauma my brains memory doesn’t function to it’s fullest capability. It’s frustrating and breaks my heart. How do I be a good servant and stand in the word if I can’t remember it to refer back to it?

Gods word equips me to do His Holy work; to teach and encourage others to also be equipped, to fight the enemy in spiritual warfare and have Gods word to back it up, to correct myself when I may not be aligned to His heart. The Lord is continuously guiding us through His word, it is the least we can do to speak it out in Truth and into our own lives ♥️

God’s Word is on purpose for a purpose. It’s meant to guide us to do His will, His perfect plans.

The Word of God truly is the ultimate tool for us. We can turn back to His Word to know Him deeply in order to hear from Him more readily and in turn, we receive so much from it because we walk alongside Him with ease, comfort and confidence because we read His word for His Glory.
