Psalm 46:10

Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the gospel with us wherever we go.

This week we will memorize a verse that expresses God’s heart for his people to rest in His sovereignty.

“Be still, and know that I am God.”
—Psalm 46:10 ESV

Thankful that he alone can dismiss any anxiety any fear that tries to creep in and can ultimately steal our joy. I love the phrase “ rest in his sovereignty”. He knows, he hears, he sees, he goes before us, he comforts, he is peace. And all we need to do is to sit and allow him to be!

When anxiety starts to creep in I really need to remember this verse more often. Thankfully I am in a much healthier environment and it’s been easier to, Be Still.

About two weeks ago I had a beautiful moment of enlightenment. It was early morning and the sun was shining it’s rays through my window. I could see all the particles of dust that fly through the air but that we don’t usually see unless the right type of light hits it at the right type of angle. I realized revelation is like that for me. It is there, it is very faint, it shines when I take the time to slow down and notice. When God shines His light at the right time we can understand or receive promptings throughout our day. This requires stillness. Going back to the dust in the air it always goes unnoticed because it is invisible to the human eye. Who usually notices the millions of cells, pollen and dirt that make up dust. It reminds me of Psalm 46:10 “ Be still and know that I am God”

I love this! Thank you for sharing. I especially love the part where you said, “It requires stillness.” I’m going to picture this in my mind as I go about my day, and I pray the Lord uses it to remind me of the importance of stillness and just sitting in his presence.

Stillness can be the hardest thing. I’ve fought it my whole life! Only recently have I embraced the beauty of stillness, knowing that God goes before me and will provide for my needs.

My activity often stems from fear of the unknown, desire for control, and pride. But if I abide in Him, these are no longer my concerns.
