Nehemiah 2:17

Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the gospel with us wherever we go.

This week we will memorize the key verse for the book of Nehemiah.

So I said to them, “You see the trouble we are in. Jerusalem lies in ruins and its gates have been burned. Come, let’s rebuild Jerusalem’s wall, so that we will no longer be a disgrace.”
—Nehemiah 2:17

There is certainly a time to stay and rebuild. And there are other times when one has to pull up stakes and move on. Build anew. Fresh start. Leaving the ruins behind. I’m thinking of the many in the Scriptures who were called out. Abraham. Moses. Peter. Paul. Praying for discernment for all of us who are seeking God’s will in regards to rebuilding in the ruins or building anew elsewhere. Remembering His Words “Come, follow Me.” Wherever. Here. There. “Thy will be done.”

    1. Sarah says:

Even moving forward to a fresh start requires sorting through a rubble pile and rebuilding where one has been knocked down in spirit or strength. Either way, Jesus is the Way and provides the strength and courage and hope.
I pray for all who face the challenge.
