Day 14

Weekly Truth

from the The Miracles of Jesus reading plan

Psalm 77:14

BY She Reads Truth

Memorizing Scripture is one of the best ways to carry God-breathed truth, instruction, and reproof wherever we go.

As we study the miracles of Jesus, we remember that He fulfilled the prophecies of the Old Testament, displaying His divinity in mighty and merciful ways.

You are the God who works wonders; You have made known Your strength among the peoples.
– Psalm 77:14 NASB

Write this passage down and post it on your mirror or at your desk, in your car or on the fridge—anywhere you’ll see it often. Save the image below as your phone’s lock screen so you can read these words of truth throughout the day.

We want to be a community that is intentional about Scripture memorization. Will you join us?

I looked up Matthew Henry’s commentary on this Psalm, and I wanted to share it with all you gals:

“Days of trouble must be days of prayer; when God seems to have withdrawn from us, we must seek him till we find him. In the day of his trouble the psalmist did not seek for the diversion of business or amusement, but he sought God, and his favor and grace. Those that are under trouble of mind, must pray it away. He pored upon the trouble; the methods that should have relieved him did but increase his grief. When he remembered God, it was only the Divine justice and wrath. His spirit was overwhelmed, and sank under the load. But let not the remembrance of the comforts we have lost, make us unthankful for those that are left…
The remembrance of the works of God, will be a powerful remedy against distrust of his promise and goodness; for he is God, and changes not.”

I could really use some prayers from my fellow shes today. My husband’s Mom passed away in the early hours this morning on the East Coast and we got the call just after midnight on the West Coast, today, my husband’s birthday. He also lost hid Dad just almost 8 months ago and my brother took a nasty fall on Friday and is in the hospital. I’m in my busy season at work and we are both sick with whatever nasty respiratory virus/bug is going around (week 7 for me. ). I’m tired and having a hard seeing the miracles in all this pain. Please pray for us for strength, peace and wisdom. Thank you this community of prayer warriors to whom I can come to in the middle of the night and with whom share our needs.

Praying for you precious one: Father God, I lift Liz and her family up to you now. I pray healing for her and her husband and that you would raise up someone at her work that could take some of the load from her. I pray healing for her brother in the hospital. Then I pray that you would give her clarity and wisdom as she moves forward. Give her the strength she needs to walk this journey. As she turns this all over to you, may she feel your overwhelming embrace and be filled with the peace that passes all understanding. In Jesus name, amen. Thank you for sharing with us, Liz. Sending you much love!

Although Mom’s healing wasn’t here on earth, we know she is fully healed with her savior and I like to think reunited with the love of her life. Thank you all for this wonderful community.
