Memorizing Scripture is one of the best ways to carry God-breathed truth, instruction, and reproof wherever we go.
In our Lenten study of Isaiah, we are memorizing Scripture about God’s calling, judgment, and restoration of His people. This week’s passage is the key verse for the book of Isaiah.
Now this is what the Lord says—
the One who created you, Jacob,
and the One who formed you, Israel—
“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by your name; you are Mine.”
– Isaiah 43:1
Write this passage down and post it on your mirror or at your desk, in your car or on the fridge—anywhere you’ll see it often. Save the image below as your phone’s lock screen so you can read these words of truth throughout the day.
We want to be a community that is intentional about Scripture memorization. Will you join us?

Praise the LORD
Dearest called us by His name to return Him because He love us. His mercy flows like unending flowing river
God Bless you
I love this verse!! Thanks for sharing!
HE knows my name and I am His! This brings me comfort and Joy. Good morning SRT ladies prayed for you all. Enjoy your Sunday at your places of worship. Shh… going on a short run to enjoy this gorgeous morning the Lord blessed me with before waking up the family for church. Love this time just my Jesus and I.
The word “redeemed” jumped out at me as I read this verse. Something I’ve started doing during my study time is looking up the Hebrew or Greek translation of verses to see the original meaning or context of a word. In this case, “redeemed” is used in the context of being brought out of exile. Immediately, the Holy Spirit whispered Ephesians 2:13 to my heart. When I turned to the verse in my Bible I noticed verse 12 fit in with that context too.
“12 remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. 13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.” – Ephesians 2:12-13
Separate. Excluded. Foreigners. Without hope. Without God.
All of those words and phrases in verse 12 make my heart hurt. But thank God that it doesn’t end there. Verse 13 fills my heart with joy: BUT NOW… He has brought us near! Only the blood of Christ could do that!
I am singing Power to Redeem by Lauren Daigle for my church’s Easter service. Our theme this year is “the blood of Jesus.” I think God just led me to the perfect verse to read before I sing. Thank you, Lord!
Beautiful connection! Thanks for sharing and deepening my appreciation of this verse!
Redeemed. ❤
Wanted to add that I’m so appreciative of the beautiful illustrations in the study guide. The one for today, “To the Stillness” is especially pretty. Calming. Your artwork, Emily Jeffords, blesses me. Thank you SRT for including it.
Holding tight to the Lord’s admonition “Do not fear…”. And “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Praying for His strength as I walk through the scary. Holding on to His hand and trusting in His Words “You are mine.”
Focusing on the verbs in order: CREATED, FORMED, REDEEMED, CALLED by My Name…and the name changes: JACOB (deceiver), ISRAEL (struggles with God, God prevails), MINE (called by My Name). The order and name changes really spoke to me this morning. I look forward to one day hearing Him say of me, “She is Mine.”
Amen.
Loved this! Thanks for pointing this out.
So good! Thank you for pointing that out!
I needed this reminder as I go to bed tonight…and prayers, too
Just prayed for you. Claire. Praying you sleep well and know YOU are HIS.
Good morning all! Most of you are still sleeping. I am sitting on my rooftop terrace, enjoying the morning sun here in the Netherlands.
I just want to say thanks for the lock screen designs. I look forward to the next one each week! They are great!
Have a blessed Sunday everyone! ❤
