Day 7

Weekly Truth

from the The Beatitudes reading plan

Matthew 5:3-6

BY She Reads Truth

Memorizing Scripture is one of the best ways to carry God-breathed truth, instruction, and reproof wherever we go.  This week, we’re memorizing the first four beatitudes (and next week we’ll memorize the last four!).

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
—Matthew 5:3-6

Write this passage down and post it on your mirror or at your desk, in your car or on the fridge—anywhere you’ll see it often. Save the image below as your phone’s lock screen so you can read these words of truth throughout the day.

We want to be a community that is intentional about Scripture memorization. Will you join us?

    “Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted.” Praying for Israel this morning and for all those who lost someone in this newly declared war, may they be comforted by the God of all comfort. Also praying for all those in Israel who are still seeking a Messiah when He has already come. May they know the true God, the one God, the only God. May their eyes be opened and may they call upon the name of the Lord to rescue them – once more. Isaiah 44:6-8, “you are my witnesses…there is no other Rock…”

    Have a blessed Lord’s day my sweet sisters – off now to get ready for worship! Prayers for each of you!

    Blessed Sunday, sweet sisters!

  3. Dawn Prenatt says:

    Happy Sunday! Have a beautiful day ladies!
    This study has been opening my eyes and heart to so much ❤️ grateful we’re here.

  4. Searching says:

    Love the emphasis on trust and God’s faithfulness yesterday (thanks for Jeremiah passage, CEE GEE), and was reminded of the hymn Trust and Obey by John H Sammis, 1887 (may have been brought up in KELLY (NEO)’s favorites challenge in hymns study?). In the 4th verse, “until ALL on the altar we lay” (emphasis mine). Seems like I can sometimes give it all (mostly?) to Him, the issue is leaving it with Him instead of taking it back to worry and fret over some more. End of verse 5, “Never fear, only trust and obey” …

    Praying for Israel.

    Praying for LINDAK and RHONDA J (sorry about name typo yesterday!) for relief of pain.

    LYNNE FROM AL, LINDA IN NC and NANCY S – praying for each of you and your husbands.

    When we walk with the Lord
    In the light of His Word,
    What a glory He sheds on our way;
    While we do His good will,
    He abides with us still,
    And with all who will trust and obey.

    Refrain (after each verse):
    Trust and obey,
    For there’s no other way
    To be happy in Jesus,
    But to trust and obey.

    2
    Not a shadow can rise,
    Not a cloud in the skies,
    But His smile quickly drives it away;
    Not a doubt or a fear,
    Not a sigh or a tear,
    Can abide while we trust and obey.
    3
    Not a burden we bear,
    Not a sorrow we share,
    But our toil He doth richly repay;
    Not a grief or a loss,
    Not a frown or a cross,
    But is blest if we trust and obey.
    4
    But we never can prove
    The delights of His love,
    Until all on the altar we lay;
    For the favor He shows,
    And the joy He bestows,
    Are for them who will trust and obey.
    5
    Then in fellowship sweet
    We will sit at His feet,
    Or we’ll walk by His side in the way;
    What He says we will do;
    Where He sends, we will go,
    Never fear, only trust and obey.
