Psalm 148:1

Memorizing Scripture is one of the best ways to carry God-breathed truth, instruction, and reproof wherever we go.  This week, we’re memorizing the key verse for this reading plan:

Hallelujah!
Praise the Lord from the heavens;
praise Him in the heights.
—Psalm 148:1

Write this verse down and post it on your mirror or at your desk, in your car or on the fridge—anywhere you’ll see it often. Save the image below as your phone’s lock screen so you can read these words of truth throughout the day.

We want to be a community that is intentional about Scripture memorization. Will you join us?

I just read yesterday’s challenge and all the backstories and lyrics to your favorite hymns, and added one of my own. It was like a revival in my living room!
My family on my dad’s side had a reunion yesterday. My aunt (dad’s sister) is the only one of ten siblings left. It was such a blessing to see lots of cousins and their children and grandchildren. Thank you for family, God. It is a gift from you.

Good Morning/afternoon now!! We are at church for such a long time! We had lots of excitement today with groups starting, and baptisms (hallelujah!) and all! But thank you @Kelly Neo for posting that Psalm- those words really had such meaning after experiencing that in community worship this morning!

@AZ Walker- Thank you for reminding me of Blessed Assurance!! Also a favorite of our church and it was my moms favorite so we sang it at her funeral.

Right now the song Holy Forever by Chris Tomlin is on. (There is also a great version by Jen Johnson which I favor!) But I love it! I love all music basically that worships our Lord! We sang two songs today at church from Elevation Worship that we sing at prison ministries that are good ones- “More Than Able” and “Praise!”

Hope each of you have a blessed Sunday!

I love so many of the favorites posted so far. I also love Blessed Assurance written in 1873 by Frances J. Crosby. When it’s sung in a traditional service (I don’t attend those too often), but I sing it all day long!

    Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!
Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.
    Refrain:
This is my story, this is my song,
    Praising my Savior all the day long;
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.
    Perfect submission, perfect delight,
    Visions of rapture now burst on my sight;
    Angels, descending, bring from above
Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.
Perfect submission, all is at rest,
I in my Savior am happy and blest,
    Watching and waiting, looking above,
Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.

    Praying for your requests.

v3 “Praise him sun and moon; Praise him, all shining stars” Two nights ago, I was driving on a busy road, when I noticed the sun was huge, bright orange, just huge. So BEAUTIFUL! Carefully, I pulled out my phone outside my window and took a picture. and I said, “thank you Jesus.” The driver next to me looked over and just smiled. There’s just something about the sun and the moon and the stars that are just breathtaking. Both my kids love taking pictures outside of the sun, the moon, the sky. God is so good to have given us, something beautiful for his children to look at. Happy Sunday sweet She’s. I’m out on my front porch enjoying the cool brisk morning and the sun is up. And I can smell the aroma of my cinnamon rolls baking for my family. I don’t make them too often as they’re time consuming, but prepping the night before makes it faster in the morning.
My voice isn’t completely back, but definitely much better. and I watched our service online, last night. The time couldn’t have been better. We’re going through the Lord’s, prayer piece by piece. Last night it was on Provision. And I had just asked my two good friends to pray as I have two major expenses and I’m waiting for some monies to come in to help me pay for them. And I was overjoyed to hear the service last night. I know it’s Jesus letting me know he’s got me.

  6. Cee Gee says:

Psalm 148:5-6 Let them praise the name of the Lord: for he commanded, and they were created.

6 He hath also stablished them for ever and ever: he hath made a decree which shall not pass.
This passage reminds me of a hymn I always enjoy singing:

Praise him, praise him, Jesus our blessed redeemer!
Sing, O earth, his wonderful love proclaim!
Hail him, hail him! Highest archangels in glory!
Strength and honor give to his holy name!
Like a shepherd, Jesus will guard his children.
In his arms he carries them all day long.
    Refrain:
Praise him! Praise him! tell of his excellent greatness.
Praise him! Praise him! ever in joyful song.

2 Praise him, praise him! Jesus, our blessed redeemer!
For our sins, he suffered, and bled, and died.
He our rock, our hope of eternal salvation,
hail him, hail him! Jesus, the crucified.
Sound his praises, Jesus who bore our sorrows,
love unbounded, wonderful, deep, and strong.
    [Refrain]

3 Praise him, praise him! Jesus, our blessed redeemer!
Heav’nly portals loud with hosannas ring!
Jesus, Savior, reigneth forever and ever!
Crown him, crown him! prophet, and priest, and king!

Christ is coming, over the world victorious.
Pow’r and glory unto the Lord belong.

    [Refrain]
