Text: Acts 8:26-40, 2 Peter 1:16-21
It is impossible to overstate our need for a Savior.
During Lent, Christians traditionally meditate on Scriptures that point us to the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. When we see our desperate need for salvation through the lens of a cross and an empty tomb, we are reminded that nothing we cling to for security outside of Christ Himself can offer us any real or lasting hope.
Isaiah’s original audience, in the 8th century BC, was made up of people in the process of losing their homeland. They wondered what God’s solution would be, and if He even had one. Isaiah was written during a season of cultural and political unrest in Judah. Their good and steady king, Uzziah, died just as the opposing armies of Assyria chose Judah as their next nation to conquer. As the people of Judah waited and worried, Assyria subdued them and carried them off into exile.
Whatever hope God’s people had put in their homeland was gone. All they had left to appeal to was the God of their fathers. All they could hope for was that God would intervene and save them. Lent reminds us that this salvation is all any of us can hope for, even as this season declares that Hope has come.
One of the most profound and beautiful qualities of Isaiah is how filled it is with references to the coming Savior of the world. Isaiah, more than any other book in the Old Testament, describes the coming of Christ in great detail. This prophet tells us about the One born of a virgin, on whom the Lord would lay the iniquity of us all. This Suffering Servant would be our Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace, and by His wounds we shall be healed. He has called us by name; we are His (Isaiah 43:1).
During this Lent study, we will make our way through the message of restoration in the book of Isaiah. During the final week, we will also read Scripture passages from the Gospels that correspond with the events of Holy Week. Through Isaiah we will look ahead to the Savior, and through the Gospels we will look back on the salvation that is given to us in Jesus.
May your time in Isaiah cause you to worship the risen Christ.

Although it is not currently lent, I am excited to dive into Isaiah and see the connection between Old Testament and Christ
Isaiah is one of the looming monuments of the Old Testament that I have not been able to bring myself to study in full. I look forward to getting back into the habit of studying the Word regularly and being ministered to by Isaiah.
Excited to repeat this devotion for this Season of Lent. Shared it with friends.
I’m so excited to share this study with my daughter as we enter lent!
Hello ladies! Believe this or not but I just separated from my ex of 6 years a couple of days ago. After praying to God to help me go through this, i come across this app. I think timing is amazing with God. 50 Days from now is Jan 2. I never imagined ending and starting my year with the Lord. I accepted God about 2-3 years ago but sadly I drifted away as time passed. Now that I have time to focus and me and God’s relationship, I think wow. This strength I have in me is incredible. Praise God.
When is our next study?
Hi! The next study is “The Miracles of Jesus” and begins on April 17!
-Stormye
Just started this devotion, although I have been independently reading for months. Would love some prayers sent, as I am going through some difficult times with my children, and approaching an ugly court battle with my ex.
I’m sorry Kristen, will definitely keep you in my prayers.
Absolutely praying for you, Kristen. So grateful to have you reading with us and in this community.
– Stormye
I am so sorry to hear that Kristen. I will pray for u

This is So nice
I’m joining late as well. But this is wonderful!
God is so kind dispite who we are inside I’m talking bout myself I’m greatful that God can see all that’s filthy inside of me and still loves on me and desire to clean me up and make me whiter then snow, Lord knows I need it and some. Truths of Jesus
I’m joining this study late as well, I love the book of Isaiah. God bless you and your ministry @shereadstruth. #lovejesus
Thank you so much @ Andi and yes I am looking for groups because I know i can’t do it by myself
I was wondering if anyone had scriptures in mind that I can read where as I’m turning 20 on this Thursday and I really want to be closer to God but I feel like he has giving up on me because I don’t come to him instead I feed into Satan hisself and I know I shouldn’t I’m just very lost in my faith not sure where to turn ..
Hundreds of scriptures talk about how amazing our God is.
For the next few weeks, focus on this thought: God loves you with a love that is unimaginable and unending. There is nothing you can do to make Him stop loving you! I have a dark past but I asked Him to forgive and He did immediately! We all fall short of perfection. All you have to do is say “Father, I love you. Thank you for loving me in all things, no matter what I may do. Please forgive me and help me to be more like Jesus.”
As you start to talk more and more to Him and your relationship grows, the easier it gets to say no to temptation. Satan will try his best to keep you from the amazing life God has for you but he is defeated and has no place in your life. Speak it out against him! He is forever subject to the name of Jesus Christ!
Treniece, try to find a local church that has small groups or some type of bible study. The relationships I make during the week at my small groups are the ones that help me along the journey
Prov 3: 5&6 Trust in the Lord with all of your heart, lean not on your own understanding. In all of your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path.
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you a hope and a future.
Thank you @Shawn those were really helpful
Treniece, it took me a very long time to forgive myself for the sins I had committed, and commit everyday. We can never comprehend the love God has for us, it is unfailing, timeless, and so pure. You are loved, and you are forgiven. Repentance can be a truly beautiful act and don’t be ashamed to embrace your past mistakes, instead, thank God for bringing you to where you are today and loving you in spite of them. God knows your heart, all you have to do is call on Him. Acts 3:19 Turn to God so that your sins may be wiped away, so that times of refreshing may come to the Lord.
Thank you so much Shelby
I’m new as well hoping to gain a lot from this
Nothing but the blood of Jesus!
I am very late in joining because I just found this; nevertheless, I am excited!
me too Heather! Getting caught up tonight! May God bless us during this very special time where we meet Him in His word!
There has been a lot of changes going on in my life lately (all really good…getting married, moving) and I really feel like something or someone (Satan) is trying to steal my joy, make me unsettled and anxious about life. I know I need to draw closer to God as He’s the only one who can restore that joy and peace to my life. He’s my comfort. But I’m having a very hard time. Never can I remember being this nervous, upset, worried, etc. to where I feel like there’s impending doom just waiting to be dropped on me. I’m hopeful this daily devotional guide will help me remember each day to pause, read the truth of scripture and pray. I’m believing (or trying really hard to) that by Easter, this war on my mind and heart will be settled and I’ll have victory in Jesus!!!
Praying for you, Jen! Times of change are always hard – we tend to need and like our routines! Asking the Lord for you to get to a place where He is in your routine daily and that you can be reminded of your joy in Him each day!
– Stormye
I know we don’t know each other but I urge you to consider the source of your anxiety–are you doubting your decision in your future spouse? Worth pausing & begging Jesus for direction & solid counsel from others. Is it just anxiety related to details surrounding the planning burden ? That is a whole other type of anxiety. One has lifelong ripples–the other you’ll forget in a matter of time.
I loved reading the word this morning. I am in a hard season and the Word lifts my soul.
I am in Liberia, West Africa and have been looking for a devotional app to help me strengthen my relays with my Savior. Thank you so much for this app.

Heather – welcome! We are so grateful to have you studying with us this Lenten season!
– Stormye
I just joined so hi ladies!
I’m catching up, part of my #LentGoals is to create the positive habit of getting more into the Word daily in a devotional setting. When you go to school for Biblical Stuides and work in a church, it seems tedious to go to the Word. but I’m really excited to use SheReadsTruth to change that!
Dana, we are so grateful to have you! Welcome!
– Stormye
Just downloaded the app, and as I opened it I knew from the start this was gonna be awesome for me!!! Thank you so much!

Yesss
From the nation’s breadbasket the San Joaquin Valley California. I just noticed 2 Peter 1:19 “until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts” The morning star is a name for the Holy Spirit that I don’t hear much in today’s preaching & teaching. Isn’t it fantastic that He dwells in us !!!!
Yes Jesus is the Son of God and I am glad to be his child a child of the Most High GOD
Man it feels good to be known and to be His. “But now, this is what the Lord says— he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.”
Isaiah 43:1 NIV
I’ve received the book for the Lent 2017 study. Does the app provide anything to go along with that? Or is it just the same thing as the book?
Hi Amy! Great question. The book has the Scripture printed and has recipes as well as a few other illustrations that are not available online or on the app. All of our daily readings are located either for free on our website (you can even subscribe!) or for a small fee on the app. I hope this helps! We are glad to have you studying God’s Word with us!
Am excited about this Lenten season more than I’ve ever been
do you know of there will be any more books to purchase? store says sold out!
Hopful
joining late
Me too!
Welcome! We’re so grateful to study God’s Word with you!
I dont get this app? So it isnt free? Wer every day u get the scripture of the day?
Hi! All of our daily readings are available for free on our website, SheReadsTruth.com. You can either use the app or join us there. Whichever you choose, we’re glad to have you!
Can we buy the app lent study still?
Yes, Rena! It will just load all the days you’ve missed so far…
Never mind. I just read the fine print of the Lent 2017 book. Smh. At the very end is where they tell you it’s just scripture. It’s beautiful but I def wouldn’t have bought it since I already have a Bible. I’m sure it’s really helpful for someone else tho. Maybe next time they can include the app plan with the purchase of the matching book. Just an idea.
I hear you Vanessa! I bought the John study book and was supprised that I then would have to purchase the app study to get the actual study! They are beautiful books, but I saved the $30 and just bought the app study this time!
You don’t need to buy the app. You can just read it from the website for free. https://shereadstruth.com/2017/02/27/we-are-his-a-lenten-introduction/
Can someone help me out? Am I missing something? I bought the Lent 2017 study book- but it only has the Bible readings and a couple of hymns and recipes. But the readings like on the app aren’t there and there are no study questions. Now I’m stuck having to buy the plan on the app- which is the main part I wanted out of the book: the stuff these awesome ladies write. Sigh
You can read the daily study free through the website! Shereadstruth.com
“What treasure waits within Your scars
This gift of freedom gold can’t buy
I bought the world and sold my heart
You traded heaven to have me again”

Love this song! And so very fitting for Lent.
I’ve been playing this song on repeat ❤️
This is my first study with SRT. I have a few friends that recommended this app and I am looking forward to having a daily devotional/study to deepen my walk with the Lord.
Never studied Isaiah before and ready to dive in during Lent. Excited to open this app in place of Instagram.. Where I end up comparing myself to other mothers and feeling less than. I know this is where I need to turn instead!
I, too, just gave up IG! Not really for Lent but the timing fits.
Never participated in Lent…this will be a challenge & a blessing both.
Sonia, we’re grateful to get to study the Word of God with you in this Lenten season! Glad to have you as a part of the SRT Community!
This is my first time too.
Excited to study Isaiah during this season with all of you! Have never studied Isaiah before.
I am blessed to go through Lent with y’all. Never have before and with be an honor to.. Change me JESUS my hope is in You only!
Just joined, found this app while looking for a Lenten devotional. Looking forward to what God has to say and hoping for once I can stay still enough to listen!
Tiffanie – we are so grateful you are joining us! Welcome!
I am excited to begin this journey of the study of Lent with you all! My husband and I will be doing this together and bringing our kids along when time allows. I can’t wait to dig into this study with you all!
We are glad you are joining us too, Crystal! What a beautiful ministry you have in your family! Praying that the Lord uses this season of Lent to grow your family closer and closer to Him!
Good morning SRT community! Praying for each one of you this morning, that this Lenten season and study will turn us towards the Lord and prepare us to receive his grace and mercy. I would like to fast from something for this season but haven’t decided what to give up yet! Thanks for the ideas you’ve all written in your comments.
This is the first SRT study that I am participating in and I am so excited! I have found myself desiring to know God better, to be drawn in closer to Him and really understand what it is to lead a Christ-centered life. I’m looking forward to refocusing my life on Him.
Emily, welcome!! We are so glad you are here studying the Word of God with us!
Isaiah 43:1
Israel’s Only Savior
43 But now thus says the Lord,
mhe who created you, O Jacob,
he who formed you, O Israel:
n“Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
oI have called you by name, you are mine.
This is a beautiful topic and so appropriate.
I have heard of Lent by people focusing on giving up something tangible. I have never observed Lent. This season I’m focusing on the scriptures for Lent to have a true understanding for it. Thank-you for the guide and reading plan.
Thank you for such a comprehensive and beautiful introduction to the study.
I just discovered SRT. I have never studied Isaiah. I’m excited.
What an awesome start! So unique to study Isaiah for Lent.
I’ve never studied Isaiah … looking forward to it!
Me either. This should be great reading and learning for us all.
This is my first time with SRT. Excited!
amen
I am excited to enter into this season with this devotional on Isaiah. Full of anticipation.
This is my first time with She Reads Truth. I actually come across the app by looking for daily devotionals and quotes on my phone. I’m looking to build a closer relationship with God, to renew my spirit and to grown as a woman and individual. This seems to be an easy read and I appreciate the excerpts that are written after the scripture so that it gives not only a breakdown of the scriptures, but shows us simply how we can apply this to our everyday life. So far so good! :)
Welcome! I just started at the beginning of this year and it has been a blessing. Happy reading and learning!
This is my first SRT study. I first heard about it from an Annie Downs Instagram post. I am excited to learn what the Lord has to say to me through this season. In just Day 1 feel my spirit stir as several passages emphasize things I have been thinking and praying about
Perfect! I was looking for another book to study this month for my journaling!
I love book of Isaiah
My thoughts? Yes, great to start off with the book of Isaiah. I enjoy the book.
Looking forward to studying the book of Isaiah with everyone!!!
Amen. What a wonderful first day of reflection for the first day of Lent
I am looking forward to these readings during this Lent. Thank you p
Was looking for something to help keep me focused during this lent period, I’m glad God let me find this app!
Is this going to go past 3 days? It says 49 days. I’m confused.
Hi Mercedes! It is one day at a time. We are on Day 3 today, the first day one Lent. Days 1&2 are to introduce the study. So every day, a new day will be added. Hope that helps!
Hi Mercedes! Its a 49 day study in totality but goes day by day. We are glad you’re joining us!
Playing catch up on my readings during Lunch at work
Is TODAY (march 1) day 1??? I noticed that day 3 is up as well?? So confused!
Hi Jenny- days 1&2 were introductions to the study. Enjoy!!
Hi Jenny! We had two days of introduction to Lent before jumping into Isaiah. This is the first day of Lent, but not the first day of our study! We’re glad you’re joining us!
Excited to start this to supplement my other Catholic meditations and readings for Lent! Heard of you via Emily Jeffords.
Oh I feel so much grace for this lent season. What a place to be when you can only appeal to the God of your fathers since nothing in the natural seems stable or comforting. The days seems similar.
Thank you for this lent study. Excited to dive in deeper.
I was struck by the similarities of the time BC that their country was without a good leader. It is like we are living in those days again, but this time we have the hope of our Prince of Peace.
Thank you for this!! So looking forward to getting into this study and the word!
May we also, as a country, reach out to the Living God for direction, peace and unity
Yes and Amen!
Beautiful start to this study. I’m eager to dive in for this season of Lent.
I’ve never done a Lent devotional. Looking forward to doing this one with SRT. So thankful for those whom God has laid on their hearts to write.
I’ve never heard of She Reads Truth so I am excited to get involved and receive the nourishment I’ve been missing and need.
Welcome to She Reads Truth! We are so glad to have you studying God’s Word with us!
Great reminder that these words don’t just apply to the wayward Israel, but to our own “prone to wander” hearts too.
Looking forward to getting stuck back into a SRT reading plan – it’s been a while!
Welcome back! We’re glad to have you studying with us.
Did you mean that Assyria carried off Israel? While Judah was concerned about Assyria, Assyria actually carried off Israel not Judah (2 Kings 17:23). (The Lord saved Judah in part because of Hezekiah’s prayer. 2 Kings 19:20, 32) Babylon carried off Judah.
Looking forward to this study! Part of my Lenten resolution this year
I wondered that myself just from their woRiding.
The painting is the background is from my very talented sister Emily. You can find more of her inspirational work that showcases her beautiful representation of Gods handiwork at emilyjeffords.com //
Looking forward to digging into God’s word and pounding Lent with this SRT community of women!
Sometimes we get caught up in our own sufferings and forget that Jesus took on the ultimate suffering for US. Through our suffering we only get a glimpse of what He endured. This study will be so great to be reminded of this every day.
Wow, this is so true, and I really needed to hear this. Thank you for sharing
This study has come in such a perfect time. As I face some tragedies in my life I am being reminded that nothing compares to salvation & that the pain that Jesus suffered on the cross was enough for me. He sees, He knows, He cares.
Very well said..I can relate.
I feel the same way! God somehow has a way of bringing us exactly what we need when we need it. It’s pretty incredible!
Excited for this study !!!!
I am so blessed and thankful to be going through this lesson with such amazing and loving women.
..we are reminded that nothing we cling to for security outside of Christ Himself can offer us any real or lasting hope. ❤
Thank you for doing a study at LENT, I have been a Christian for over a decade, but haven’t really ponded on Lent even though like a faithful believer and gave something up to pray and reflect but this year, just reading the intro it stirring up hope and so much thankfulness!
Thank you SRT Team !!
I feel so impassioned when I read this and think of God giving us His only son to die for all our sins, past, present, AND future! Our God is a mighty God filled with so much love for us we could never wrap our minds around it!
I had just started reading Isaiah and was struggling with all of the judgement it has been talking about and then I found out that the Lent study was going to be on it! I’m so excited to have this as a tool to help me better understand what God is wanting us to get from Isaiah!
It’s been one of the roughest months I’ve had in a while, and as I’ve struggled with questions to God and anger and sadness, but no matter what I always find myself drawn back here, back to my Bible, back to worship, and back to the foot of the Cross. I’ve never truly observed Lent, and I’m excited to be going through this study with you all in this season of my life. I need something to bring me closer to God, and I have a feeling this study is going to be a huge part of it. Lord let us grow closer to you each day as we remember your great love for us. Help us to be reminded of this and to feel your presence throughout our day. May your will be done in our lives.
Praying for you on this journey!
I am currently going through a really tough season. My husband and I are battling infertility and we are at the end of an IVF cycle. Waiting for confirmation that it succeeded. And I am anxious. Afraid. And I am letting fear command me. Instead of his promises and what he says about me. Isaiah is such a book of hope. A book rooted and grounded in love. Loss comes first. But then hope arises in the end. Speaking of a time to come when loss will fade. I pray this study will be one of restoration for me. Restorative of my hope. My identity. My joy and strength in the Lord.
Praying for you Lindsay! That God’s peace would comfort you beyond any understanding!
Lindsay, thank you for sharing, sister. I’m grateful that we have the chance to study Isaiah together in this season and for the restorative power of His Word. Grateful for you.
I asked God to give you hope and joy during this season, Lindsay.
This is my first study with SRT that is active /happening at the time I’m studying along. It’s also the first time I am observing lent. Looking forward to digging deeper and renewing my understanding of my desperate need for my savior!!
Karen, we are grateful to have you studying along with us! Welcome to the Lent study and She Reads Truth!
I love lent. I was raised catholic and as I got into collage I wanted a deeper connection to God. Not just a bunch of traditions so I became a Christian. However my catholic upbringing did help me understand the importance of lent. The preparation of Jesus dying for our sins. The pause in our year to reflect on him. Needless to say I am very excited about this study!!
I’m actually in the same situation! Lent is such an important time of year!
I’ve heard of Lent from Catholic friends but never really thought about what it meant or its purpose other than you give up something. A couple of months ago I felt led to study the book of Isaiah and the very next day I discovered that SRT would be studying Isaiah for Lent! I am so excited about this study and observing the Lenten season for the first time. God, I pray that each one of us here will surrender ourselves fully and completely to Your will. We are Yours.
Carrie, this is my first observance of Lent, also. I, too, am desiring a deeper surrender to the Father and His transforming work in me. Be blessed!
Here from Salem, OR. Excited for this study! Never joined a study that was active on here yet. Looking forward to reflecting on all that Jesus has done!
New study! “You are Mine” (Isaiah) ~ the intro yesterday caught my attention for a few reasons… I was just reading through I John this weekend when he says much the same thing that Peter says here… “these are not cunningly devised myths, not prophesies of man’s design, but revelations from God, what they have seen, heard, touched, handled – we are eye witnesses!” How thrilling to think that God reveals Himself to us in very real ways too, so that we are also His witnesses! (We don’t make this up, it is the reality of God in our own life that we can tell others!) … the intro comments then explain that Isaiah was writing to God’s people who were losing their land, the promised land, that they only had God to hold on to and to reach for, and that much of Isaiah is about the promised Messiah, the Savior. Even though Israel lost their land because of disobedience, it was still mercy that God allowed them to hold that reality in all its harshness so they were in a position to grasp the greater promise of a coming Savior! Land was a big deal to them, but God wanted them to see that the story was so much bigger and their need was so much greater and far more eternal!!! They needed a Savior and He was coming! We needed a Savior and He has come!!! Now they and we can all look forward to a land and a city whose builder and foundation is not man, but God alone… Hallelujah!!! <3
Hello here from the UK. I’m also studying this in my small group but excited for this study too.
Only you lord! You are ALL we need!
My first Lent study. Praying to be touched by His love.
Good morning from the UK ! This is the first SRT study Iv done actually when it’s been released, looking forward to learning with you all! Have a blessed day!
SRT Girls shared on a podcast this week: “Only when we understand the depth of our sin can we understand the depth of his grace.”
Looking forward to this season and the opportunity to dive deep into God’s work in my life.
Praying for this community!!
Where can I find the podcast ?
I would also appreciate information on the podcast! Thanks!!
Hi Hannah! The podcast was by Annie Downs and can be found here: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/that-sounds-fun-with-annie-f-downs/id944925529?mt=2
This is my very first Lent study, despite being solid in my faith for almost four years. I’m excited to do it with a few other girls in my small group, as well as all of you! I am truely blessed to be able to take another step futher into my faith and continue to radically glorify the Lord!
I have gone through many She Reads Truth studies. I have loved them all and have just finished Song of Songs. I am thankful I can read truth here and grow closer to my Lord with each study.
Very excited to start this study!
I’m so excited to not only be doing this study with my two best friends but also walk along side my husband as he does this study with his two best friends. Three married couples who are all searching for intimacy within our marriages and most importantly with God. I pray that through this study we will begin to pray for each other more diligently, communicate with more patience, and reach for His word daily with eagerness!
I am really hoping to connect with my husband on a deeper level spiritually by quietly suggesting the he reads truth counterpart and praying that the Holy Spirit will break down walls and work on his hard heart.
I will say a prayer for you as I begin to pray for the same thing.
I also pray that my husband will reach for this study and that we will be able to connect on a new level through intimacy with God and each other.
Praying for your husband this morning Jen!
This is my first Lent study and I’m super excited to be doing it with you guys!
Hope has come!
So excited to experience this community as we start this study. Loved the line about “a lamp shining in a dismal place.” Our world today can feel like a dark dismal place, with so much suffering and so many lost souls. In this world we are called to be the LIGHT and look to the LIGHT for our hope and peace.
I’m eager and also trepidatious about this book study! I’ve only come to faith in the last two years. Last year was my first Easter with a church and it was a beautiful and intense time. I’m curious, hopeful, and a little nervous of what this will bring up. I’m so glad to be in this community to experience it!
So excited for what lies ahead in this study!
So glad to join each of you in this study. Hello from North Texas!
Excited for a new SRT study. My goal this time is to engage more in the community of SRT and to read/post/reply on here!
Excited for this study and proclaiming his word! Amazing to see so many women from around the world participating!
As a former Catholic, Lent has always been a very important time for me. That said, especially in the past few years, I find myself so easily distracted from Christ even in this time of reflection, preparation, and renewal. This problem has only been expanded as I became the mother of two little ones even though I so very much want to raise them to love and depend on God. I am thankful for this study and hope that I can stay committed to seeking God’s word in order to realign myself with His call in my life. I know that I desperately need his redirection.
Praying for you!
Looking forward to being part of this study. Thank you.
Yay! So excited to learn about the victory of the Savior through the lens of the OT.
Hey from Kansas! This is my first Lent study – looking forward to digging into it!
Also from Kansas!!!
Beautifully written. Thank-you.
Hello from Minnesota!!! Excited for this journey!
I am excited to be starting this reading and study book. Thank you!
I think we are all in the right place for this Lent bible study. God children all over the world studying HIS word together.
Amen.
Hello from Oklahoma!! Excited about this study!
This is my first She Reads Truth study. Excited to share this journey with you all
I have never done a Lent Bible study or an online study. I’m excited my niece asked me to join in and I’m looking forward to growing in faith with you all.
Praying that this season of lent is a season of refreshing…
Excited from Ohio! I love Isaiah and I’m looking forward to a study with the SRT family.
This is my first time as an adult that I am observing Lent. I’m so very thankful to be a part of this community celebrating our Lord together!
Blanche, it is also my first time observing Lent and I am 43! I am so excited and blessed to be doing this with all of you. I am looking forward to these readings.
Really honored to be celebrating this season with so many amazing women and my He and Kids reading truth too! Looking for big things from the Lord, to hear Him like never before!
Praying for peace and rest in my heart this Lent season. Praying for a renewed attitude. One of my weaknesses is filling my time with everything but time in the Word, but I am excited for this study. And to read all the way through Isaiah, which I have never done!
Can’t wait!
This will be my first time truly participating in the lent season and I can’t wait!
I forget that I need a Savior. What I feel like is I need money. It’s hard to say, okay God, l trust you, because honestly, I don’t.
If I may encourage you to step out on faith and trust Him in prayer for resolution to whatever it is you are facing. I promise you, He hears and is faithful to work for your good and His glory.
Whenever I feel this same way I read Matt 6: 25-34. I will be praying for you. I know it is hard to trust Him about our needs, but He is our Provider. I find that when I stop worrying about bills and money somehow it all works out, and I know that He has made a way. He knows what we need before we even ask.
So excited to see what God has in store for this community during the study of Isaiah!
Excited to study through Isaiah during this season with all of you.
By the way, good aft from the blooming desert in Borrego Springs, Ca
I have always stayed away from Isaiah. Complicated and too cerebral. So looking forward to overcoming
I wondered when we would get to do a study on Isaiah. I’m very excited to go through Isaiah during this lent season with all of you.
If I purchased the digital copy this morning should it have shown up in my app already?
Hi Laura! A new post/section will appear each morning. They write the devotions/responses in real-time.
I’m woefully unfamiliar with the book of Isaiah, and I’ve never participated in a scripture study of my own volition. :) I hope to get a lot out of the Lenten season this year, and I know this series will help! Thanks
I love this perspective! It’s the perfect example and reminder of how God always fulfills His promises when we can’t see the way before us. We can always trust that He’s already made the way and nothing can stop Him. Therefore, we can find peace in only seeing one step at a time in the path ahead; because we Know it is our All Powerful God in control of it ALL!!
Wow thank you for this…been sick for awhile lately and it reminds me that I just need to hold God’s hand and take steps of faith with Him.
Awww!! I get it!! I was very sick for seven, and almost died from Lupus SLE. Healed a year ago. He’s in the miracle business, friend!!
I’m looking so forward to this time of focus and thinking outside of myself. Being sensitive to the prompting of the Holy Spirit with Philip as the example.
So excited to be a part of this study!! Wahoo!!
how do some of y’all get a picture next to your name instead of just the blue thing? can’t figure it out.
I have been wondering the same thing. Hopefully someone who knows will fill us in.
I’ve tried too with no success.
So ready for this study! I need to listen and follow the Holy Spirit, I find that I have a hard time following where it leads me.
I love how Philip was so quick to follow what the Spirit told him to do. I have noticed that sometimes it’s hard to listen to what the Holy Spirit prompts me to do when it takes me out of my comfort zone. I pray that through this study and through Lent I can step wholeheartedly out in faith of my comfort zone when prompted.
Excited for this study… first time participating in a Lent study though this site. My husband and I truly use this time to re-focus. We partake in Silence and Solitude during this time as well. Thank you for starting before Ash Wednesday – A lot of studies we’ve done online start late for Lent and Advent!
This is my first Lent study and I am so excited to join in on the discussion with you all.
Greetings from beautiful Fort Collins, Colorado. Day One and God has revealed Himself through 2 Peter 1:21, prophecy is from “men spoke from God as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.” Thanks for including this scripture in today’s reading. Reminder that Isaiah was God-breathed and we are instructed by the Holy Spirit to open our hearts and minds with confidence that The Word this is the truest Truth from the One and Only God. Hallelujah!
I think this is beautiful. I’ve never stopped to think about Lent, much less study through it. I grew up in a legalistic Southern Baptist atmosphere and anything that remotely gave thought to this and it’s combo with Mardi Gras was hethenistic. Thank you, SRT, for taking the time to expound on the beauty in Holy Week and Isaiah!
I’m excited to be studying Isaiah this Lent and digging into God’s amazing use of prophecy for hope for His people!
I love Lent and Advent. So I’m really looking forward this this study and journey!!
Haven’t done a SRT study in a while, but I am going to give this one a shot. I pray that for this lent season that I feel a restoration and renewal in my life. I am fasting and committing to this study to teach myself more discipline. Cheers, ladies!
Amber –
We are so excited that you’ll be joining us for Lent! Welcome back :)
Good morning from Colorado! New to SRT….excited to be in this group!
Hi Tanya!
Welcome! We’re so glad you’re here and studying the Word of God with us!
I will continue my bible readings “until the day dawns and the morning star rises in my heart”.
Love this line too!
Oh I love that line!
This verse grabbed me too. Incredibly visual and beautiful.
Good morning from Seattle!! I am excited to prepare my heart for this Lent season and study alongside so many Christian women!! I know it will be a great encouragement !! If anyone wants to chat more about the study – feel free to reach out! @kellylemon on Instagram . Happy Monday!!
Your photography is GORGEOUS! :) Totally agree, so excited to see what God has for us all!
Good morning from Virginia! Excited to do this study and be reminded that Jesus is all I need. Also, if you all could please pray for me, I haven’t been feeling well this past week, with dizziness and feeling weak. After getting some blood tests done, found out I had low blood sugar and had high strep antibodies–which basically means my body was trying to fight off strep. Going to try catching up on school today. Love you all!
Barbara M
Will pray that you feel better. All praise to God who gives us the desire and the ability to learn!
Looking forward to knowing my Savior more through this Lent study!
Excited to be a first time “Truth Reader.” Am praying that this time changes my perspective as well as brings some discipline into my mornings. This Lent I am “giving up” or as one other gal put it “taking up” my mornings. I’m taking them captive for the Lord. This is a struggle for me as evenings are easiest. But I’m learning that God doesn’t want my easiest. He wants my attention and He wants it first thing.
I love the idea of taking your mornings captive! :)
I love thAt idea! I will do the same ! Give my morning time to the Lord for lent! To Be that much more intentional – about doing this devotion EVERY morning!!
I wrote this as a prayer in the front of my book! I too have a difficult time turning to God first thing in the morning (afternoons are “easiest” for me!) but I also know that if I did commit to Him first thing that it will set my heart straight for the rest of the day! Thanks for the reminder.
Welcome, Carolyn! So glad you’re joining us – and more importantly, that you’re in the Word!
Welcome, Carolyn! I love the idea of “giving up” mornings…and it feels as if your post is a confirmation that I need to do the same. It has been on my mind constantly lately, and I do believe that God is trying to get my attention! Thanks for sharing and letting the Lord speak through you!
Reading about Phillip and the eunuch made me realize how important it is to do as God calls you to do – Phillip did not doubt the voice and calling of God. When the spirit told him to GO, not only did he go, he RAN! I pray that I too will hear and obey the calling of the spirit with such fever and excitement! I struggle so much with self-doubt and over-thinking that I completely miss opportunities to allow my faith to have legs and do as God commands – look what GOODNESS comes about when Phillip acted in accordance with Him!
Praying this exact prayer, Kristina! Overthinking, self-doubt paralyze me.
I know there are many searching and hungry souls out there like this Eunuch..he was eager to understand.. Lord please lead us to the people who are searching for truth.. that we might be as obedient as Philip to share the gospel with them, without hesitation, but to run to them with the life giving words of hope found in the gospel..
Excited to do my first ever reading plan on the app! As a Lutheran, Lent is important to my tradition and I’m really looking forward to having a daily way of interacting with the Lent season other than giving something up.
Is anyone else giving something up for Lent? I’m thinking of giving up Facebook altogether, limiting Instagram to Saturdays, and not doing any shopping other than food and necessities. All of these are weaknesses for me in my everyday life.
I come from a church tradition that does not celebrate Lent, but I’m beginning to appreciate the idea of focusing on Christ’s sacrifice so purposefully for the next several weeks. Having struggled with legalism a lot in my past, I’m a bit gun-shy about the idea of giving something up for Lent; I guess I’m worried I’ll lose sight of the point of it if I make rules for myself to follow. I think what I’ll do instead is take extra time every day during my quiet time to ask the Lord to show me what in my life is keeping me from worshipping Him as He deserves. As I become aware of areas in my life that need to change, I will make those changes or sacrifices. I hope that doing this will lead me in the same direction spiritually as a traditional fast while guarding against the threat of legalism, to which I am susceptible.
I think this sounds wonderful! For me, I try remember Jesus whenever I feel a pang of temptation to engage in whatever I have given up. Knowing that this is just a reminder and a temporary thing, rather than the point of it all. But I can totally see how this could be a slippery slope if you are already prone to legalism. Grace can be hard sometimes.
excited to read Isaiah w/ SRT. never have really focused on Lent before. tearing up just beginning this morning. asking God to show me what He wants me to see. thank you for the study.
Free?
Happy Monday from the mountains of North Carolina! I am so thankful today for a community of women who can study scripture together despite borders and distance. You inspire me! Many times in past studies, my best takeaways have been from the comments. I am so looking forward to growing deeper in our relationship with Christ while encouraging and sharing with one another.
I completely agree about the comments!!! And hello from Cincinnati, Ohio!
Yesss!!
It stuck out to me how the passage in Acts says that he went to the desert. Philip was leaving huge success evangelizing in the city, so to go out into the desert seemed strange. But he went because God wanted him to. Israel was put into exile, a desert of sorts, because of their sin. Yet, even though Philip was doing what was right and the Israelites weren’t, both of them found hope in desolate places.
Good morning from Skiatook, Ok. Looking forward to this study with all of you. Thank you SRT.
Hi, Carol! Missing you and my other Skiatook friends! Glad we can study God’s Word together even across the miles!
Hope has come! Excited to learn more during this Lent season.
http://www.in-due-time.com
looking forward to the teaching …so excited to be here
Hello from Kentucky! So excited to start this journey with you today!
3 down, Lent now and many more to go. I’m so happy and excited to be starting this new journey with you amazing women and learning more about our Savior. I have to say, Isaiah 43:1- we are His. He has chosen is and He loves us with everything He has. I feel His love every day and I’m so grateful that I chose to open my heart and believe in that love not too long ago. I pray throughout this journey that I can help any of you believe you are loved by Him the way I am. That you feel as spoiled by Him as I do because I am spoiled by Him abundantly! <3
Hello from Newfoundland, Canada!
So excited to study through Isaiah together & also to partake in Lent for the first time!
I believe it’s going to be a great journey.
Doing it alongside you in Ottawa :) It’s going to be great!!
Good morning from Florida! When we believe in the Gospel, we do not simply believe in a good story. We believe in a living, active Spirit, a good and loving Father, and a risen Son Who are all continually and still at work to spread the Good News. The Spirit was active at work to lead the Ethiopian man to know Christ through the supernatural calling of Philip. In 2 Peter we read that the Father was at work to make His presence real and tangible to the eyewitnesses in the baptism and transfiguration of Jesus, and the Spirit was at work in the prophets to predict in Scripture the life and death of Christ so they would be proven true. How easy it is for me to forget that the Gospel story is not only living, but it is still at work today! My prayer is that I placed my full trust and confidence in the supernatural story that is still alive today.
Good morning! Excited for this study.
Good Morning from Georgia, USA!! Excited about studying Isaiah together! :)
Good morning from Maryville, TN. I’m looking forward to celebrating Lent season more intentionally than I ever have before with the help of SRT
Excited to be a part of this with all of you! I have never done a study focusing on Lent, and I’m so looking forward to saturating myself in the word and focusing on the great sacrifice of love Jesus gave for me during this season.
Good morning from beautiful Colorado. Although I loved this morning’s readings, the statement that Judah was carried into exile by the Assyrians is not accurate. Sennacherib and his troops laid siege to Jerusalem, but God miraculously delivered the city by sending the angel of death to slay 185,000 of the Assyrian troops. Sennacherib and his army withdrew. (Isaiah 37) Judah was later carried into captivity by the armies of Babylon.
I believe it was the southern kingdom of Israel that was taken captive by Babylon, was it not?
Nope, don’t pay attention to me! Haha!
The northern kingdom of Israel, which consisted of ten of the tribes, was taken into captivity by the Assyrians.
Thanks Cindy!
Your welcome, Jennifer! I teach the youth at our small church and we have been studying Isaiah.
That is wonderful! No matter how many times I study, I frequently get turned around about the two kingdoms. Lord, open my eyes and help me understand! Praying for understanding for your group as well Cindy. Excited for this study!
Hey Cindy,
I’m glad you made the observation about the exile into Assyria, rather than Babylon. That stood out to me too because I thought it was incorrect.
Then I read 2 Kings 17:5-6-“Then the king of Assyria invaded the entire land, and for three years he besieged the city of Samaria. Finally, in the ninth year of Hoshea’s reign, Samaria fell, and the people of Israel were exiled to Assyria…”
This exile to Assyria took place after King Uzziah died and before King Sennacherib comes into the picture (2 Kings 18). I think that window of time must be what they are referring to in this devotional.
Hi, Kathryn! The Assyrians did take the ten northern tribes (Israel) into captivity and its capital city, Samaria, fell.. However, the two southern tribes, Judah and Benjamin..collectively “Judah” were not conquered by the Assyrians. Sennacherib, King of Assyria, laid siege to Jerusalem (the capital of Judah), but the city was not captured. In Isaiah 37, Scripture says that God sent the angel of death who destroyed 185,000 of the Assyrian army. After this, Sennacherib and the Assyrians withdrew. Judah continued in its independence until it was carried into captivity by the Babylonians some years later.
Feeling so blessed to be part of this group doing the study. May the Lord grow all of our faith as we read through this together.
Excited to start this journey. I was so encouraged to see all the comments, I wasn’t expecting that when I purchased this study! I am praying for all of us to see God in our lives this season, to be shared with everyone we meet.
How often do I hesitate! How often I cower out of sharing what I know to be true of our good God! Give us all obedient hearts like Philip, God, to run after those who are searching and dry with the life changing, thirst-quenching love of YOU.
I love this prayer! ❤
So excited!
The first song to come on my Pandora station this morning seems wholly perfect for the first day of the Lenten season. It’s called “Fall Afresh” by Bethel, and the lyrics are my prayer for all of us as we journey through the book of Isaiah together:
Awaken my soul, come awake
To hunger, to seek, to thirst
Awaken first love, come awake
And do as you did, at first
Spirit of the living God come fall afresh on me
Come wake me from my sleep
Blow through the caverns of my soul
Pour in me to overflow
Come and fill this place
Let Your glory now invade
Spirit come and fill this place
Let your glory now invade
I love how Philip RAN to the chariot to tell the eunuch about Jesus. May we all be so eager to hear and obey the Holy Spirit’s prompting and run to spread the Good News.
I agree. Let that be our prayer!
As Phillip obeyed and found the eunuch sitting in the chariot and eventually announced the glad tidings of the gospel to him, so may our hearts be open to the Holy Spirit to surrender ourselves completely during this season. Where He leads I will follow.
Hey,y’all, from Alabama in the USA. Ready for this study in Isaiah and looking forward to seeing all that The Lord does as He draws us closer to Himself. Praying for each of us to be made more into Christ’s image during this season of Lent. Come,Holy Spirit, please teach us!
I have looked forward to this study for weeks! So excited to begin Lent with this community. May God bless each of us in a special way as we delve deep into Isaiah.
I am looking forward to this study– I discovered this site a few months ago– just in time to participate in the Advent 2016 study– I feel blessed to be in a group with all of yall. And am thrilled to be able to go back and read the other studies that I missed out on. I take notes each day and putting each study in sheet protectors in a binder. Try to start each morning with the current study and then later in day/evening work on another study– Everyone have a blessed day- sending yall some sunshine from Florida USA
“Then Philip opened his mouth…” What a remarkable phrase, taken directly from the Greek. So often I have wanted to talk about Jesus, but held back because I wasn’t sure how it would be received. Step 1: open mouth, Step 2: let words come out. Peace to you, sisters.
Me too. And he RAN to the Ethiopian after hearing from the lord. Fast obedience. Lord let me spread the gospel like Phillip.
Amen!
So looking forward to this Lent journey. Thank you!
Isaiah is my favorite book of the Bible. It is filled with so many prophesies of our coming Savior. He has come, He has risen and He will come again! I pray today that the Lord will make it clear to me His will for me, with the gift of today He has given me. I pray I will stay close to the root, the branch and that He will prune me for His glory!
“This is my son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased” I am so excited to be taking this journey into Isaiah. Lord during this season of Lent let your spirit flood my days and your peace and joy fill my heart as I draw closer to you and see your presence all around me.
I’m praying for a newfound perspective and comprehension of each of our depravity and need for a Savior. I’m praying that we feel the depths of the beautiful gift that Christ’s death and resurrection was and is for us. Come, Lord Jesus, come.
Looking forward to studying Isaiah with you girls!
I have been looking forward to this unique time of consecration. I pray for each of us now who participate, that no good seed would be snatched or choked out, but would bear fruit for Him Whom we love, a hundredfold!
In Jesus Name, Amen!!
I am so excited to start this study with this community. Ready to be submerged in His Truth.
What a loving reminder that “we are His”. Our name has been called by the voice of the God of creation. Although we may feel forgotten by others at times, we never have to wonder if we are on His mind. He always loves, always thinks of us, always comforts and always provides. His greatest provision ever, the provision for our sin in the loving gift of Jesus Christ. May we draw closer and closer to Him and encourage others to as well. During this season of Lent, Lord never let me take for granted Your goodness which has been lavished on us.
I am very excited to study the book of Isaiah during lent. Praying for all of the she’s as we read this book together.
Feeling blessed to study the Bible and Isaiah during Lent I am excited to join this learning group. May we all praise God and forever say “I Believe.”
I love knowing that I’ll be reading alongside other women all around the world in different stages of life. I’m excited for what the Lord will do during this study!
Good Morning from Iowa! The Lent study is the first I read of SRT a couple years ago and I look forward to this season year round. I think, for me, I’m able to really focus on Lenton season over Christmas season because we are without the commericialism and business that rushes us through December. I celebrate that I’m here with you all.
I’m ready to learn more about this lent I’ve never really heard much about it before. Are maybe I’ve never heard it called that before not sure.. I’m wanting to have a more clear understanding of what God,Jesus, the son, Holy Spirit is .. I pray that God gives me clear understanding of his word as I go through this study with you. Thanks Lori.
Also praying that for you Lori!
Praying for you on this journey, Lori!
I am excited to go through this study with SRT. I pray God would draw us to Jesus and repentance, and help us live out who we are in Christ and not forget Whose we are. May God bless our time together!
SRT is so helpful in my daily walk. Helping me actually pick up the word and learn it. I am so excited for this years Lent readings!
Good morning from the U.S. southern Pennsylvania! Excited to start this daily reading and devotion for my routine and “taking up” for Lent. Past years I’ve focused more on the “giving up” and really missed the true message to why we give up things, past times, bad habits etc…I am ready with an open happy heart
Thank you for sharing this. I am actually planning on giving up something for the first time in God’s name and to purify my relationships-one in particular. But you’re so right-it’s more than giving something up-it’s about hearing God’s call and entering in with an open heart. Thank you!
Starting my first plan with SRT. Cant think of a better time to start and am blessed to have a community reading along together. Looking forward to the study. May you all have a blessed day!
God ordained the meeting between Philip and the Ethiopian. The man’s heart had already been prepared to hear the gospel, Philip only had to point out that the passage from Isaiah had been fulfilled. The Ethiopian just had to put his hope in Jesus. We know that we have a sure hope in Christ because of His fulfillment of prophecy. “No prophecy of Scripture comes from one’s own interpretation, because no prophecy ever came by the will of man; instead, men spoke from God as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.”
In one commentary I looked in, it stated that Peter Stoner (a professor of mathematics) said the probability that one person could fulfill only 8 prophecies is 1 in 10 to the power of 17. If you consider 48 prophecies the odds jump to 1 in 10 to the power of 157. There are at least 332 Old Testament prophecies concerning the Messiah that Christ fulfilled. There is no way writers of the Old Testament could have made up all of these prophecies that were fulfilled and no one man could have orchestrated the fulfillment of them. Our hope is in the God who ordained it all.
I loved the paragraph about the Israelites hope in their homeland being taken away and all they had left was their hope that God would intervene. Hope has come, but it is an eternal hope and not a hope in earthly things. When times of testing come, we recognize where our hope is. I am placing my hope in the God that has shown His faithfulness over and over again.
Beautiful thoughts, Sandy! It’s amazing to look at the probability of Jesus fulfilling every prophecy from the OT…it returns a sense of wonder and awe to me when I consider the unending power of the Lord, just as the story of Philip and the Ethiopian does too! The passage from Acts also reminds me that God loves the individual: Philip was sent down the desert road not for the multitudes, but for ONE man. I am praying that the Lord would give me this perspective, that each and every person is valuable and sought after by Him.
Yes! In God’s economy, finding one lost sheep is worth leaving all the rest. Thanks for reminding me!
wonderful comments ladies! I can already see that this is going to be an incredible series. looking forward to reading more from you!
love your comments ladies! This study is already opening my heart and making me feel closer to God! I am looking forward to reading more from you.
Amen!
It’s been a while since I have done the Lent study with SRT. Excited to read with everyone again! Love studying Truth with girls from all over the world together at the same time!
This will be the first time I observe Lent since I was a little girl. Excited to start this study!
Looking forward to this time as we dive deeper into Isaiah and our need for a Savior.
I have always felt a little bit more excited about the reflective season of Christmas over the reflective season of Lent/Easter. I am not really sure why. Maybe because the idea of reflecting on the miraculous birth of a child something I have been a part of is something I can relate to better than His suffering and resurrection – both of which I have not truly experienced. Or maybe because reflecting on His sacrifice for me pierces my heart in ways that are sometimes outside of my comfort zone. But either way this year, I am all in. My desire is to know more of Him and this season is what He is all about. Thank you for this study. I am looking forward to challenging my comfort zone and my realm of experience so that I can fall in love with Him more!
Naomi you are so speaking my language! ❤️️
A Lenten pilgrimage, and now the journey starts…
I’m so excited about this study! I first read SRT one Christmas season and have always loved the Advent and Lent studies! And Isaiah! Ooohhhh, it’s going to be good! Rain down on us, Lord!
I am looking forward to this journey! God bless you all!
Good morning from Tennessee!! I’ve been starting my day with some coffee and the Bible in a Year reading plan.. I’m excited to add this study to my routine. Praying for a receptive heart and thankful for this as a peaceful start to my day.
Thank you for your word Lord. Thank you for repeating and reassuring us that we have a Homeland through Christ. Thank you for pursuing us continuously and thoroughly.
Amen. What a loving God, it nearly overwhelms me.
Good Morning, blessings to everyone from Canada, it’s still night actually, but I couldn’t sleep. It’s been good to get into Gods Word in the quiet stillness!
This has been my morning ritual. I love these scriptures and the feeling of peace as I use my mornings to reflect. Looking forward to this journey, too.
I LOVE Isaiah! So excited to start this study!
I generally give up some sort of food or a bad habit for Lent. I’m excited this year to sacrifice my time and spend it in His Word!
Hey Linda! I’m working on this too!
This is where I’m heading, too…and what a great way to do it!
Good morning! I love SRT and your ministry of teaching God’s word. I just wanted you to know that the Bible reference you gave above in Acts is missing verse 37! It has 36 but skips to 38.
Read the footnote at the end of the passage, its included in some manuscripts but not all.
You are right. That’s weird.
I noticed that too! Such an important verse too
There are many verses missing in a lot of the modern versions today. I look for a version that is complete, some examples are of course the oldest the King James Version (KJV), also the English Standard Version (ESV) is complete.
I am excited for this Lent study in Isaiah! Our church curriculums are all taking us methodically through Scripture from Old to New Testaments, with a focus on how both point to Jesus. This study seems so appropriate!
Yay off we go ! Looking forward to this study
Such a important time of year. One I believe offers an opportunity to step out of the normal flow of thinking and look intently at the cross and Jesus’ sacrifice. Having SRT as a part of my Lenten discipline has been a blessing in the past, and I know it will be again. Thank you for offering us a study that guides us through this season. And good morning to all you around the world; it’s a joy to share these readings together.
My small group Bible study has been working our way through the Bible beginning in Genesis for six years now. We just finished Isaiah. I’m excited to read the corresponding devotions from SRT for further insight into these wonderful Scriptures. Thank you SRT for always challenging me to go deeper and to look at the Word through different lenses. And thank you SRT community for sharing your thought, impressions, and personal applications here. You all bless me so much! I look forward every morning to opening the Word with you, sipping on my coffee. I hope many pull up their chair and join us all here. There’s lots of room. I’ve got lots of coffee!
You bless us with your wisdom & inspire us…thank you! Can’t wait to see how we all grow & shine light around us through this study.
Thank you Churchmouse. Looking forward to this study & coffee with you & everyone.
Good morning from England, looking forward to sharing Lenten devotions with my sisters throughout the world
Good morning! Love spending my early morning with you and in the Word of God.
Good morning! My prayer is that The Lord will be right with us as we read His story, His breath on a page, during this Lenten season.
Blessings to all, and peace.
Good morning from Norway!
So excited to start this study with you all. We are His. I pray that this truth will settle in our hearts during this lenten season.
❤️❤️❤️ love to you in Norway!
Love your beautiful country! I was there a couple of years ago. I join with you in your prayer today. ♥
Hei på deg fra USA! We are all sisters in Christ!
The song that comes to my mind as I begin this study is “My hope is built on nothing less/Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness…On Christ the solid rock I stand/All other ground is sinking sand.” I will fall – and fall apart – if I place my hope on anything or anyone else. Oh that the Lord would keep this truth always before me!
Amen!
So apt. Christ Alone
wow… I began to sing that song right after reading day one….
Amen
Love this song!
