standing on the promises

Good  morning, Sisters!

We hope this Monday morning finds you refreshed from the weekend and renewed by the study of just a handful of the many promises our gracious Father has made to each and every one of us.

As we think on the words we’ve read over the past three weeks, we would love to hear from you!

What were your favorite days in this study?
When did the Lord meet you, surprise you, draw you closer to Him?
How have His promises changed the way you view His word and your everyday?

The vastness of His goodness to us is humbling, isn’t it?

As we rest between reading plans today and tomorrow, let’s praise the Lord for meeting us in the pages of His word, for meeting us in our schools and offices and homes today, for meeting our hearts right where we are – not where we think we should be.

Next up…

We start a brand new SheReadsTruth plan on the book of James this Wednesday! Feel free to round up some friends to join us.

We can’t wait to share this plan with you!

Today i read the post for Sunday, and just as i was reading it i just happen to bump into the song Jekalyn Carr – Greater Is Coming on you tube,
all by accident and there and then i heard Gods message, I am amazed at all the amazing changes that he Lord has been making in my life.

Welcome Joanne! … I thank God for ALL His promises and it is always good to be reminded of them.

I am asking for prayer from everyone. I am in need of employment. My job of over ten years ended September 24. I have submitted many applications and went on a few interviews. I am believing in God’s plan for my life and I know He has perfect timing. Please pray that I will continue to stand on His Faithfulness.

Praying for you Cynthia! He will carry You in ways you can't imagine.

I was just really blessed by how I would read a promise and it directly affected me or applied to me that day. There were a bunch of days in a row where I would read the verse and either be immediately convicted or immediately feel the need to praise God for showing me His promise that day or the day after. Thank you for taking us ladies on this journey!

Once again I want to say THANK YOU for all your hard work! I enjoy reading your blog & all the reading plans, always excited to see what’s coming up and am thrilled to see James be the next one! It is my favorite book of the Bible and I can read it over and over. I really enjoyed this Promises journey as well. My favorite day was 14. It spoke directly to my heart. We have been having some tough times with the health of our youngest with a lot of unanswered questions and doubt creeping in and its just tough to stand there and be strong and try to answer all the million questions coming your way about what’s going on and getting everyone’s two cents. Several times throughout this journey when I seek Gods comfort he opens up that exact message to me {Proverbs 3:5,6} which has always been a favorite but when its time to act on it, it seems like it would be easier to be in control of the situation. God has his plans though and I believe that right now we are only seeing a part of the whole picture. He is doing something with all this, we just need to trust Him and let Him lead. This devotional was very heartwarming. Thank you! It’s so nice to have somewhere to go to get some encouragement & God always speaks through it. Thank you & be blessed!

Everyday I day I was able to read blessed me. The temptation to fall into depression during this study hit hard and I must admit I fell into it a little, but having time to go into the word helped me not stay there. These are trying times for me but I intend to keep studying with SRT. Studying with others truly helps me. Thank you ladies for your wisdom and transparency. Be blessed.

Hi – I'm new to SheReadsTruth – though I DID just finish your Fresh Start study on my own – my first one. I was abundantly, abundantly blessed by it in SO many ways! I'm excited to be able to do a study with you ladies, and not just "after" you :D. Can hardly wait for Wednesday – not sure what I'll do with my day tomorrow LOL. Suppose I'll just have to find something different to do through youversion for one day ;)

Will there be a link here on the blog for signing up for the James study through youversion?

Anyhow – thanks so much! Looking forward to getting to know everyone!

    1. Valanne says:

Hi Joanne, I don't know how the other ladies do it, but I sign up through YouVersion and begin there each day and after reading the scripture and devo, I then click on the link to come on over to SRT to write and read comments. Welcome, I am so looking forwarded to studying James afresh with all theses ladies.

      1. Joanne Sher says:

Thanks so much, Valanne! Will have to go find the James study on Youversion – looked for it yesterday, or the day before, I think, and it wasn't up yet! Looking forward to getting to know you folks!

        1. Valanne says:

Based on my experience, we won't find it up on YouVersion until tomorrow. :)

          1. Joanne Sher says:

            Got it :) Thanks!

I am a fan of Day 21! God's Word will last forever!

During the course of this study, I stumbled upon Luke 1:37 which states that No Word from God will ever fail. Which was more than perfect, because we were studying God's Promises. So, in turn, God's Promises will never fail!

Personally, I have had to make some serious decisions over the course of the last 3 weeks. And during that time, I was questioning 'which way do I go?' Yet, hearing His promises gave me the Peace that enabled me to make a huge decision, knowing that 'His Word is not something to cling too, but its the Mighty Mountain under my feet'. (day 21)

God's timing was perfect…..this study intertwined with another study, which intertwined with a sermon I heard, which intertwined with the Word's I found while reading my bible.

I can't say I am surprised by this – Its exactly how God works. Its just a wonderful testimony of His faithfulness found in my obedience to Him.

    1. Love how all of those experiences wove together for you, Janee, Thanks for sharing! So encouraging.
