standing on the promises

from the standing on the promises reading plan

BY Amanda Bible Williams

Good  morning, Sisters!

We hope this Monday morning finds you refreshed from the weekend and renewed by the study of just a handful of the many promises our gracious Father has made to each and every one of us.

As we think on the words we’ve read over the past three weeks, we would love to hear from you!

What were your favorite days in this study?
When did the Lord meet you, surprise you, draw you closer to Him?
How have His promises changed the way you view His word and your everyday?

The vastness of His goodness to us is humbling, isn’t it?

As we rest between reading plans today and tomorrow, let’s praise the Lord for meeting us in the pages of His word, for meeting us in our schools and offices and homes today, for meeting our hearts right where we are – not where we think we should be.

Next up…

We start a brand new SheReadsTruth plan on the book of James this Wednesday! Feel free to round up some friends to join us.

We can’t wait to share this plan with you!

So reassured by His Promises in His Word. Knowing that Gods word does what it says it will do, and won't return void is comforting and encouraging. Increasing trust in His plan for me and mine, even when I don't understand my days.

Day 4 really stood out to me. The prayer that was "God, I'm crying out to you for help. Help me trust that you will come to my rescue." I was in a somewhat dark place when I read this and it really resonated with me. I can't tell you how much that one day, helped to shift my perspective on the situation I was in.

This bible study has marked and documented an enormous transitional phase in my life. It's pushed me closer to God, it's focused me on His word, and it's really what was the driving force (along with studying Acts) that brought me nearer to God, and helped me listen to His will for me more clearly. It gave me courage to follow through, and it gave me strength to deal with the heartbreak of all of this change in life; it gave me hope when I was brought low by all that He told me, and became solid rock when absolutely everyone else in my world seemed to shift away from me like sand. Lord, you are so, so, so, very good! How I would've never guessed that when I said "adventure," you'd bring me HERE! Hallowed be thy name! Thy kingdom come, thy will be DONE! Bring me to the rock that is Higher than I. You are faithful; you have supplied and WILL supply ALL THAT I NEED.
Let God lead you, sisters. That is the cry of my heart. Let Him lead you!!

I really like day 8 because it brought a lot of conversation to the table from the SRT community. Plus it has wonderful promises to claim —

"I will always be personal, and I will always be with you."

    And

"Others look on the outside, I will always look at the heart."

What I've just really learned from reading through the book of Daniel is that there is a part of God that we don't understand (why certain things happen for example), and we shouldn't try to understand, because He is Lord and He is sovereign over all things. And as soon as we let go of that that's just another way He's learning us to trust in Him. And that is beautiful :)

Oh, just realised I commented about the wrong plan.. I'm talking about Daniel here because I did that plan and the Promises plan together. Loved them BOTH!

Praying for you Cynthia. I’ve been without work a couple of times and God has always been faithful. You can depend in him to meet your needs.
